People who defend the endings are like people who defend the bible.

The ending was so ambiguous and full of holes, any logical person would question it. To not question it and take it as literal as possible is to be blind in faith.

Is religion bashing the thing to do this week? This is like the third thread where I've seen it happen.

Religion bashing is always in style.

Anyone who believes there is a magical man in the sky that watches everything you do, may as well call him Santa Claus.

Oh hey look it's some totally cool loose cannon motherf*cker over here I for one am totally impressed I bet you have a huge penis and women don't vomit at your presence

Lol you win Joe, that was an epic comment

This thread has called people stupid, in denial, blind, etc within a mere two pages of comments, and a cool and relevant Christianity reference thrown in there too.

I think it's safe to say that the troll has been fed.

This place is starting to reach an all time low. People are calling people who enjoyed the ending mentally retarded, pretty much. Apparently it's also okay to openly insult people's religion too.

This.  BioWare has the worst fans.

No, they do not.

Fans getting uppity at a sub-par edition of a well-loved fictional universe is not unique.

Saying that makes your banner highly ironic.

Come on now. Some friendly pro-ender teasing can be fun and all. But lets leave the religion debate out of this forum.

I could have easily thrown in Islam and scientology in there too.

Nah, it's just a few bad apples. People around here are decent and intellegent, for the most part.

I defend the ending because i like it and it does make sense to me.
I know there are some plot holes in the ending and i am willing to give Bioware a chance to fix them and also clarify the ending in the EC.

The ending does make sense but it depends how you look at the ending.

Is my answer to your satisfaction?

Cause its really that bad.

No it isn't. It's just not very good.

Mcfly616 wrote...

Convince? No....its quite obvious
how bad it is.....I think the OP is indirectly asking why try to
convince others that its good....or why do people even need
convincing......I'm assuming anybody who has played the game, has
eyes.....its pretty clear how anti-climactic, and abrupt it is.....

My simple response to the OP's question: Denial

I'd say those who defend the endings have as much right to do so as those who constantly repeat how bad it is. But your answer pretty much shows that you dont't accept any other opinion than: "It just sucks so much"
Maybe some think ME3 isn't as bad as others say.
I don't feel the need to defend anything, but I must admit that I'm getting tired of the "Give us what we want" - attitude.

I've never demanded a single thing that I "wanted".....

So maybe not the time to assume.....I've assumed nothing about you....don't be so rude...

Yes, while Mass Effect was one of my favorite series, I take an unbiased approach to every form of media....and from a neutral standpoint, the ending as well as the concept for it, is downright ridiculous. Starchild, the plotholes.....Joker the p****......I've never seen a more anti-climactic ending to any other trilogy ever....

So, no....it isn't that ME3s ending isn't very good......its that the is a monumental failure of epic proportions

I'm sorry if I offended you. That wasn't my intention.
The thing is: Some people are fine with the ending (shocking, right^^). But every time they voice their opinion, they are called ****s or fanboys or basically just stupid. I think defending your postion is an understandable reaction.

Indeed. I think people that is using that banner is either new to the internet or has only ever visisted one game forum. This forum.

Yes, they do.  It started with one of their employees getting death threats and being called things like "a Jew c*nt" because she dared discuss new ways to approach combat in BioWare RPGs, and to be honest it hasn't improved a great deal from there.

The sneering superiority and anti-intellectualism of the majority of BW forum goers truly disgusts me, which is why I've hardly posted here in months.  Almost every thread ends up with dissenters being shouted down, accused of mental illness, or just spammed with troll posts.  To put it simply: we are an unpleasant bunch.  BioWare has the worst fans.

Everybody knows Blizzard has the worst fans, but for completely different reasons.

I double dog dare you to try and ask Blizzard for more content in front of Blizzard fans.  We all know that that request will end with a stampede of fanaticism.

By a few people, which is unfortunate.

But 'pro-enders' are hardly the persecuted minority some people who might fall under that woefully generalistic label like to portray themselves as.

We don't need more people playing the victim.

To OP:  I don't think that many people do defend it.  I only see posts like this^^^( no offense intended) They say they like it but then point out plot holes and such.  I mean its like saying I like this food but it tastes bad.

I'm not against religion.....I graduated from a Catholic high school, my entire family was raised that way....

However, I'm an adult and can logically think.for myself. I've never taken the bible literally. Hell, even my theology teacher told me that the Old Testament was just a camp fire story....

But on the other hand, I'm watching "Through The Wormhole" with Morgan Freeman, and my girlfriends sister is over eating.dinner, and this broad just stops eating, and starts preaching to.me how "the Bible says we are Gods children, we're the only life I'm the galaxy. It says it in the bible"

This chick.was for Serious too....I just laughed in her face.....

I think Leafs was referring to people like my girlfriends sister......not religion in general....chill out folks....

I liked it because the troupe of the hero using powers associated with evil or darkness and than using them for the forces of good is an underused troupe and one of my personal favorites.

However, for those who defend it. Well, why do people who hate the ending go out of their way to denounce it in the pro-ending threads?

The answer is simple, people do not enjoy being told their opinions are wrong, especially when most of the reasons given are things that are also based on opinion and preference of the other person. And when given the chance to, they will state and defend their stance from what feels like attacks to their own personal feelings.

Both sides do it, one side has a lot more people do it a lot more often so they end up kinda fading into the background as opposed to the minority of fans who don't hate it or like it, when they do it it's like seeing a single black spec in a sea of white sand.

That situation was completely abhorrent. The thing is though, it's not the whole of the BSN that's like this. Read the good posts, ignore the trolls and unpleasant individuals. This is the internet, unfortunately you learn to deal with this.

Again, HoN and Dota have way worse communities. WAY worse.
