  • Some people like to swim against the stream.

  • Some people defend it just to troll.

  • Some people just don't care about the ending (though they seldom defend it.They just ignore the debate)

  • Some people suffer from blind fanboyism/brand loyalty.

  • Some people just looooove to head canon.

  • Some people just settle with less.

  • Some people like to think they are hip and cool by treating the ending as if it was something on display on Musée du Louvre.

  • Some people suffer from head trauma.

  • And I've also heard that there actually are 4 or 5 people that genuinely liked the ending. (Though I think that point goes under the head trauma point...)

There are lots of reasons I can think of why someone would defend the ending. In the end it's just a matter of opinion.
It's the wrong opinion of course. But there isn't much I can do about that Posted Image

I hate the endings and that, but making a thread like this is tantamount to asking 'So why do people have opinions then?'

The ending was so ambiguous and full of holes, any logical person would question it. To not question it and take it as literal as possible is to be blind in faith.

Is religion bashing the thing to do this week? This is like the third thread where I've seen it happen.

as people have had to explain the ending with large amounts of text , then the ending has failed

but I'd like to know why we seem to be seeing lots of people liking the ending around the time were suposed to be expecting the EC

i'm not implying anything I just would like to honestly hear why some people denfend it.

I defend the ending because i like it and it does make sense to me.
I know there are some plot holes in the ending and i am willing to give Bioware a chance to fix them and also clarify the ending in the EC.

The ending does make sense but it depends how you look at the ending.

Is my answer to your satisfaction?

Convince? No....its quite obvious
how bad it is.....I think the OP is indirectly asking why try to
convince others that its good....or why do people even need
convincing......I'm assuming anybody who has played the game, has
eyes.....its pretty clear how anti-climactic, and abrupt it is.....

My simple response to the OP's question: Denial

I'd say those who defend the endings have as much right to do so as those who constantly repeat how bad it is. But your answer pretty much shows that you dont't accept any other opinion than: "It just sucks so much"
Maybe some think ME3 isn't as bad as others say.
I don't feel the need to defend anything, but I must admit that I'm getting tired of the "Give us what we want" - attitude.

Its sad that people use Mass effect 3's ending to insult Christinans.

I think if they edited out the star kid & just cut to the destroy footage it would work

then even a still picture of a war memorial with the surviving crew paying tribute to the fallen

no long star magic explanation required

Religion bashing is always in style.

Anyone who believes there is a magical man in the sky that watches everything you do, may as well call him Santa Claus.

Since this has turned into a pro-end bashing thread, I might as well answer the obligatory "Art" and "Space Magic."

They probably defend it because they liked it and/or didn't hate it.

Shocking, I know.

This right here might be a reason. If you like the ending your constantly being insulted by people like the one I quoted.
One possibility is to ignore them, another is to, you know.. defend your opinion :D

I've never demanded a single thing that I "wanted".....

So maybe not the time to assume.....I've assumed nothing about you....don't be so rude...

Yes, while Mass Effect was one of my favorite series, I take an unbiased approach to every form of media....and from a neutral standpoint, the ending as well as the concept for it, is downright ridiculous. Starchild, the plotholes.....Joker the p****......I've never seen a more anti-climactic ending to any other trilogy ever....

So, no....it isn't that ME3s ending isn't very good......its that the ending is a monumental failure of epic proportions.....I don't even know if I can even.consider it an ending, with the absence of such integral story elements.....it blatantly lacks a climax and a conclusion.....that stuff is elementary

This place is starting to reach an all time low. People are calling people who enjoyed the ending mentally retarded, pretty much. Apparently it's also okay to openly insult people's religion too.
