The title says it all. He's the last character to get an update, and feels left out. Show some love to the tiny guy, ok BIoware? Many people want to know about him.

About time someone put a romance thread up. It wouldn't be a Bioware forum without it.

Speficially that Maria put it up. The only step missing for it to feel like home is for it to be locked after 20 pages.

Don't forget Blue ogre with male body parts.

On another note. I foolowed you guys here. Can someone make an Oghren thread here too.

This is for you, Oghren fans of the Dragon Age Forums.

Image IPB

Thanks to Lucy for grabbing the link from the DA forums.

"Oghren of House Kondrat was once a promising member of the Warrior Caste. His house was not especially high-ranked, but many of its members, Oghren included, had won notable victories in the Provings and were considered to be rising in prestige. When a Smith Caste family with plenty of money but no political connections offered their daughter in marriage, his family accepted the match. And then everything changed.

His wife, Branka, was named a Paragon for her achievements. All of House Kondrat joined her newly-made noble House Branka... and vanished with her into the Deep Roads.

As time passed and it became more and more clear that Oghren had been abandoned, he became the butt of jokes throughout Orzammar. He took to drink, which didn't especially help. Drunk and humiliated, he challenged another warrior to a Proving over an insult and killed him. The match was meant to be fought to first-blood. As a punishment, he was stripped of his house and barred from bearing arms: The only fate worse for a warrior than exile."

seriously?

is this official?

well then now I know the one character least likely to be a regular on my party

No, not really. I just like that phrase because I am an italian emo. I also do not think my character looks like Britney Spears. I really do not. Not one bit.

May i ask why? Is he too much of a cliché? As that's the only drawback for me - apart from that i think he sounds awesome. Way more likeable than Zevran or Leliana imo

Oghren seems badass. I loved washed up/defeated characters who have to pull it together for something important, a la Creasy from Man on Fire or Nanashi from Sword of the Stranger.

well...

I mean come on

the guy got abandoned by his wife and hiw whole newly nobilized family AFTER he was the reason (through marriage) that his family actually got where they got....he sounds like a loser...I mean with no further explanation of the reasons why or how it happened he is no tragic hero/guy-who-needs-another-chance-because-he-deserves-it...he just sounds like a deadbeat loser

of course

as more info on the details of his situation emerge I could very well change my mind

He wasn't a loser though, he was one of the best of the Warrior Caste, that gets him a fair amount of respect. Warrior/Smith caste is very well respected in their own right, even if their House isn't particularly well known.

still...you got to ask to yourself if he was so well respected why is he the DAO version of Syd the Sloth?

I absolutely adore the sound of Oghren. Thanks for finding that information - I was more than a little ambivalent about him before, but now he's fighting for a spot in my first party! Hopefully his character profile video will be up sooner rather than later...

Anyone got any idea as to why Oghren got left behind? Was it just that his wife disliked him, and if so, why did she dislike him?

I met the Paragon Branka only once during my stay, and I consider it an odd occasion indeed. Surrounded by those of her house, the ill-tempered woman was draped in the finest clothing and jewelry and obviously revered even above the highest nobles—perhaps even the King—yet she seemed to enjoy none of it. The burden of being a living legend is great indeed, it appears. (from codex)

What kind of woman is she really?

There will be no group on the site, though. It goes without saying. I just happen to say it a lot anyway.

Also GIVE US OUR OGHREN VIDEO!

Has nobody found out where I got the Latin from?Image IPB

If you go to the character page on the dragonage.bioware website, Oghren's blanked out, but if you type his name in place of another character's in the address bar, you go here: dragonage.bioware.com/characters/oghrenImage IPB

At which point I try and remember my Latin...bah!

Still, I find putting a placeholder in latin to be AWESOME.

I'm wierd like that.

It's lorem ipsum. Nonsense. Even if you remembered your Latin, it wouldn't do you any good but a headache.

It's because of their size
