Is there any hard number on the Ultra-rare drop rate? and any reason why some people will get TWO ultra rare weapons in ONE Premium spectre pack repeatedly while others seem to require an act of congress to get even a single drop?

The rate seems kinda skewed.....Image IPB

Well, I read somewhere else in this forum that people calculated the percentage of Ultra-Rares according to their Premium Spectre Pack (PSP) to Ultra-Rare (UR) ratio. They came to the conclusion, that for the SP the UR-ratio was around 5% and for the PSP the UR-ratio was around 9%.

I personally experienced both after buying probably around a 100 PSPs, 20 Resurgence Packs and around 24 SPs. I got unlucky streaks of buying over 20 packages in a row without getting a single UR weapon. Then suddenly I got indeed two UR weapons in one PSP. But unfortunately one of those two URs were the M-90 Indra. :-(
I don't know why this "sniper" was categorized as an UR by Bioware, but it's the worst sniper I have ever seen. At least at Level I. I know it's supposed to behave like an Assault Rifle, but its shots are so unaccurate, that you can't even shoot a Guardian in the "mail slot" when you are facing him closely.

Anyhow, I got 16 URs so far buying the packages mentioned above. So my rate is now somewhat above 10%. But I got many URs right when the latest Rebellion Package came out. I don't know if Bioware had purposely changed the percentages on that day, but I got at least 3 or 4 URs with my purchases made on that day.

If Bioware is using a true Random Number Generator, it should work out for you in the long run. That's what randomness is about. Some get lucky right from the start, others have to be patient, but after a 1000 purchases, everybody should be in the same ballpark. :-)

I wish you luck with your future purchases. I know having no good UR weapons is frustrating. But then again the M-6 Carnifex or the Krysae Sniper are excellent weapons too. On Level X they are better than many URs on Level I. So you don't necessarily need URs to keep up with your team mates.

Yeah, I get it..... everything you have said is other peoples conjecture. I have had my Basic, Veteran, and Rare weapons maxed since the first couple weeks.... (Yeah I play that much) and I do nothing but buy the Premium Spectre packs. I suppose it is wonderful that I can promote my characters faster now, but that does Jack for me.... I do plenty of that on my own (N7 3062 and climbing... like that means anything)

The idea that "it will all work out" is starting to sound hollow with out some HARD FACTS FROM BW...

I run a website with over 70 members who play this game all the time, and there are MANY who have this same issue....

There are some with MAXED Ultra Rares.... (with the same amount of game time or less) and others who struggle to get any Ultra Rare past level 5

With the group I have assembled, I would have to say there are SERIOUS balance issues.... unless someone can show me otherwise...

Would someone from Bioware care to respond. Customer Support told me this was the place to get answers?

All I am looking for is Hard numbers.... not some other gamers conjecture, Or a of handed "It will work out" response from and underling.... there are lots of people with this question and they are getting frustrated with the game as a result.

When you no longer have any reason to play... (Ie a goal) Why invest the time into it? and the goal, (better weapons) is looking to be way too much of an investment of resources (peoples lesure time) for the apparent lack of reward (minimum 30-45 min for a SLIM CHANCE at a ULTRA-RARE?)

And I just dont buy these numbers, I buy nothing but "PSP" and my drop rate is no where NEAR 9%Image IPB

I agree with you. I mean, I have all the UR's except for the Black Widow. However, I have not had any luck. I do like this game, yes, but what is frustrating is buying a PSP for 99,000 to obtain nothing but Ammo. Really? *Sigh* I'll be happy with a Black Widow I, but I will not give up. Bioware, You made a fantastic Multiplayer, yes, but the UR drop rate is too low...

I've bought about 10 Premium Spectre Packs and about 20 regular ones. So far I've only seen (out of the most recent DLC) one character and two of the guns. The reinforcement pack system keeps giving me things that I already have, don't want, or don't use.

I'd just like to actually get what I want and will actually use. But instead, I have to put down thousands of credits to get what I want. Although I will admit that I do have some of the best guns, I like to see how the new ones are.

A friend of mine on Live said that Bioware/EA should make the reinforcement pack system add a trading system. Where you can trade guns, characters, and equipment with other players.
