Simple idea for Soldiers

Now I don't want to turn this into a discussion of what needs to be buffed or nerfed, and frankly I've had a lot of success on Soldiers with Adrenaline Rush/Marksman; these are abilities that make the class what it is.
So that leads me to my proposition: Soldiers have the ability to use an extra weapon mod (on each weapon).
I know, it sounds crazy right? If we get new mods in the next DLC, this change would really shine. As of right now, most weapons really don't need 3 mods to feel effective. But wouldn't it feel nice to know you didn't have to dump that piercing mod? Never wanted to sacrifice a slot for a scope? As a Soldier, your weapons should be the best. Why should you have to choose between a small selection of mods like every other class?

How about little extra? when they equip scope on any weapon it won't suffer damage penalty when fired from hip.

Their weapons should be a the height of their bravery, of their skills and of their mastery.

I was very irritated when I started ME3 and realized the weight issues were still there with my soldier. I miss having a heavy pistol, shotgun, assault rifle, sniper rifle, heavy weapon, AND having my AR cd at 3.4 seconds =(
Harrier, high caliber barrel V, piercing mod V, recoil damper V + AR = walking death machine

Which weapon are you using?
In most cases I find that if you are a bit more careful with your shots, picking them carefully, you can take the piercing mod over the extended clip capacity and be significantly more effective.
I rock the high caliber barrel V and piercing mod V on all my assault rifles.

Soldiers need something to set them apart from the other classes, there doesnt seem to be anything they can do that another class can't do better (although frag grenades rock

Right now, I think i'm using the hurricane on my turian soldier (who is now a walking death machine). I have the high caliber barrel and extra ammo on it.xcrunr1647 wrote...

Not a bad idea, though I would have preferred if they had simply never changed the weapons system to allow all classes to carry all weapons. That would have been the right thing to do. Even if they had made that change for SP, it would've made sense to still keep the old system of certain classes only carrying certain weapon types for MP to encourage more variety and strategy.
