To get it out there to as many as possible, so that bioware HAS to fix it rather than brush it under the rug as their profits will be hit.

I have already achieved my goal with this thread.  The word will spread and bioware wil have to acknowledge this even if it is by closing this thread.

He didn't tell you how to do it. He was just relaying a sentence I posted on youtube-I actually amended it at the bottom because it was wrong. Cloak doesn't matter, I just thought it did at first because I wasn't able to get consistent results because my ping changes from host to host.  He didn't do anything wrong, he probably just stumbled into someone using it today.

why would they block it? It is a legitimate issue.  It had already grown enough that I ran into people using it that I had never said a word to.

So they'll fix it AND ban all the people that used it?  I don't think it's worth loosing 3 months of grinding and a $80 game.

True and good point.  Well this'll be my last unintentional bump for this thread.  

Good points to take away.  Yes this needs to be fixed soon.  No it won't be that big a problem as it is easily tracked and bannable offense.  Telling everyone how to do a glitch and asking for it's removal will get it removed eventually, just not a good way of getting it removed.

I would question the second part.  For one, it is their fault it exists and secondly you can easily be glitched by accident.  I didn't discover it because I was pressing random buttons, it occured because of an update in the game that effected the way I played.

A MMO (Final Fantasy XI) I once played has an item duplication trick that, like this, required a very specific and unintuitive set of commands to perform, but was reliably able to be reproduced. They fixed the glitch in a September. They issued mass bannings the following January. Some were permanently banned, some were only temporarily, and some not touched at all. Didn't matter how much you benefitted from it.

When you agree to the terms of service, you agree to this. Accidents are one thing, but like the previous issue with infinite Commendation packs, you can generally tell when it's not an accident.

Nah, Final Fantasy XI. Could duplicate items in a specific instanced area, including rare drops.

Most likely they'll fix it, and draw some arbitrary "this could have been accidental" line, and everyone below that line will be fine but above that line will be banned. Look back to the credit glitch. They fixed it and then banned abusers. Look at the n7 pack glitch. 4 or less glitches and you were fine. They fixed it and banned anyone that did it more than 4 times.

Furthermore, this would clearly be tier 1 (maybe 2) cheating and so it is current policy to ban for it.

Aside: DNC, have you considered that you're recruiting people to use this glitch, and that is also against the sticky on cheating policy?

Either way you both are now posting directions on how to do the exploit. I'm sorry you don't see the logic to presenting your finding in another manner. I have had detailed conversations with other game forums moderaters and this kind of thread is generally unacceptable and warrants exile. I've made my point, so I'm done here.

I'm off for the night as well, but I wanted to say thanks for trying to help get the bug fixed weezer, and I think your original course of action was more productive than this.

@DNC, I hope I'm off my guess that they'll consider this thread as tier2 cheating and ban you. It would be sad to loose our funniest troll to him actually trying to get something fixed.

Saying outright that your goal is to deprive Bioware of real-world profits, informing people how to do it and then saying you want people to do it more in order to force Bioware to fix it..... It's already done, even if you drop to your knees and beg them not to ban you, you're still done for. I hope you've enjoyed playing this game (or maybe that you haven't, such that you'd miss it less). For your sake I suggest apologizing and asking (very nicely) to at least not be permabanned.

The funny thing is I was just being rather persistent myself about trying to get a dev response to requests regarding extra search options for MP, bumping my own thread repeatedly to where I thought I may have crossed a line and earned myself an Abram Smash..... After having this thread for comparison, I'm not too worried.

Again, do yourself a favor OP, swallow your pride/frustration and apologize (profusely) for this thread, they may yet choose to be merciful. As it is, this thread seems almost intended to get them to ban you. I get your frustration, but this is not the way to go. If anything this thread was the exact wrong thing to do, and should stand as an example to everyone who sees it of how to go about trying to get something you want in such a way as is least likely to succeed.

Had you simply posted that it was a problem and needed fixing, all I'd have posted is /signed. As it is, I agree with what you want, but not at all with the way you went about getting it. I only wish you had seen the lack of sense in it sooner. I hope you don't banned, I know from experience you're a good player, we need as many such as we can get roaming the PUG's if any of us are ever to find a proper match without agonizing difficulty. Just think it through, admit this thread was ill advised, and apologize-- I'm not sure how merciful they'll be willing to be, but I can't imagine apologizing could hurt.
