For me, what I love - what I'm always looking for, and rarely seem to ever find - is awesome armor options. mass effect did well, i thought. DA:O and DA2, I really had to go to the modding-land to get something i could even endure wearing for the game. Especially for the female player character, good armor seem hard to find. It seems like the female armors are always just something that was made into a girl item from the male design (and so it looks very clunky, masculine, even awkward) OR it's so ridiculously impractical-sexy (N7 dress, cough, cough, gowns with feathers on them? nughhhh) that I would never use it.
DA2 and DAO were okay, but again, I kept finding i didn't *quite* like it and ended up going out to the nexus for mods. (Amell Arms, Phoenix armory, etc.) basically, more chainmail, less bikini, but something that doesn't look like a woman wearing a man's body. so, short story, what i'd pay extry for is good armors for my character. yep. I dress up my avatars like dolls, and i'm not ashamed to admit it. What? you don't do the same?

If not something like that cloth maps are nice but personal diaries/sketchbooks from without the world would be pretty awesome.
Also (I know it's not on topic but still) Never, ever exclusive in-game content that non-collector's edition purchasers cannot get. Some posters have said it would be awesome but it would be criminally stupid and just bad form. People are already Stupid-Angry about BioWare you don't need them to start getting Smart-Angry.

Can't do that you say? Then why should any of us want a game that has more stuff that doesn't affect the game itself when we buy it if the game isn't any good that we want to keep replaying it?
Let me list the games below made completely under EA's supervision of BioWare after they purchased you:
DA2- Colossal Failure
ME3- See Above
SW:TOR- Loses more players than gains
I think we know what is going on here. Unless it's a handwritten letter of David Gaider and Jennifer Hepler's resignation letters I want no physical item in the collector editions of the games.

How accurate would the costumes have to be?
Hm. I'd expect for anyone playing a noble to be wearing a codpiece, at the very least! (Totally kidding, I hope I never have to see anyone wearing one. Ever again.)
You probably couldn't even cover one person's travel expenses for $500 these days though, so there goes my plan ...

Now there's an idea! Or you could just go with an instructional "Dance the Remigold" DVD as a second-tier item?

- $70 - $100: For this price point, I'd love to see an art book, map, a soundtrack and exclusive print. It can be a simple postcard-sized print, not numbered or anything, but something that you can only get from the CE. A high quality tin (a la the ME3 CE) is a good idea, too. All of these should be added to any CE, including all the price points below.
- $101 - $200: All of the above (art book, map, soundtrack, print), only the map would be cloth/parchment. Add in a mid-quality statue. Something along the lines of the Anduin dragon statue we got in Skyrim or the Darth Malgus statue from The Old Republic's CE...but if you do a statue of a character, make sure it's a faction-neutral character. Some were less than pleased that they were forced into an Empire statue if a fan was a die-hard Republic player, for instance. Since any future DA game would likely be mostly single-player, it's easier to pick a neutral figure. In DA:O, the Archdemon would've been great; in DA2, I think Varric or Flemeth would have gone over well, since they're neutral characters. Can't romance them, can't kill them, etc.
- $201 - $300: All from the first category. When we start getting into this price territory, we are getting into the higher expectations from fans as well as a much more limited run. I'd suggest, from this point on, having these be "Ultimate Collector's Editions" with a limited number, as well as a regular Collector's Edition - probably the first category. Look to Amalur for a great example of this type of release. In the $151 to $200, I'd suggest a limited run of approximately 5,000 - 10,000, depending on your projected preorders. An incredibly high quality statue of a neutral character, with a COA and only released with this. Bonus points if the box or character is signed by the artist. If not a statue, I would highly recommend (and frankly, covet) a leather-bound illustrated copy of the Chant of Light. Again, bonus points, but this time, if signed by the writers!
- $301 - $450: This is the super hardcore fan category (I fall into this, if the price justifies the awesomeness...I'd totally save up for months to afford something excessively grand). I wouldn't go above $450 regardless; that's asking people to drop too much money. In this price point, you have a lot of leeway. I'd recommend an even more limited run, probably 3,000 to 5,000. Definitely not over 5,000 copies made. If we were talking Mass Effect, my instant answer would be "legit high-end gun replica!" That said, we are talking about Dragon Age...so I say: "legit high-end dagger replica!" Adding in the Chant of Light book (doesn't have to be signed) would be a great thing. I'd easily drop $200+ on an ultimate CE that included a dagger replica and a Chant of Light "Bible." Obviously this would include the above standard CE fare: soundtrack, art book, map, nice tin/box.

If you wanted to own a piece of Dragon Age history in a collector’s edition of a future hypothetical title, what item (or kind of item) would you most treasure?
- Concept art posters.
- Loghain statue of him punching Chevaliers, flipping over tables, and riding a horse in the midnight rain.
- A bust of my Dwarven Warden -- he's the most awesomest, bestest, cooliest Dwarf Warden there ever was.
- Map of Thedas.
- A 1 foot to 2 feet Merrill figure that talks exactly like her. Further lulz would be had if she came in a box and said something Merrill-y about being in a box.
- Soundtracks.
- A book filled with all kinds of lore, mostly new or at least evenly split.
- The Chant of Light: Unabridged Version.
- Joining chalice.
- A badass longcoat emblazoned with griffons. Or a cloak. Hell, just give me some black armor with a cape that has the emblem of the Grey Wardens.
- A copy of Anders' manifesto
- Lambert's letter to the Divine.
- Special free DLC where the PC meets a naked, drunken Oghren riding a gorilla into battle against the Darkspawn. And then they go off on an adventure together, with Oghren talking about the schleets. Yes, I know I'm strange. But you have to admit, the lulz this would cause would be pretty massive even though it's a frightening notion.
- Special DLC for DAO that allows Dwarf Nobles to take the throne upon returning to Orzammar, as the lore and society of Orzammar would allow and should make possible, and should've been there in the first place. Comes complete with the opportunity to traverse both new and old thaig locations to defeat Darkspawn as you claim the lost glory of the Dwarves. Can even renovate the thaigs.
What can I say? I really hated how that option wasn't present in the game for my Dwarf Nobles. Made no sense whatsoever.

Couldn't come up with anything sufficiently crazy, other then the naked and drunken Oghren cameo above.

Oh, what a wonderful question! I always hope that companies will ask this question, as I'm a huge supporter of collector's editions and lately I feel many of them have been lacking. Skyrim is probably the only exception to that. My answer is dependent on a few factors, the main one being price. Collector's editions can vary wildly in price, and so I'll be giving you a few answers based on different price points. You done asked for my opinion, and I do love sharing it! Hope this helps you guys with any thoughts.

I don't really see the point in spending twice the amount for a game with goodies when I know those goodies are just gonna be sitting around on my shelf.
Otherwise, what I'd want (and this is just menial) with a copy of the next Dragon Age, would be a statue of the protagonist much like the Ezio statue (http://dyn3.media.fo...square-true.jpg).
...Along with DLC.

Still, the Print and Map kind of deal is pretty standard right? Id like to see Bioware shake it up a little. Now I can't wear jewelry (nickle allergy) but there was a lovely set of Paragon/Renegade earrings floating around the net. So maybe a lapel pin set of similar taste? Like Hawke's crest, the Grey Warden symbol, or the bloody dragon from the game start. As for the statue - it's about dragons right? We already have Flemeth, so how about the Archdemon or maybe the Queen of the Blackmarsh? Heck make it an action figure or glowing in the Queens case. Or if it's weapons, I'd like to see Vigilance or the Keening Blade (heck gimme both). If you want art do a deck of cards (King could be Alistair). And instead of dice, a set of runes - that'd be pretty awesome actually.
As for DLCs. Most item content tends to be more or less useless. You either get them too late, you can't sell them for any money or they'e pretty much the same as any other item. And I don't see extra missions / quests going over too well what with ME3's From the Ashes or DA2's Exiled Prince (why did I bother?) being buyable almost immediatly to the masses. If you must go this route, try the Black Emporium again and a Mabari that isn't a party member or summon. Heck, a griffin or dragonling.

Soundtracks are always a huge bonus for me, and indeed one of the main reasons I buy the World of Warcraft Collector's Editions for each expansion.Majulla wrote...
I love getting soundtracks for the game especially when it includes exclusive tracks that you will not be able to get anywhere else. Music has always played a huge role in a game for me.
As far as more of a "memorabilia" type item I can hold or look at, I have a great fondness for the small cloth map that came with the Neverwinter Nights Collector's Edition.

Along those lines, I would love to have a poster of a detailed map of Thedas. If at all possible, with even more details -- more place names, and some additional fine tuning of all of the fonts than the current available map (Haven sticks out a bit), and most importantly a scale representation within the map key so we can get a fix for distances.
24in wide at the very least, 36in would be nice.

Large Lithograph
Cloth Map
Soundtrack
Miniature Replica of Characters or Items
High Quality Full Size Replica of Unique Equipment
Risk: Dragon Age Edition
Additional in game content
Access to all future DLC
I'd love to get a full size replica of Vigilance in all its glory. A leather bound tome of the Chant of Light would also be nice.
Of course this all would need to be broken down into tiers, perhaps something like a full sized replica being extremely limited or only available through a contest.

My girlfriend feels the same way as you do about the female armor and outfits in Dragon Age and Mass Effect. She would definitely love to have more choices for armor and outfits for her female character. So if adding that to a collector's edition is what needs to be done to make it possible, I'm sure she would be more than happy to purchase it.
