Top 10:

1. Rushing to the dead person isn't always a good idea. They died in spot X for a reason - don't join them.
2. Running away from foes doesn't make you a wimp..sometimes it makes you smart
3. Spawn points, seriously understand these and you can do a lot to control the battlespace.
4. Don't kill the Banshees, kill everything around her if she isn't chasing you and then finish her off at your leisure.
5. Rockets, really, use them on wave 10.
6. Assault rifles are worthless.
7. How to stagger guardians and then shoot them before the shield comes back up
8. Tactical Cloak isn't just for sniping, it works great for melee.
9. Be where the team isn't. Not going Rambo but covering that "other" side of the map. Keeps the team safe and racks up a ton of kills usually.
10. Never trust PUG players to cover your rear. Always look around even if you think your back is covered.

ARs other than Harrier, Saber and Revenant you mean?

Learn character abilities, weapon specs and class specializations outside your field(s) of expertise/preferences. Knowing what your squadmates are using/how they are using it can help determine how you should play with them. Will they need me to tank? Will I need to keep a close eye on their lifesigns? Should I outfit with a different weapon to cover their shortcomings?

It is kill helping not kill stealing.

Score does not matter

Assists can be more helpful than killing other targets.

If someone tries to take charge/command let them unless you want to do it yourself. For a coordinated team beats a rag tag group of individuals.

When alone hit and dodge and run.

Have a heavy hitter in the squad.

This is not chess, the flanks are the most important part.

Get paid

If a team mates revival would make things worse, let them bleed.

Wear the red stuff on the inside.

One should always refil on ammo if passing a box.

Roll to the left.

Seriously when a brute is coming at you roll to the left not right.   Dind't know if that was mentioned.  Roll left towards the swinging arm and he misses.  Roll right and he hits you on follow through.  Som b*tches suck when there's more than 3.  Nom more than 3... They're more difficult to manage than Banshee's or Gaurdians.

I usually try to have rockets saved for evac.

AR's not worthless.  Needs assertive force and skill.

Also if on wave 10 the objective is complete and everyone is dead just die don't waste 5 min try to beat (3 Primes) or (2 Banshee and 3 Brutes) or (4 Phantoms 3 Combat Engineers and 2 Atlas) alone

On Topic:

200% cooldown is overrated. A real gun, particularly one that staggers, is usually worth more.
Staggers are vital. Any power/gun that can stagger is good.
Nova recharge reduction stacks. You can charge every 2 seconds with it.
Always check your surroundings. It is not your teammates job to keep your sides clean so you can stare down your scope.
Always keep a safe line of retreat. Don't be afraid to use it.
When solo/duoing, make sure you get rid of anything with a multi fire gun: marauders, etc. first. Shield gate can handle everything else if you play it safe.
Running at angles makes most enemies miss you. Flee, don't wait in cover to die.
Play like your teammates. If your team is running, stay mobile and run too. Don't worry, it's not that hard. If your team is camping, you should probably camp as well. Most players (including me) are not good enough to run around without some support. Use the first wave or two to hash out how you're going to play.

It is perfectly acceptable to kill trash mobs while the other three people on the team work on a boss mob. As a vanguard, for example, if there are four cannibals and a banshee on the board....kill the cannibals. Know your role.
Cast heavy characters should not completely ignore their weapons. Stuck on a relatively long CD? Use that pistol. The damage adds up.
Don't be afraid/embarrassed to use rockets when **** gets real during a non extraction wave.
Learn when to run away. Ideally, your enemies should all be coming at you from one direction. If they start to pincer you, run through the middle and turn around. Too heavy on the left/right? Move away from your spot so the lighter units that come chasing you are thinned out from the herd and you can work on them individually.
Sometimes, keeping one person out of the hack zone to draw heat away from the people inside, who may be in a crappy area for it, is a good idea.

That moment you realize you can throw cluster grenades around corners by bouncing them against the wall.

Actually, a brute will still hurt you with it's death-thrash, a ravager turns into a pool of acid after it dies, and I'm thinking there might be other enemies you might want to NOT step next to till they've been dead for a WHILE.

Here are a few of my a-ha things.

Sabotage works on anything with a weapon. If you time it right, that phantom will blow her own barriers off trying to shoot you.

I'm terrible at sniping (I'm practicing though). I find I'm more able to take out a guardian with a non-AP predaror than with a sniper rifle. Figuring out I could do that with a scope from across the map was very eye-opening (no pun intended).

Some of the people on multiplayer are jerks. They'll complain about your choice of class and weapon or call you names and kick you as soon as you join their lobby. That said -

Some of the people on multiplayer are awesome. They will be supportive and help you figure out how to use classes and equipment you're not 100% sure about. As long as you're communicating and making a good effort, you will find people who will welcome you.

If you spec inferno grenades for armor damage and max out power damage the Batarian and Krogan soldiers become beastly reaper slayers. See a spawn of brutes and ravagers? Chuck 3 inferno grenades, in a few seconds they are all dead.

Learn Tech Power Combos, the wiki has a whole slew of how and what sets them off/activates a Tech Burst, Fire Explosion and Cryo Explosion. The fact that ammo types and grenades can detonate these powerful combo effects is something that many players (even Biotic players) constantly overlook.

For example:

Tech Bursts, Fire Explosions and Cryo Explosions can be setup with ammo types as well.

Fire Explosion - Use Incendiary Ammo/Fire-Based tech ability on target, then use a tech ability that will insta-kill the target to detonate the effect. Does heavy damage to armor/health in AoE. Example: Use Incinerate/Incendiary Ammo on target, then throw Frag Grenade upon near-death of target. Results in a Fire Explosion that damage targets armor/health in area.

Cryo Explosion - Use Cryo Ammo/Cryo Blast to freeze target, upon near death use another tech ability to detonate (Incinerate for example). Cryo Explosion can flash freeze infantry present around explosion.

Tech Burst - Can occur while the target is still alive, just paint a target with a lingering tech effect, then detonate with a different tech ability. Example: Overload a Brute, then Incinerate. Tech Burst's activation doesn't require an enemy's death to activate and damages enemy shields that are present near the Burst. Similar to Biotic Explosions in concept, except that they can be pulled off in rapid succession and with ammo types. i.e. Disruptor Ammo a Cannibal, then launch a Carnage round.

When the extraction counter is at 1 second, pick the biggest target and keep firing until the enemy dies automatically due to the extraction and you get the points for it.

Walking backwards or sideways with the Pizza makes you move faster.

If you are all camping and the bad guys keep beating on you more than the others, let them. Your friends will finish the job, just don't die and keep taking those rounds to the face.

Score doesn't matter... too much.

Krogans are 5x better with an Adrenaline module... seriously.

Learn to use ammo powers to setup the tech explosions. Fire explosions are awesome.

When fighting Primes... use your ammo powers on their little drones and kill them quickly with a tech power for free, easy fire/cryo explosions. Just a little tap-tap with that SMG/Pistol w/ Fire ammo and then hit the drone with overload/energy drain/etc. to set that Prime and all his buddies on fire. The Primes are so nice, they will replace said drone in a few seconds so you can do it again.

If you have a mic and are sitting in party chat, not talking to team mates with other mics who are in game chat... you are a bad person/team mate. COMMUNICATION WINS OVER EVERYTHING.

When you realize that you guys are about to be over run... TELL YOUR TEAM "Hey guys... this is gettin' too hairy, I'm gettin' the **** outta there... heading to this spot." Alot of times they will follow suit, especially when they realize they have one less gun to stop the enemy onslaught.

Don't be scared of Banshees... they're just loud and bothersome. The Marauders/Ravagers are what will kill you.

When farming FBWGG... during pizza objectives, don't seek out bad guys to kill, just kill the ones in the path to the LZ. Leave the Salarian Engineer in the camp room and let him draw all the bad guys to him for a MUCH EASIER pizza delivery. After the pizza is delivered, all three of you can swoop in and save the day, flanking the mob that is surrounding the poor little Salarian.

This one is REALLY important IMO, b/c it saves time. When doing objective waves... when the objective is about to be completed, and there is an Atlas/Banshee/Prime near you... DO NOT KILL IT UNTIL THE OBJECTIVE IS OVER!!!!!! Killing it just means you have to kill another one. It drives me nuts on wave 10 to see some dude who got scared that the three Primes were bearing down on him, whip out the rocket and blow them away... like 5 seconds before the objective is completed. Now you have to kill 3 Primes all over again.

Cerberus is a big collection of sissies. Bring someone with a Claymore w/ AP, and someone with Stasis for the easiest games possible. Arc grenades help alot too.

Use your consumables. If you are playing on Gold consistently and not farming... you should be using consumables. U/U/G is currently the pinnacle of difficulty in this game... if you aren't using a good rail amp, power damage mod, ammo type, etc. then what the hell are you saving it for? The game isn't going to get any harder... this is it! Use the freakin' consumables!

When you jump down from a ledge, there's a lengthy landing animation that you can bypass by rolling. Quite handy for when you want to reach that downed teammate/objective faster.

When hitting objectives, especially with a small squad or solo, be aware of where the spawns are located, and if neccessary, run away from it and pull the mobs further away before you blitz the objective (since they will always follow you). That way the mobs are on the other side of the map while you can hit the objective with hopefully enough time.

Cloak mine shoot

GI 5/6/6/3/6

Drell Adept

Tactical cloak is less dependent upon weight

Various animations have 50% DR

Shockwave goes through walls

Smash goes through walls.

The Falcon

Spawn mechanics, learn them

Rocket trick for switching high priority targets

Stagger stun > DPS for pug gold

Arpen mod > all

Hunter Mode only reduces 50% BASE shield

Proxy Mine, Cryo Blast and Reave stack

Singularity "freezes" shielded enemies

Sometimes it is better to have only 3 guys in the hack circle

And many more that I can't think of

. . . can you please elaborate on this? Are you saying, for instance, that a GI/GE ends up with more than 50% of their shields if they have maxed Fitness?

-Asari Dodges drain your barrier, spamming them to get out of fire can sometimes be bad.

-Hunter mode doesent need to be on all the time.

-Geth Heavy Melee drains your shields with each pulse, doing it with hunter mode on is dumb.

-Playing caster classes with 150% doesn't give any noticably slower cooldowns, but does give you a noticably stronger weapon.
-Bring a light all-range secondary (like GPSMG, Predator) if you intend to play with shotguns such as claymores. Again, the ~10% cooldowns is hardly noticable, the ability to continue killing during hack circle objectives is.

A Human Sentinel with a sniper rifle is immune to Guardians (Throw+faceshot if they're too close for a mailslot or you're in a rush, just faceshot if you can hit the slot).

If you're on PC and have a mouse with side-buttons - map 6 and 7 to them for instant Health / Shield regen and reload-cancel.

Shooting a Guardian in the shield with anything except AP will result in no damage. Powers included.

Except for Reave which works all the time (at least with the Radius upgrade ; don't know if that still works without it).
Also, I have doubts for Shockwave (and even Throw that does little damage but still does some).
(other tips were great, thanks !)

For Adepts and Engineers

Always have 200% recharge even if you have to use one of the starter guns.
[...]
Always run away never melee.

1) Depends ; get the actual numbers. Because refraining from using a gun that will give you 190% instead of 200% is not very useful if the cooldowns go from 2.56 to 2.46. Example with this AA build using Carnifex VI. It really depends on what you need and what the gun can bring to you and in that case I'd be happier with the Carnifex VI than a Predator X (even though I love this gun).

2) Again, depends. If you're surrounded by 2-3 Husks, just heavy melee (that is, if you can't BE them or your Throw does not have the Radius upgrade).

Install the accompanying mouse software (like Logitech's Setpoint) and assign keyboard-keys to the appropriate mouse-buttons.

I agree on the hack..particularily with regard to Vanguards..who really need to move in this case three in the circle and Vanguard on killing spree is preferable to four in

But if you can be just as productive in the circle as not,,why the f*** are you not..

This is adressed to the various Silver/Gold noobs I've been stuck with

-so, AR instantly reloads weapons? Hello there weapons, haven't see you in a bit....
-so the passive equipment permanent upgrades DO drop from vet packs, eh? Hello there grenade capacity !!!!
