I doubt Oghren goes into the deep roads.I bet its hard for him to get anyone to help him also.

Well thats just great, now I'm forced to take Oggie on every playthrough. One reason for being the same voice actor that does good ol Wolvie, two because he's flippant hillarious! I had about 3 Oghasms at the end of that vid. "Warden! Ya gotta hear this one!" SOOO SOO very awesome! Thank you Bioware staffers who worked so hard on this title over the past 4+ years, thank you thank you thank you!

Last I looked the game is yet to be released.

Well thanks for informing me of that and basically saying I can't be excited that the long wait is over in a week and thankful to the people that put the hard work into the game. No really thanks. Image IPB

You're giving them your over-the-top gratitude for something that's not even out yet, and might as well somehow just feel wrong and be crap.

But you're right, it is indeed heartwarming to see how somebody can be so excited. I'm excited too, but instead of thinking "thank you thank you thank you!" I'm thinking  "Please be good please be good please be good!" :P

Well aren't we mr optimism.. look, bottom line? Its a Bioware game, worrying about it being good is pretty silly to begin with. Just saying. Image IPB

Look, we get it, you don't much like Oghren, now if you could kindly stop trolling the thread and attempting to start petty flamewars with peope  that do like Oghren, I think the majority would appriciate it.

In some ways he reminds me off the dwarf (what was his blasted name?? >_<) from NWN2. More of an alcoholic, but a lover of fighting, and some deep seated family issues.

Blackwhirlwind was kinda cool. I only played through that game once though, and I didn't use him much except in the Imperial City.

From the looks of things, I agree, Khelgar(Thanks for the name btw, I was about to go boot up the game just to check heh) was actualy rather.... shallow. I was just noting the similarities between the two. Of course, it's a VERY common character theme.

EDIT: And yes, Black Whirlwind was cool... but I liked the Silk Fox(That was her name right?)  more.

[OCD]Khelgar was NWN2, therefore Obsidian made him, not Bioware.[/OCD] Drunk burly fellows are fun, though.

Wrex is kinda the closest thing they have to the dwarven stereotype in Mass Effect. And he dosnt realy fit it at all.

He's a dwarf! They're supposed to make bad jokes and fall down from drinking too much beer.

Even though this dwarf has a reason for it :crying:

Oh well guess not that popular...<_<

Speaking of being popular, you sure do have a lot of friends.

That comment just hit me as a wave of patheticness.

But indeed, no need to flame on Oghren too many times. Once Arttis made his point he should've stopped talking about it.

What I do want to flame about, however, is not whether Oghren is cool or not. Nope. I wanna flame about the dwarves in general. I mean, I never liked them due to the fact they keep their culture and traditions, killing eachother off and enslaving their own kind, while they are -- quite obviously! -- a dying race. For that reason alone I scoffed at the dwarves already. And then I played Dragon Age Journy's and I read how the dwarves were onto a suicide mission (which they themselves realized!!!!!) of retaking a certain fort.  "Honor demands we try to retake it." Or something, that dwarf guy said.

Dwarves are a suicidal race who don't give a damn they're about to be extinct. With the way they're living, I'm giving it a month or 2 before that happens. It's either really unrealistic, or the dwarves are just stupid dumb animals.

Anyway, that's my reason for not wanting a dwarf in my group. Maphesta's role-play is that he hates the race for this exact reason, so I hope I can feed Oghren to a dragon as some kind of diversion or something!

Theronyll, to counter your view on not having Oghren in your party - Did you see his new video? Honestly, his ideals on Orzammar seem to be different to what you perceive. He states that he wants to save his city, because for better or worse, he has gone through a lot with it. He seems to be a grizzled old man who has gone through a lot of harship, and yet despite all this overcomes such tragedies by holding his sense of honour/morals close.

This, of course, is an interpretation, but I couldn't see myself not recruiting someone because of their race and/or residence. It is always about the individual in a narrative such as this. I could call you a racist... oh, wait. I already did. Whoops.

Maphesta is indeed a racist :) Oghren might be a cool, good old guy, and although Maphesta might even realize this.. he will not let Oghren join the party because of his motives that you used against my statement. He tries to save a city of a race that is working hard to annihilate itself. If the story lets me, Maphesta will turn his back to the demise of the dwarves.

Maphesta will, however, sympathise with the predicament which is Oghren's wife whom dissapeard into the Deep Roads. Maphesta has forgotten what love feels like, and because his quest is to find it... he shall help others who lost it.

(Edit/Add: I just read your signature. "Doth rend the region: So, after Pyrrhus' pause, a roused vengeance sets him new a work..." I know the play by heart ^^ So... yeah, nice sig. ^_^)
