He was fit to carry a sniper rifle and shoot with it. Quite healthy, I would say.

Well, Thane did a number on Kai Leng when he could barely even run without difficulty. I say Thane is the more talented of the two without question.

I'm reasonably certain that if Thane had been in the state of health he was in through most of ME2 (and he wasn't all that healthy then; something like 42% of one of his lungs was already badly deteriorated), Kai Leng's neck would've been snapped in three places by the end of that fight.

Thane.

He was able to keep Kai Leng busy long enough to save that Councillors life. And he was almost dead, even without the wound he received from Kai Leng.

In short: Thane rules and Kai Leng is not the "arch nemesis" of Shepard he should have been.

Okay, but seriously - Thane. I think Tali with a suit rupture would be able to kill Leng. Oberloading his shields and then shooting him with shotgun. Or Liara, singularity and then headshot... Or even Joker! M.

Which Kai Leng? The horribly written moron from the game or the one from the novels? (The one who kills several armored turians with only a knife.) Sorry, I was just very disappointed over how they handled him in the game. But a match from when the two of them were at their best? I'd still probably have to give the nod to Thane but I would not be shocked to see Kai Leng win either.

Dangit... I so wanted to post the Indiana Jones Swordsman scene with Leng's head plastered over the swordsman and Thane's over Indy... but I can't turn it up.

According to Mordin, indoctrination makes one lose higher cognitive functions.
So without reaper upgrades, Kai Leng could probably give Thane a run for his money.
but that Kai Leng in ME3? No way.

He was past his expiration date according to the bad writing, because this "nine months ago" was on board the Normandy, and I'm sure that dr Chakwas didn't tell him that he's got only three months to live, he was still in good condition at the end of ME2 (which was also said in LoTSB). But he had to be made so ill and "past his expiration date" in ME3 so his death would be more fitting.


It's still sad end to be killed by someone like Kai Leng. Someone said that everyone had to act incompetent so that Kai Leng could win. Sadly, it seems true.. why impale yourself on his sword, when you can shoot him?

He tried shooting him... Several times. And, ME3 is in 2186. ME2 is in 2185.

An asassin should know that close combat with someone bearing sword isn't the best option. He should try more shooting.
I am aware that ME3 is in 2186.

As for handling a Krogan:

^^lol, yea, didn't the Shadow Broker have a file on Thane that said something like that...?
And Kai Leng has extremely strong shields, and the only way to bypass shields is hand-to-hand combat (Shadow Broker fight So if he tried shooting him at range the councilor would most likely end up dead.
