Why is it that people focus on the glitchers rather than the glitch? Banning everyone might be a way to fix the problem, but it's a stupid way that eliminates much of the fanbase and still leaves it open for exploitation. Why aren't people calling for them to fix this, since it's kind of absolutely awful that it's in the game at all?

Seriously, with the credit exploit, it took them months to fix it, and there never was anything in the game itself through any sort of message mentioning that bans would follow, just a vague mention of "undocumented features" (is there even a set of documented features?) in a long agreement that was probably read by almost no one. The action needs to be on the side of fixing what's broken. Maybe throw in some bans too, but the bulk of the effort should go towards a fix. A REAL one.

I don't understand it either. People here wil complain about the silliest things, but when there's actually something that's worth complaining about, they act like Bioware can do no wrong.

Dude...Let BW handle the cheaters - they do not need our help being MP police. There are BW dudes and babes getting paid real $$$ Canadian to do this kind of thing.

The point is not for us to police anyone.  The point is to make it clear to other players that it is very likely BW will be policing it.

Somone might see the glitch in-game and come to the forums to try to find out how to do it themselves.  Then they might see the thread in capital letters, check it out, and decide it's not worth the risk.  That's one player who hasn't done anything wrong, dissuaded from exploiting and less likely to be removed from the player base.

You summed up my intentions perfectly. Thank you.

Saw it in action.
Thought is was [censored] stupid.
Told friends if they did it w/ me in lobby I'd remove them.
Profit.

The sane people do.  The others are a hindrence that I think wants to fight to keep it in the game.

I love how you have the APPARENT AUTHORITY to THREATEN people with BANNING even though no where near your forum Avatar is there a BIOWARE logo to legitimize your authority.

People cheat in games... there is a sticky topic posted by BIOWARE's staff promising the forum users that cheating will not go unpunished.

However blatantly stating that people will be banned for ANY act by someone that is not an official BIOWARE STAFF MEMBER is a violation of forum code and conduct. You should not go around making threads like this... or at least watch the way you word things.

I dont use the cheat... and I dont use any... and never will... nonetheless... I prefer my PSAs comming from BIOWAREs staff. You should have just brought the cheat to the attention of BW staff without making up your own imperative statements.

So this glitch is great until they run out of ammo.. and then they're a passenger for the rest of the game.
Awesome.
Hysteria is hilarious though.

Until you play online.  With their servers.  Then, it is all of a sudden a privilege, not a right.

As stated in the EA ToS. It also states in there that exploiting a glitch is a bannable offense.

If i see a glitcher or exploiter I simply don't give a crap really. I either quit the game or just ignore it. Glitchers gonna glitch until the glitch or exploit is fixed. I doubt anybody will follow your suggestions though.

OMG why today of all days that this crap surfaces to the general public? Almost everyone on my friend's list who plays this game knows about this, with the exception of my buddy who bought the game less than 4 hrs ago.

Wow. That didn't take long.

Very first game I played today, sure enough, I had a GI doing the glitch. The game completely sucked.

The banhammer will fall heavily on his soul.

It is funny that anyone would say people who intentionally do this glitch aren't wrong and/or shouldn't be banned/punished. Only reason to say that is if you or a friend does it. Nobody disagrees about it needing fixed right away, but losing people who would use glitches like this would be no loss to our community, it would be a benefit.

Boring...
By god, it's common sense and I think it is in our blood that knowledge of what is cheating...
You look like doomsday preacher ...
Preaching and wanting to save sinners before the end of the Mayan world December 2012
Jajajaja

Good luck with that
If you really want to help, do like everyone else. Send a complaint to BW support and thats all ...

what you are causing is the spread of this glitch and future cheaters

I got insecurity from his post. It's like he is fearing people will do this and go unpunished.
Regardless I agree with the posts stating you just need to bring this to the attention of the BSN staff rather than making a second thread on the topic.

If you bothered to read other posts throughout this thread you'd see exactly why I posted it.  What you and the poster you quoted don't realize is the jokes on you, cause you're the ones being laughed at by most.

Doomsday preaching mayan calendar blah blah blah?   Shows a complete lack of understanding of the entire concept of the post.  Simplistic mentality shrouded with ignorance.  I actualy kinda find it pretty friggin funny until I stop and realize that you both are actually serious lol.  Then I just kinda feel for ya.

So you're saying anyone that uses this glitch or who would want to is automatically hopelessly bad at this game? Although I disagree with you, we're all entitled to our own opinions. Personally, I'd like to try using this glitch just to see how it feels to one shot everything. Does it mean I suck at the game? No. I'd rate myself average at best but I do like the feeling of being godly in my video games every once in a while.

It would be entirely unethical for Bioware to ban players for abusing this exploit.

Like falling through maps, this was built into the game (unintentionally), and no outside manipulation is needed. All it takes is three button presses and a high enough latency to pull off. It's random.

There is no hacking. There is no cheating. Cheating is gaining an unfair advantage over someone else. Anyone can do this. It's so simple you could do it by accident. Exploits are not cheating. Superbouncing in Halo 2 is an exploit. Wavedashing in Smash Bros is an exploit. Reload animation canceling is an exploit.

I agree that Bioware should be aware of the problem, and something of this magnitude should be fixed. But if they ban a single player over something that they allowed them to do, then that is just wrong.

But wavedashing was almost like a core game mechanic.. like i always say.. it's the unintentional **** that ends up making a game fun and gives it it's "skill cap" .. getting good at things like reload cancelling + wave dashing + various random things that require timing to do usually add to teh gameplay haha

Except there is a large difference between "glitches" and unintentional mechanics.  Unless that is what you are saying, then never mind.

Does anyone know how to cancel out of the glitch if it is done unintentionally? Never happened to me, and I haven't seen anyone exploiting it, but I am curious.

This is accually the first I have heard of this glitch but it looks as though this glitch could be duplicated easily though honest means. To be an effective psa you should probably inform people how to avoid said glitch and if they find their scorpion shooting cobras can they break it by switching weapons. A six paragraph tirade about how cheating is bad is not a PSA.

The more you know...

It can happen by accident....so auto ban is probably not the best solution. Fixing the glitch is the best solution.
