Great idea. At the moment I'm using Turian Soldier a lot, so any improvement would be great.

While not likely as it would require a reworking of class and inventory systems, I support it. A Soldier's main offense is his gun, and there's no way to amplify that offense that another class can't also do. Biotic Explosions and Tech Bursts always do the same reliable kinds of damage but when it comes to guns, Soldiers are usually not even as good with them as other classes.

Alternative: Make it so that Soldiers don't actually use up ammo consumables when they use them, giving the concussive shot "amplification" evolution more of a use.
And give them more wieght capacity. At least improve it by 20.

Give them an extra weapon mod and 30% more spare ammo for all weapons.

This is a really good idea. reminds me of mass effect when you could use more mods if your weapon was high ranked

Thank you for making a viable suggestion for making Soldiers that bit better. Most people feel they aren't as useful as other classes and this idea is not a way of making them OP, simply bringing them in line with the rest.
Hopefully Bioware will comment on this to let the community know if this might happen.

There actually one of the best classes, a human soldier can fire three claymore shots in one second, 2 with the adrenaline rush bonus. But yes this is an interesting idea.

I gotta bump this thread because it really is a good idea. It's simple, wouldn't break gameplay, and I think would really help the Soldier class. I was thinking of allowing them to carry one more weapon than the other classes (and having the stronger capacity to do so as well), but your idea is perfect.

With permanent ammo mods for soldiers they would be welcome in every party just like infs are now.
Preparing techbursts, biotkc or ffe explosions greatly synergizes with all other classes.
