 This is a thread that I will hopefully use to garner interest and support for a fanfiction that I am working on. "Burning Skies" is just a filler name I came up with until I get it closer to being finished. This thread serves a few purposes:

1) Research. I may ask questions here if I can't find the answers online elsewhere. 
2) Pre-release hype. Knowing about a story and wanting to read it only motivates me to finish it. As all writers know, motivation is sometimes hard to muster. :]
3) Ideas and support. I will be sharing small pieces here and there and letting the community offer its piece on how it sounds. I don't have a dedicated editor, so I need as much QA as possible.

Now for a bit of background on the story proper. It follows an original character, Professor Jack Hearkgrove, from the end of ME2 to the end of ME3. He runs a biotic academy, being an ex-Alliance biotic himself. Just before the Reapers attack, the Academy is raided and Jack is taken prisoner.. by who and for what purpose, you'll just have to find out. :]

The story will focus heavily on the psychological impact of the war on Jack (but unlike the games, Jack won't have galaxy-saving in mind so it focuses more on him) and of course, thrilling action scenes. I love biotics, and how their actions can violently dictate combat. I want to bring the biotic to life through words, as mass effect fields and singularities tear the environments and people apart. 

While I may not support EA/BioWare's business practices, I still love the lore in the Mass Effect universe (even if it is broken in some places) and I want to create a gem among fan fictions. To aid in that, I would like to have the community's support. I'll write it regardless, but all the help I can get (volunteer editors, etc) will only bolster the quality of the product. Money is always appreciated, but honestly. Who gives money to fan fiction writers.

Anyway, I hope to hear back from some of you soon. I've already gotten the storyline put together, now to begin the task of writing it.
