PLAY from the start! ME3 is still a great game, whatever the EC will be, it would at least be better than what we originally got.

I'll wait and see what the general consensus is, maybe even check it out on youtube. If it's worth it, I'll download it. If not, I won't bother. I still haven't downloaded any of the MP DLC's, and never will. I figure downloading them is basically giving your tacit approval, and I don't approve of MP. If this one isn't satisfying, I'm not going to support it either, free or not.

to you too I ask....what if the etc smacks you in the face with a literal interpretation of the endings?

If it is a literal attempt to "Clarify" what's already been said in the original ending, then I get to save money on future ME3 DLC and future Bioware games.

I'll play and avoid spoilers. But I haven't a lot of expectation for the EC. I believe it won't resolve the main problem of the ME3 ending: the sudden appereance of Casper as deus ex machina, the thematically/ethically wrong nature of the RGB choices (destroy is just the less wrong in my view) and the strong dose of Space Magic.

But my main problem with the EC is that I'm pretty sure that it's just a planned DLC who has become free because of fan's backlash. If players were as idiots as the reviewers wished us to be and no one would have questioned the endings so vocally to hurt the sales and the brand, they would have released the EC as payable DLC.

Why I hold such position? Because to plan such things you need not only months or weeks but years. It's impossible that they have done everything in the last few months. Because EA Edmonton... I mean Bioware has became arrogant in the last years and they would never accept to be called wrong by the audience in good faith. And because that's the way EA wants to do busines with his customers.

And that leaves a sour taste in my mouth no matter what.

I'll play. I have low expectations so if it doesn't satisfy then it wont be anything different from the half dozen playthroughs I've gone through already.

What's the over/under on download crashes due to server overload day 1 of release?

I will probably first wait for the community to say it makes the ending significantly better before I touch that part of the singleplayer again.

read about what in actually contains/which direction it went and based on this I might...

watch it first if what I just read doesn't sound too good (like no real happy ending, no IT, more synthesis...)

or, if it is really great and happy and awesome I will play it by starting a whole new Shepard and go all the way from ME1 to ME3 on a celebration-cruise, buying myself all the missing DLC on the way...
