In my day, there was a single loading screen filled with "data" for the Normandy, and gadzooks did you memorise every little point of data!

...a single mako could take down a geth ship.

...being a spectre actually counted as something.

...the antagonist believed himself to be the good guy.

1/. Bioware didn't like to draw trees, or bushes, or shrubberies. Bioware made every planet a barren wasteland!

2/. You could explore planets with raining fire.

3/. Taking down a thresher maw was no big deal....

4/. Some of the best conversations were in elevators.

...When we actually set about saving the galaxy, we actually saved it and became "big goddamn heroes."

...I could actually snipe the enemies from a mountain range away with my sniper rifle and they didn't have a clue where I was.

...we had some manners. We didn't spy on people's conversations. If we overheard something interesting, we actually talked to them. Those bloody omni-tool apps make everyone so anti-social these days.

... when someone offers troops for the big battle, they actually showed up. Rain-checks are frowned upon during big battles.

I don't believe either Spectre X or Colussus were manufactured by Armax.

Maybe if he'd spent more time calibrating the guns the first normandy wouldn't have gotten trashed.

So you didn't sell it all or turn it into Omni-gel?

*weeps* of course I did! But..it never stopped...always there was more, more, more items to be found, in every crate, every box, after every fight...the horror....the horrorImage IPB

... or use the standard form

I could explore the same storage room in multiple places with crates arranged a bit differently each time. Back then storage workers were made of omni-gel: they could move the storage to new planet before Normandy arrived and rearranged the crates too.

Back then driving licences were handled to drivers who could actually handle Mako.

... we needed two people to make a Biotic combination! And our galaxy map wasn't  direct neural link.  Why not just give us a multi-spacial quantum computer and tell us to "eye-ball" it!

(this will only be funny to you if you happen to be from the future)

... I had a full dialogue wheel. I controlled almost everything Shepard said!

... the journal was actually useful!

... Cerberus didn't have the resources and armies/ships of the Galactic Empire.

... I had satisfying endings.

... no Chobot/Allers.

... I didn't have to go to Twitter to learn about story elements.

... Omni Gel was the answer for everything.

... I just got in my Mako and took on the galaxy.

... the villains were actually good. Saren and TIM were dispicalble, but boy were the best at what they did.

Those were simpler times... better times. Before the dark times... before Artistic Integrity... :crying:

OLD SHEPARD: There was an Alliance Soldier on every street. And they were taller. More polite.

YOUNG SHEPARD: Oh, yeah? Well I bet back in your day they wouldn't even let you date Turians or Quarians! Racist, man!

OLD SHEPARD: Sure. But they were simple times. Asari Consorts would sleep with you just for doing them a favour.

YOUNG SHEPARD: ... Oh.

OLD SHEPARD: If you wanted to go somewhere, you just jumped in your Mako and drove. None of this planet-scanning malarkey.

YOUNG SHEPARD: Wait. Go back to the Consorts...
