Dead Space 3 is a joke.
Well, it looks like EA ruined Dead Space 3

The irony is that 8 month old predictions proved to be so correct.
DS - Survival Horror
DS2 - Horror+Shooter
DS3 - Shooter.
People joke about Call of Duty because everything EA touches turns into Call of Duty. I bet they'll turn Mario into shooter with cinematics and regenerating health.

You mean like the first Mass Effect had?

At least ME started with this feature, yet I am still surpried how they managed to release ME3 without coop.

Actually i like DS3, good gameplay with terrific sound effects and music. Level design is mostly well done especially space levels and alien city. Crafting is great, lots of experiments and there isn't really "wrong" choices. Game is long enough 10-11 hours even if you skip all opt.missions i guess, i completed game on hard in 15 hours and only skipped the co-op side missions(because i was playing solo duh
)
Cons:
Mostly Hollywood style action with lots of wave combats. Especially i would like to see some nervey first level but its full gun fight with chases.
Some side mission levels are just there as filler. They are extremely similar(espc.the ones on the planet) you fights against lots of necros and deplete most of you resources but rewards are not good considering all that fuss.
AI is beyond horrible, soldiers/birdies are the worst i have seen for a long time(just charge on them and see for yourself), necromorphs gone nuts if there are lots and they cant reach you.
Writing, characters and story is just terribad.

A few things keep coming up which honestly I find inconsistent.
Firstly "EA wants to turn everything into an FPS" - which frankly does not make much sense to me. If you were going to point at some (perhaps undesirable to you) game style which EA games were resolving towards - where all their games could eventually be implemented using the same technology, it is that of a third-person perspective action game - Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Dead Space, Gears of War etc. - things mostly seem to be drifting in the direction of being more like Mass Effect than anything else.
Also, I am having trouble seeing what it is about DS3 that departs from the "formula" of the previous games - perhaps it is because I don't like them that much, so forgive me - but isn't this a 3rd person action sci fi shooter with a kindasorta "horror" theme that is impressive to look at (although honestly not scary)?
It does look like they have attempted some development of the story and injection fo some characters with limited success - has this contributed to it being spoilt?
