When you jump down from a ledge, there's a lengthy landing animation that you can bypass by rolling. Quite handy for when you want to reach that downed teammate/objective faster.

Yep - and you can also go off the ledge sideways for the same effect.

certain powers (like lash) can be cast while walking down a ladder sideways, when you start to fall you can cast it.
Will teach those phantoms to shoot in mid air >:)

Or backwards.
Or rolling backwards like I do, because that looks badass.

A funny one that I noticed in a game earlier I was like really dude?? ...a banshee is scream teleporting her way up to us...kid is shooting like a mad man one direction...banshee stops at him screams again. Kid is clueless and stays strong shooting at whatever he was. Did not move. Banshee kills him.

So with that...if a banshee is coming try moving away from her and don't stand there with your sights on non threatening targets. Lol

If your build depends on grenades, you might not want to play a game with three other grenade-spamers.

There are other combos than just BE.

Monitor the balance changes. Prevents frustration with "wtf I shot that Prime in the head and it still lives"-moments.

Scores do matter. A little bit. Checking them ingame tells you, what players you can count on if things get tough.

Even if you most def should not expect other players to watch you flank doesn't mean that watching other players flanks is a bad idea. If on Giant three guys stick to the upper control room, postion yourself at the lower end above the ladder. On Ghost, when everybody is on top of the big ramp to the landing zone, move your ass to the right side of the map, etc.

When I learned about Tech Bursts, that was quite a milestone. Instead ofspamming overload om my HE I tried setting up explosions. Great of a boost for me.

For me it was just recently: shooting a scorpion mine on a phantom will stagger here most of the time AND then she won't be able to enter her power-negating stance nor she will dodge. So shoot a scorpion mine, shoot your power when the mine detonates, power will hit. This improved my PAs ability to fight Phantoms a lot.

STG Decoy Field Manual quotations:

- Enemies fall to the decoy if they think it is best target.
- Enemies evaluate targets based on distance to them and damage they did. They don't care about enemies they don't see.
- Every enemy has its own memory length. Most forget about their target once it gets out of their sight, some keep shooting invisible or pursuing targets that run away.
- Banshee are amongst the smartest enemies. She will fall to the decoy only if she can't see engineer who planted it. Once engineer will poke out of cover - decoy becomes ineffective.
- If you have a choice between shooting banshee and distracting it with decoy, choose latter. Stuck banshee gets stomped by entire team and, if decoy was placed carefully, jams enemy traffic.
 - Decoy, placed on top of ladder, blocks it .

Situational awareness trumps all, you might be the best shot in the world, but if a husk jumps on you from behind while a ravager has a bead on you, you're dead.

You can put all of the pellets fired from the Talon onto a target at medium-long range if you shoot from cover.

Shotguns beat shield gates.

Pyros and Primes stagger when their shields go down.

Hunters will still shoot you even if they're staggered because **** you.

Marksman turns a scoped talon into a shield-gate breaking sniper rifle (though this was more useful when you could headshot primes)

If you see a novaguard looking at a target, reave before he charges, and again before he novas for back to back biotic explosions.

Edit: Now that I think about it, REAVE EVERYTHING, never is there a reason something should not be reaved. If it is already reaved, reave it again...

REAVES STACK.

Using the kick vote as an indicator of lag, whén using a weapon/class that gets ****ed by lag.

Learning that some attacks are almost unavoidable no matter how much of a roll pro you are, and as such cover is the only way to go (sadly).

Learning that most people are lame cover campers and can't play like commandos (or refusee to), when paired with people like that the best thing is to commando the first 5 waves to cut off some match time, and then stick in the area for a quick revives you may need.

That there is no point of playing Hydra/Geth/Gold, and if that ever comes up as a U/U/G result to just to leave.

That dogde is a solid part of my play style and I (gimp sp? Myself when I pick a class with no roll)

That rolling can break the magnet grab of dead (timing) or at least the human roll.

That the banshee wall hack and wall kill are new features and Not bugs :(

that Geth are OP in relation to ALL other factions in open maps.

Try to max your Common and Uncommon guns before buying Spectre Packs or Premium Spectre Packs. A lot of those gun are better than the Rare and Ultra Rare guns.

I've seen N7 level in 10s and 20s with a Saber or a Hornet but their Avenger was level one, and I wonder why you would spend 60K or 99K Credits at such a low level when you could max your Common guns with 99K Credits buying Recruit or Veteran packs.

That no matter where I am on the map if im remotely in sight the Geth Primes always shoot at me and not my team mates stood 2' right in front of them...ditto Ravagers/rocket troopers.

Climbing up ladders is a bad thing and gets me killed.

Just because you're reviving someone doesn't mean you should be looking for something to kill. I've often revived a teammate and gotten off a prox mine/shot right after.

Don't assume enemies give a damn about your cloak. Keep cover close or stay in it when possible.

Do not use tech armor on a human sentinel.

Actually, you should change this to:  Always put 6 points in Tech Armor on a Human Sentinel.  They reduced the cooldown penalty a few weeks ago.  If you put 6 points into TA, you can get 40% damage reduction, 30% power damage boost, and only 20% power speed penalty (which is almost nothing if you have close to -200% from your weapon weight.

EDIT:  The biggest thing that I learned that helps my game is:  If the other 3 people on the team are bombarding a group of enemies and it looks like they have it under control, don't rush up to join them in the bombardment to get your score up.  Instead, make sure nobody's sneaking up behind you or trying to flank.

Second is that it's often better to roll behind cover and let your shields recharge than take a risk and getting in that one last shot/power that might kill an enemy.

I can't stress this enough: don't let your guard down when you think you've secured an area, stay aware fully until the wave ends, especially those final waves.

Can't recall how many times something dumb happened to me because I wasn't on full alert.

Edit: I'm going to read through this entire thread later when I have more time. Really looks good =)

You can turn a Novaguard on Gold into a tactical nuke with liberal application of Smash. Changed a "doomed" Gold run with a Cerberus Adept + Vanguard and two Human Vanguards into Michael Bay presents Avatar.

You know.

Because the explosions were blue.

Geth are the best class ever.

Period.

Javelin is the best sniper.

Geth Pulse Rifle is amazing..... if you know how to aim.

Phantoms hack. Deal with it.

How do you do that ?

Buy a Razer Naga with 18 buttons total. I have everything except WASD mapped to the thumbgrid on my Naga.

I really really really hate this one.  It is infuriating.

This still hasn't happened to me yet.  I guess I need to charge more often.  :D

You'll get credit for anything that you were the last player to hit.  I've camped on the opposite side of the map numerous times barely scuffing the paint of mobs and the the end of the match I'll see Atlas, Atlas, Phantom, etc with my name on it.  You can get a similar outcome by blindly chucking your last grenades to the far side of the map.

Thanks!  I didn't know this one.

Mine:

Cover gives you 40% damage resistance.  This has now saved my behind from grenades about 20 times.

If you're a krogan:  when a brute charges you use your heavy melee.  You get 50% DR, the brute will frequently miss you altogether and your krogan will end up behind or beside him.

If you're a vanguard facing a brute, wait for the brute to charge and then charge him.  You will do damage and charge through the brute.

Reload cancelling a claymore is a blast.  Love that smart choke too.

Realizing that there is only a 6% change in recharge times between 200% and 180% weapon bonuses.  Then play proofing that a human sentinel is better with tech armor than without.  6/6/6/4/4 all the way.  (Tech armor still not a well designed power though.)

Playing a 6/0/6/6/6 human engineer + claymore is a fun and viable gold build.  60% cooldown = 4.3s overload.  Good enough for me.

The falcon is a great gun for team support.  Even post-nerf and even without ammo powers.

Learning the geth are cheap enemies that ignore fundamental game mechanics.  (Corralary: kroguards vs. geth are still fun.)

Learning to avoid the LZ for 90 seconds, unless I'm roleplaying with friends.  (Not many people know about this one...)

Learning the Charge rank 4 Radius is the only option.  At some point you will charge 2-3 mobs and without Radius you will always get a melee to the face.

Become friends with good infiltrators.  "On my way." ...  "Thanks for the rez."  Corollary:  Good communication conserves medigel -- in more ways than one.

note that some guns can do that without it too^^

i know... but I only use the Ap/disruptor/warp consumables in gold

and I like to see the guardian tap dance.

If you can keep him alive, the drell adept is an absolute offensive powerhouse. I am not that skilled, but I can top the charts by spamming reave and throwing cluster grenades, which happens to be an insanely fun play style as well.

Heavy Melee works instantly upon revive. On classes with fast melee you can even do two before you can move. Very useful against Phantoms that are standing over your corpse.

Actually, it was more "how do you reload-cancel" because I have seen quite a few threads about it recently but there was no definition.
