Shepard didn't have his/her private potty and use-for-sexy-time-only shower.

... dialogue options popped up in almost every time Shepard had to say something.

Most of the planets and interiors looked exactly the same.

The inventory system was an absolute mess.

The plot was a copy/paste job from KOTOR.

The dialogue wheel was frequently bloated with useless options that all led to the same line.

ENEMIES EVERYWHERE.

GO GO GO.

I WILL DESTROY YOU.

Back in my day the player had the most control over how their shepard reacted to things! Not this 'auto-dialouge' nonsense!

Back in my day we made our own games with rocks. After we were done playing we made our own dinner with rocks. Then we made our own bed with rocks. And put ourselves to sleep with rocks. Then we woke up, ate a rock breakfast and went to the rock factory to make rocks for an eighteen hour shift.

You kids today thinks rocks are free.

In retrospect, you didn't miss out on much - it's a good game, but it's very rough around the edges. ME2 was superior in just about every way IMHO, despite cries to the contrary.

Back in my day, you could explore planets in a vehicle. God forbid they improve upon that along with precious shooting. Also, you could pick what Shepard would say, not be forced into tons of autodialogue. But EA demanded multiplayer, and so autodialogue it was!

Back in my day, Mass Effect was an RPG with shooting combat, not a third person shooter #3482

Back in my day, RPGs were RPGs, not action games where you leveled up. Player Agency mattered, and cinematics were used sparingly. Gameplay was the most important part of the story, and the PC was silent and player-generated.

Back in my day I created Adam and Eve. Then I created a snake costume to troll and mess with their heads.

But in my days people didn't troll this much.
And they got off my lawn when I told them too!
