My favorite: Quarian M Engineer (AoE build) with Vindicator. Quick cooldown, destroys groups in seconds, effective at almost all ranges thanks to AR.

The rest:
- Any infiltrator + Valiant
- Krogan Vanguard 6/0/6/6/6 + Eviscerator
- Batarian Soldier with melee - shield regen bonus and grenades at lvl 3 (just in case) + Grall
- Geth Infiltrator (Cloak and HM maxed) + GPS (Why they can have Hunters and not us?)
- Phoenix Adept + Phalanx (For long range situations)
- Turian Sentinel 6/6/6/4/4 (incredible useful with Adepts and Engineers around)  + Mattock
- Turian Soldier (Focused on Marskman) + Phaeston.

I like playing a Krogan Vanguard melee only just for fun but since the rage damage bonus isn't working I play other classes so as to not hinder my team (by hindering my fun).

I plan on making a video about said class soon.

Does not matter. You either have a good team or a bad team. class/weapon selection is fairly irrelevant (all it does is make the game slightly faster/slower) when you play with good players.

My most successful i.e. effective build is an asari justicar. She is a one trick pony, relying on reave and a phaeston most of the time. But recently I found more fun in playing the Phoenix adept. And I would play the asari and krogan vanguard more often if it weren't for the glitch.

Justicar adept is my favourite class because of the balanced blend of shooting and biotics. The class would be better if there were more gold worthy assault rifles to go alongside her weight reduction passive (dont have ultra rare harrier). I'm more effective with a pistol on this class but pistols are getting boring for me now and I'm looking for viable alternatives.

Most efficient?

My Metalhammer
Gi+Revenant and either gps or hurricane, however i feel to kill phantoms with ;)

Tc 4 Damage
PM 5 Radius/DamageDebuff
HM 6 Accuracy/ROF/Sight (went with damage for a long time, but i like to get quicker in and out)
AI 6 All weapon boni
Hardware 5 All Shields

It is my most efficient for the simple reasons that i can bring my revenant into any position i need and fire thanks to hm/tc/pm a stupidly powerfull salvo that makes short work of most mobsquads (this btw is also the one i die very quick at the slightest error, which is why i prefer to use it when i get a run anyways)

Rogues ftw :bandit:

My most fun tho is The Reaver

AJ+MY usual weaponry ;)
Bubble and reave for max damage output (including that 75% against defenses)
Justicar for weapons but instead of hs bonus the power bonus (more reave power)
And max shields

Just set up a nest, hammer away, stagger with reave and anything coming too close explodes in the bubble, and also takes more damage in it, allowing for a effective fighting retreat, not as durable as a soldier, but its something about a blue girl with a big cannon ;)

Inbetween these 2 is the FemSoldier, with nothing but a revenant

Arush specced for defense and melee damage, the additional duration kills me with because i cannot get my shields as often back (anyone knows if these stack when shields are full?)

Else frags, maximum damage with extra against shields, and usual max shields and weapon damage

I just like to play my all black/yellowstriped hornet firing 588 bullets nonstop at anything that isnt in my team (and occasionaly vorcha and geth teammates)

And the remaining classes boil down to "anything where a revenant fits is enjoyed by me, especially vorcha"

*edit*
Another favorit if it werent for the inagility is the turian soldier, marksman specced to accuracy and hs bonus is devastating on a revenant

Some fun builds that I like:

Drell Adept using AoE Reave + Cluster Grenades is fun getting non missile kill streaks.

Vorcha melee + health regen, running around ambushing is also a treat.

The offensive bubble with the Asari Justicar is also a welcome change of pace.

Two most effective are MQI w/Krysae (I refuse to use it off of gold, it's that... good) and SI w/Claymore. But the entertainment value on those are getting smaller. I only use them when I think the gold room needs them.

The best combination of effectiveness and entertainment for me is the novaguard.   Never a dull moment with that...  It's the class I have the most fun with, so I'm glad that it's also very effective.

EDIT: Can't seem to type today...

Asari Adept with Carnifex is probably my bread and butter, though I run a Geth Melee build (and the obligatory Male Quarian Infiltrator with the Krysae) a lot as well.

I tend to play all classes, though, so not really one that tends to stick out. But my AA is the one I fall back on when I know I need to do well in the match. (ie, when I play Gold.)

I think my AA is one that I'm very entertained with, though my GI and MQI are tons of fun too. There's not really any class that I don't have fun with. Even the Soldier can be entertaining if you just Krogan Melee or Falcon Punch everything to death.

Er well my highest scoring chars have been justicar and asari vanguard. Weapon wise im always swapping them around trying to find something that i like, which i struggle with. Justicar i dont really find to be fun, its effective but kinda bland. Vanguard can be more satisfying, a well timed charge to get the husk off of a squaddie makes me happy, same with a well timed grenade, but i do also find her incredibley frustrating to play wether its because charge glitched out or there was a slight lag and i died mid charge or just because i cannot find a weapon that gels well with her.

The guns that i consider to be most fun i use the least because they just dont gel well with the class i want to use or i just find them too slow and frustrating for gold. Example being the widow, love the feel of it, the sound of it the chunk ****** reloading sound, its so heavy i dont use it at all.

The classes i find most fun i rarely take to gold, quarian engineer and cerby adept are probably my favs (burn all the mobs! throw all the mobs around!)

Although you consider it your most effective build / weapon combination, is it also the one you are most entertained with?

I think the most effective build / weapon combinations are pretty well-known and you'll see little deviation from them across players. If someone wants max damage, max efficiency, they'll go for an Infiltrator specced for weapon damage and a high burst damage weapon that doesn't suffer much from shield gate, such as the Claymore, Reegar, Krysae, Talon, Black Widow or somesuch.

My personal favorite combinations are far from being the most effective though they have to remain viable, so I like a power-specced Cerberus Vanguard with the Hurricane, a power-specced Quarian Female Engineer with an Eviscerator and an offensive bubble-specced Asari Justicar Adept with a Vindicator. They "work", but I know I won't be able to help the team as much with them as I could with your ubiquitous Geth Infiltrator with Claymore/Krysae. Still, there's no shortage of Infiltrators so I'm not too bothered.

The most effective yet unsatisfying class for me is the Geth Infiltrator, especially with the claymore. I suspect withe a Krysae its even worse but I have been avoiding that sniper rifle on infiltrators. GI is a one trick pony.

I feel that I am somewhat effective with the JA/falcon and PV/pistol, but the play style is so circumstantial and versatile that I enjoy them a lot more.

My most effective class is the Geth Infiltrator (Valiant I + Extended Barrel + Sniper Rifle Amp II). Proximity Mine plus three shots under cloak makes things go away quickly. My Asari Justicar is far worse for random play, but if I can find another biotic to combo with it's brutal.

The Geth Infiltrator isn't always a lot of fun, however. The Justicar is always a blast, but the most fun I have in a match is running around with a female Quarian Infiltrator Sabotaging everything into oblivion, or taking out a Krogan/Turian/Human Soldier and mowing things down with a rapid-fire weapon.

Geth Infiltrator melee/Claymore build is the most effective for me. But I use a lot of characters, from all classes, although I end up using the Krogan Sentinel with a Claymore a lot (love the Claymore/love being a tank).

Uh huh...

This was the build I submitted to the "worst possible builds" thread the other day. It was rated quite highly there, as you probably can imagine.

I used Eagle I with pistol melee stunner and scope though. You can actually kill things with the Javelin and Crusader, and cooldown time doesn't matter when your only powers are Pull and CGs.

Seeing the poster... I am also really afraid of characters being nerfed. But.. my most efficient character is Melee Krogan Soldier who charges blindless into enemy after throwing a grenade in Gold.

I have numerous builds that are fun and effective:

- Krogan Death Train:

Krogan Vanguard specc'ed for full Charge, Barrier, Passive and Rage (even though it doesn't work, or else it would be one of my most liked classes bar none). Usually runs with a Carnifex (Stunner/AP) or when I want to go all carnage it's either Eviscerator (Bayonet/AP) or Graal (EB/Bayonet).

- Asari Commando:

Asari Vanguard specc'ed for full Charge, Stasis (Vulnerability), Passive and Fitness. Running around with the Eviscerator (EB/AP). She's literally THE Run&Gun character for me. Charge in, pop heads, Stasis tougher targets, pop their heads too, charge some more, rince and repeat. This setup is ridiculously effective against Cerberus.

- Batarian Bludgeon Master:

Batarian Soldier specc'ed for full Ballistic Blades (exploding), Blade Armor, Passive and Fitness (all melee). Runs around exclusively with the Graal (EB/Bayonet). Ballistic Blades->Graal shot for stagger->Heavy melee->dead, rince and repeat. More or less useless against bosses, but utterly rips apart everything else.

- Gooey Geth

Geth Infiltrator specc'ed for full Tactical Cloak (melee damage), Hunter Mode, Proximity Mine (damage taken) and Advanced Hardware (full melee). Activate HM, see targets, grin and start the melting. Running around with either the GPS for some longrange (EB/Bayonet) or the Claymore for the extra-oomph against bosses (Bayonet/AP).

- 300M, Headshot

Quarian Male Infiltrator specc'ed for full Tactical Cloak (bonus power), Tactical Scan, Arc Grenades (DoT evolution) and Passive. Runs around with the Claymore (EB/AP) giving the Grim Reaper its due headcount of dead bosh'tets. Nothing more to say about that one really, it's the classical shotgun infiltrator.

- Zap-Blamm

Salarian Infiltrator specc'ed for full Tactical Cloak (damage), Energy Drain (damage), Proximity Mine (damage taken) and Passive (power damage). Runs around with the Widow X (the Javelin doesn't vibe with me yet, maybe later). Standard MO is zap if it has shields followed by a headshot, or PM it if it's armored followed by a headshot or whatever spike-damage I can get.

- Bluesplosions

Asari Adept specc'ed for full Stasis (Bubble), Warp, rank 5 Throw, full Passive, rank 3 Fitness. Running around with either the Carnifex or the Scorpion. Prime->Blow, stasis->Blow and the occasional shooting stuff. Scorpion for bubbled enemies->killstreak.

All those builds/playstyle are pretty much the most effective I have and all of them are a hell lot of fun to play. My Engineers are pretty good also, but not quite as thrilling and Sentinels are ... meh. Master-of-none.

Salarian Infiltrator
Drell Adept
Quarian Male Engineer

All 3 of these I find very enjoyable to play because their power sets are, in my opinion, some of the best in the game. For the Salarian I've felt this way ever since the demo. The main trend between all of these that I like is having a strong method of dealing with masses of enemies: Cloaked Proximity Mines, Pull+Reave, Reave+Cluster, Arc+Incinerate+Arc. In addition, Proximity Mine, Reave (sort of, for Biotics), and Tactical Scan all provide a team-wide debuff of sorts. This can keep me useful at all ranges. Being useful is what makes my fun-o-meter tick.

I do play most other classes as well, but usually not as effectively or fun...ly. Occasionally there will be an amusing group of people in a lobby that will go along with playing 4 of the same class (Krogan, Human Vanguards), which usually ends up being a funny time for all involved. The occasional physics goof with enemies rag-dolled by biotics is funny too, like the amazing flying Cerberus ballerina.

Most effective - Salarian Infiltrator, Geth Engineer, Asari Justicar, Batarian Soldier, Turian Sentinel
Most entertaining - Male Quarian Infiltrator, Vorcha Sentinel, Batarian Soldier, Phoenix Adept, Human Engineer

So the only one I find both effective and entertaining is the Batarian Soldier - DAT PUNCH!

I have one or two loadouts that are my go-to ones for when I just want to have a quick game. They are still fun to use (AA for example) but are mainly built to kick arse.
Then, when I'm in the mood, I'll switch over to some other loadouts that are more fun/experimental, but not nearly as effective.
I tend to test a lot of different styles/combos/strategies etc. Variety in this game is really good and adds to replayability.
