Which part has the best soundtrack in your opinion: ME1, ME2 or ME3?

I prepared a poll and would be glad if you voted.

social.bioware.com/3747529/polls/35453/

I personally favor ME1: Vigil, spectre induction, Vigil, the soundtrack on Virmire, Vigil, the victory music, did I mention Vigil's theme?
The soundtrack in the other two games is good, too, but the one of ME1 is unsurpassed for me. Probably because they remind me of my first playathrough of ME1 which got me in touch with this universe.

I'd favor ME2's score if the DLC soundtracks count, but all three games had outstanding soundtracks.

A few examples according to my opinion:

ME1: Spectre Induction; Vigil; Saren's Theme; M4 Part 2 from The Faunts

ME2: Suicide Mission (of course); Shadow Broker final fight theme; Overlord combat theme; Normandy Reborn

ME3: Leaving Earth; Mars; The Fleets Arrive; An End, Once and for All; The Catalyst; Operation Hammer theme

All are great to listen to before my university final exams, and they do help a lot. :)

"Mars" and "I was lost without you" are probably the best in the trilogy, along with "Suicide Mission", Thane's presentation song and a bunch others, really... most ME games soundtracks are great ( except, in my opinion, 50% of ME1's, it really lacks the diversity ME2's and ME3's punches).

ME1: The Normandy, Spectre Induction, Breeding Ground, Exit, Uncharted Worlds, Form the Wreckage, The End (Reprise), Awesome Credits Song.

ME2

ME3
. Creation, Leaving Earth, Mars, The Ardat Yakshi, I'm Sorry, Aralakh Company,  I'm Proud Of You, An End Once and For All

ME1 imho has th best fitting. Nevermind it was the first and thus THE game of the series and hence gets the nostalgia bonus points, but the music just fitted to the game like a second skin and really captured the futuristic atmosphere.

Definitely ME1, but ME3 isn't far behind. My favorites from ME1 are 'Breeding Ground,' 'The Citadel,' 'In Pursuit of Saren,' 'From the Wreckage' and 'Vigil.' ME3 I particularly liked 'Creation Theme,' 'Betrayal,'  'I Was Lost Without You,' 'The Fleets Arrive,' 'I'm Proud of You' and 'An End Once and For All.'

Also, although it wasn't on the full soundtrack, this is most likely my absolute favorite piece in ME3.

ME1 is by far the strongest.

ME2 is good but not on the same level as ME1.

ME3's is...fairly weak, to be honest.

Pretty standard orchestral sort of stuff. "An End Once and for All" seems to me the best of that lot.

Because it wasn't listed above:

Vigil

ME2 hands down was the most complete soundtrack of the trilogy.

ME3 is my favorite one to be honest. I like the theme that clint mansell set for the series. Instead of something which was expected which was "attacking strings and heavy ensembles" he came with light high pitches pianos. Although some scenes did need them overall i like what the team did on the other side. I'm in love with an End once for All and I was lost without you.

The music for all three was just about perfect, but I'd say I liked the ME1 and 2 scores slightly better.

I knew the first time that I opened the Galaxy Map and heard that ambient, Blade Runner-esque, super sci-fi music that I was in good hands.

ME1. I like playing the Noveria music in the car while driving to work in the winter. It helped me get ready for the day ahead.

Easily ME3 to me. But all three soundtracks were great though.

They're all unbelievably good. An End One and For All is such a hauntingly beautiful piece that I still have to give it the occasional listen.

ME1 holds a special place in my heart though, everything had that epic space op vibe due to Mass Effect's generally unfamiliar territory and lighter beginnings. That's not to say the others aren't equally superb, each soundtrack identifies with a general precedent set by the game.

1: epic, undiscovered space op
2: action-heavy, dramatic sequences
3: dark, with dissonant military tones.

Nicely put, and I agree.  Each one has it's own distinctiveness that fits with the theme of each game, so it's really hard to raise one over the other due to the widely different context for each game.

ME1 to me was exploring a new universe with the haunting theme of Saren and Sovereign hammering home just how dangerous the galaxy really was.

ME2 was more action oriented.  The intro music at the main menu sums up the game nicely.

I found the music in ME3 the most touching, and most haunting of the three though.  Before even finishing the prologue, I was tearing up as  started to play.

Two more that I like.

How is this in any way standard orchestral theme or weak?
