In my case, sometimes a failed connection, the game is jerky, the movement slows down or I?m hanging in the air, then left the game.
Sometimes I get the player going bodyguard behind me finishing off my enemies so that only punctuete me to help (assistance) then also left the game, this bothers me more than to be left in the middle game.

But, thats the host...  If you have that message, the host left, so host problems no longer apply.  Stay, see if the new host (it could be you) has a better connection.

Yes, please Bioware -

add a button to the UI when the host has left message pops up -

have one button saying 'Continue' and the other 'Exit'

Yup. Can't tell ya how often the wave restarts and I'm alone.

Not sure how it works - I assume the remaining three players' clients somehow negotiate who will be the leader and therefore if you come back alone it means that either the logic failed and more than one was made leader or else there's some problem with the link between you and the other players. Sadly, when this happens (thankfully very very rare for me), I wonder if the other game is still going and I've dropped out of it...

I agree with this. I often play with a friend of mine, and had the host leave, or migration issues.  It would restart the wave and I would be by myself, yet my friend would be telling me he is still in the game with the other person(s).

I fail to connect and sometimes the graphics card and the screen stays black or freezes the image, whetever it should fix some things, but I do not think he meant to slop people heading to offend other players or the least not in general.

I used to stay. Then I realized that most of the time I was the only person who did. Now I only bother if there are credits on the line, in which case I'll just throw myself at the enemy and get it over with.

Of course sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised and get to keep a team. But I think that's happened...twice? Maybe?

It's a bad GUI design. Windows has taught people that when a message pops up, you click the button to make it go away. In this case, however, the button doesn't exit the window, it exits you out of the game. It actually took me like 2 weeks before I realized that's what was going on.

If the message would just have an "OK" button that kept you in the game, people would stay. It's just automatic response on their part.

This is an excellent point. I had no idea so many were unintentionally exiting! I think I might have exited for the same reason when I started out but have gotten accustomed to ignoring the urge to click the button.
This is really something Bioware should fix.

I always stay around, because it's fun to see what you'll be left with. A Krogan Vanguard and myself (Batarian Soldier) once got left behind on wave 4 on Silver, and we made it all the way to extraction. I was pretty proud of that, and it just being the two of us made us work REALLY well together. Probably one of the most fun matches I ever played.

actually I've accidentally exited the game when the host leaves before. Was right in the middle of attempting a melee and suddenly my "b" for "bash" button turns into "b" for "bye-bye" button.
