Miranda. I don't think the game expected that, though.
Hah, you should try it with her male counterpart. In comparision, the game REALLY believes in Miranda as a love interest. <_<

Yep. Though we are all in the same boat when it comes to be pushed into the ME1 romances...Hadeedak wrote...

Hey, my Garrus-loyal girl probably had the best romance across the series. Pacing spot on, writing fabulous, all that.
With all 3 men left in the Mass Effect universe who like Shepard, my choices are now exhausted, but I do plan on making a fresh broShep and figuring out where he's going.

"Oh you liked one of the ME2-introduced characters? Too bad for you!"
All the others feel cut off as if no one never expected you to go for them. They seem like nothing more than the cheating option for BioWare's true love for Shepard. I hate it.

Liara, VS, Garrus, Tali. Those are the expectable romances...

That reminds me. Don't any of the ME2 characters who can be romanced have the "true_love" tag in their romance file? I remember hearing pre-release that Miranda's doesn't, but I'm not sure. I know the VS and Liara do though.

Ashley for ManShep.

The next playthrough was with a Shepard that had never romanced anyone in the previous games and she ended up with Liara. My current playthrough is with a Shepard who has been completely loyal to Liara since ME1. I'm curious how that will turn out in comparison to a 'fresh' Liara romance.
Next playthrough will probably be Garrus' turn.

Difference now being the ME1 romances have 2 games to flourish.

And there will be no fourth game for our ME2 LIs to return now. Same method, totally different result. Not that mine will be back anyway...
Oh yeah, mine?

After Horizon? They damn well better be, IMO. Miranda's just behind the VS by a bit. Which is pretty great in my eyes considering she's not even a squadmate.
Difference is Garrus, Tali and Liara have had three games to 'flourish' and in a good way too. The VS deserved to be on the squad the most come ME3 and they weren't really. They were side-lined for half the game, and in Ashley's case, didn't talk. So nothing's at all fair all around.

She's barely behind Ashley. Kaidan has more than both of them (For some odd reason).
That said, the romance exclusivity is almost nonexistent, barring the obvious romance culmination scene (Which is a cheap fade-to-black, hardly a "culmination") and the hug at Sanctuary.

I'd say they are about the same, or Miranda's got more since half of Ashley's content got cut in the end. And Miranda's not even a squadmate.
Nope, Jacob's romance is nonexistent.
Don't forget the kiss on the cheek, and holding hands when you rekindle the romance...

Admitted, she stops talking after she gets on the Normandy, but before that: (as far as I can count) there is the Mars rescue scene, 3 hospital talks, 2 meetings on the Citadel, a real romance scene, you can take her on a majority of missions and there is a proper goodbye-talk on Earth...

Miranda's romance exclusive bits are the affirmation, the culmination, the hug at Sanctuary, and an extension to the goodbye on Earth. The hug and the goodbye are also pure autodialogue.
Even with her cut content, Ashley's romance is FAR more developed than Miranda's. You're presenting a false argument here.

You were not pushed away from Miranda. There was no fight, break up or death. You got to rekindle your old relationship with Miranda FIRST, I believe. You have the option to continue the romance with that character, whereas others don't, or didn't in my case. You might not like how BW developed her in ME3, but there's a lot I didn't like either regarding my favourite character. Despite not being a squadmate, at least Miranda was always being included some way or another.
Now, Thane fans have it rough.
