Do not ever biotic charge turrets. You will always die if they have some shields

If the targeting reticule is not RED you will miss your shots! If the enemy is right in your sights and its still not red, hes out of range.

You get all the money you are going to get at the end of the objective of wave 10. Everything beyond that is for experience or fun only. If you are farming it may be a good idea to ask everyone to die at that point so you get the money faster.

The faster you do objectives the more money you get. Max possible from
A gold match is 75k. Result : using missiles on kill the targets or pizza delivery if it will help you deliver faster is a good idea especially wave 6 or 10. Using missiles on the extraction wave is useless if youre farming gold.  I dont understand when we have wave 10 targets, nobody missiles except me then 3 people missile on extraction wave.  Wtf??

Missiling boss enemys who are targets immediately usually makes the next target a smaller easier to kill enemy.  Learn to tell what enemy the target is by their movement speed and patern.

Enemies spawn infinitely on objective waves until the objective is done.
Wave 10 hack on gold: get a rocket out to clear the hack circle of enemies and tell your team you are going to. Tell your team when you are going to use a rocket or retreat.

On pizza delivery if you have the pizza and go down use a medigel right away and keep going especially on wave 6 or 10.

Aim rockets at the enemies feet. Missing with rockets sucks.

Shock evolution of decoy is very nice. It staggers enemies. Placing decoy at tops of ladders can be very effective. Making enemies fall down ladders makes them take damage. Brutes cant climb ladders but they can hit you from below with a swipe.

If you do extraction:
During extraction wave place a shocking decoy in the path of enemies when you run to lz. Laugh very hard when you get 4 or more decoy kills when the countdown reaches zero.

Dont run to the extraction zone until less than 30s left at least.

Brute's charging attack can be dodged by slight right movement too, even without rolling.
somebody mentioned about left rolling-dodging, but in my playthrough until now, for Brute's right arm being very huge and actually the attack motion covers large area, left rolling-dodging can be dangerous time to time (of course in my case.). So why not trying right one I thought, and my batarians being unable to rolling or side step and Brute's charging attack being soft on leftside also encouraged me, I tried rightward movement. It definitely works.
First you spot the damn thing, second you secure the rightward space to dodge, third you
attack him (my case, I try to deal damage more than half of Brute's armor gauge, for safety) and
Brute starts charge-ready motion and finally when it charges to you, just slightly turn your left
shoulder toward backside (means your eyes see the west on the very spot, don't move) then just
step back a little, Brute fails to hurts you. Whole action seems like bullfighter's one, I think.
I NEVER failed dodge except the case that stupidly fails the Second step I wrote.
and you can try this with other races that don't have rolling/side step abillity.

Someone said about helping corpse, I feel the same and also not dead one helps.
For example, Ravager blocks Brute and two Brutes in a rows can be easier to deal with than two cannibals/marauders.

Last thing. don't just kick low - N7/character level players. Of course I also experienced low level
players just come in reaper gold mission and keep dying or leave the mission, but there are very
decent low level players and poor high level players too. I can't stand when two high level players
kick the N7:80 player, obsessively kill things, ignore objectives, get flanked and stay dead then I'm
the one who clean the mess. They didn't even get the good scores. Unless you are very confident
that you can end the game even alone, don't kick them. at least they can be human (or turian :o ) shields.

Preparation is more important than improvisation.

Stay mobile. Never allow troops to attack you on 2 fronts.

Always fight to your character's strengths:
Adept: Use your gun to drop shields and then hammer with powers. Set up and set off as many biotic explosions as possible. Focus on the strongest targets with your powers.

Soldier: Fight from cover. Make your shots count. Focus on one target at a time. Don't waste your powers, you'll usually be carrying heavy weapons. Grenades do lots of damage against groups but don't count on instant kills.

Engineer: Power spam. Tech Burst if you can spec for it. If you have drones/turrets, make sure you keep them up to distract enemies and deal extra damage. You'll get a lot of assists, guns are secondary.

Sentinel: They vary greatly but can all be built defensively. Learn which one you like and pick a style that works for you.

Infiltrator: Cloak, power, shoot. Cloak, power, shoot. Use the Valiant or Black Widow if you've got it. Make consistent headshots or play something else. Shoot through cover if you can still make good shots. If you're using a shotgun, cloak, get close, bang, repeat. Easy enough.

Vanguard: You're probably screwing around. I can only hope. But make sure your weapon is good in close range, keep your cool downs low and don't think you're immortal.

Make kills as efficient as possible.

Take advantage of choke points on the maps for biotic explosions, grenades, tech bursts and drones/sentries.

If you can suppress a group in their spawn point, take advantage and hit them with everything you've got and hope your team does the same. Cutting off an entire flank immediately makes any fight much easier.

Control enemy spawn points by positioning yourself near the ones you want cut off before the next wave starts.

-If you're playing geth Gold and you aren't playing a Krogan Vanguard (tank style) you aren't trying to win as hard as you could be. The thing absolutely makes a mockery of Geth with shield mods equipped.

-When running away as an infiltrator, cloak, then move perpendicular to the enemy you are trying to avoid. They will shoot where they last thought you were, so running straight away gets you shot. Being too close to an enemy also gets you detected. Know that various heat seeking rockets will follow you even if the unit firing them thinks you are somewhere that you are not (i.e. Atlas shooting his cannon at the last place he saw you).

Play biotic tag with an N7 Fury. If she's playing AF right she'll light up whole groups for BEs.

Phantoms seem to have an allergy to attacking a Fury with active AF field...use it.
Cast Dark Channel on the Banshee before she enters your AF field, then just keep throwing and watch her stagger.
Follow the glowing, when a person DCed dies it leaps to another person, keep throwing at the glowing person.
Keep AF active at all times, except between waves. Even if you get knocked out, the field will still kill...

Most important of all, knowing when to run like hell, and notice when other people are doing so in odd circumstances.

Make us of the Fury teleport melee, sometimes it can save your backside from a turret.

My Talon with pistol ultralight mod :)

Wraith...I love that shotgun, is there a mod for making it lighter or is this based on level 10?

[list][*]Always take a sidearm for the sniper rifle/shotgun.  You never know when it might come in handy!]

I agree with most points, except this one.

Your main weapon as a SR infiltrator is your only weapon. This isn't SP and Ammo boxes are plenty.

If you ever need to pull out a weapon on Gold or Plat, you are usually dead before the animation finishes and it is far more effective to simply run away.

I don't play a Sniper infiltrator anymore after Bioware killed the playstyle with nerfs, but from my time playing it when they were still strong I found that I never, ever needed a sidearm, regardless of what weapon I used (widow, BW, krysae etc).

It will serve you infinately more to simply reposition rather than pull out a sidearm as infil. You can already engage targets at all ranges.

refill your grenades while the rest of the team hunts the last enemys of the wave
never!!! run out of grenades
cast your warp bubble over spawnpoints when the team hunts the last enemys of the wave
do not try to sneak up on hunters or rocket troopers

a little a-ha moment from my last match: there was a shadow spamming powers, and I noticed that his shadow strike was setting up tech bursts. I didn't know it could... so I started timing my energy drain to his shadow strike. Now, that was fun... the kill feed was almost only made up of tech bursts :D

The game rewards specialization and punishes generalization. A team consisting of appropriate specialists will go a long way even without spectacular FPS skills.

On that note: Don't use secondary weapons, build your character to best suit your primary. (since the ULM fix this is debatable, but the second part is definitely true)

Even though any class can use the piranha, it only really shines on classes with accuracy bonus or the ability to close in fast. (GI has both, Drell and Fury is fast, KV is a beast with charge)

For platinum (aka. bosskilling-fest), sustained DPS is king. Having high burst DPS is not enough, you'll always have something to shoot at.

Use automatics with armor reduction powers, they'll work wonders.

The above two tips make a beast out of the revenant.

If you're low on lv3 consumables, buy spectre packs instead of veteran (what do you want more, 3 uncommons with a lot of crap or 3 uncommons and a rare at the same price?)

Melee attacks that visibly have an electric or fire effect do in fact set up tech combos.

On that note, Phoenix light melee is slow, but will prime a tech burst.

Some classes are just not equipped for killing certain things. Even though a shadow can't kill bosses efficiently, but can in fact decimate phantoms on platinum, which is nothing to scoff at.

- Playing gold, but only buying Veteran packs until ALL your Uncommon and Rare weapons and weapon mods are maxed. Most of your gear gets maxed this way too, but to diminishing returns after the weapon stuff. Can't tell you how annoying it is buying a PSP or SP and receiving a freaking Scimitar/Phaeston upgrade. Ironically, haven't had to buy an Equipment Pack since because the Veteran Packs filled the consumables up quite nicely.

- Reading the forums/ watching YouTube videos learning new ways to look at my character builds. EVERY character is over-powered (except the Drell Adept, so don't worry about nerfing it, its nice and weak!) if you build them right.

To be fair, none.

Testing and experimenting myself has always been the one that improved my gameplay. But I always like it when I learn some minor tirivia from these threads. :)

I've NEVER gotten Phaestorm or Scimitar upgrade from PSP's 2 gold slots. They are always rares no matter what.

For Vanguards

If you get the Vanguard Glitch before wave 6 leave the match you'll only be a burden to your team.
.

not necessarily, a PUG using a vanguard glitched in the game today and started vibrating around in mid air, but he still contributed towards the hacking circle and got it hacked that much faster, esp since he and I were the only two in the circle as the the other two players ran off to kill stuff.

Loads of good stuff above, so will just add this one for solo runs. If a device is swarmed with enemies, do not stand in amongst them and hope for the best. Even if you are a tank with shield boosts extraordinary. Lead the enemies away, avoid killing phantoms and the atlas if you can. When you have got them out of firing line of the objective run back to it and think about the best position to squat down to give you cover.

PS Just thought of another. If you are the only player standing and get knocked down with a phantom hovering over your body, stay down do not waste medigel. As soon as you revive you will get insta killed by the phantom.
