It won't be substantial enough to worry about spoilers. I'll read the opinions on here and then decide whether or not I should even bother downloading.

I'm watching, I refuse to put anything mass effect related back on my computer since the EC is only extra video clips explaining the crap we were served rather than giving us a non crap ending.

Its free, and I've already dedicated enough time and energy to Mass Effect that I'll download it and give it a shot. I'll decide whether it was worth it based on its merits or flaws.

I'll wait and see who plays it from the forums. If you guys like it, then yeah, I will download it.
I would say something like: "You can't break a game that's already broken", but I have a feeling BioWare could possibly do it. :s

I would hope you would rely on more than just the bsn for feedback on it.

Uh, why? I know I can get unvarnished and un-bought opinions here, and my biggest questions, such as whether Bioware tossed the Starkid or not, will be posted here in 4-foot high letters. This is the PERFECT place for feedback and reviews! Would you rather I get my info from IGN? Or perhaps I could wait for Forbe's opinion; but they don't game, so they would just be looking at the financial side of things. I've been here for three months now, and I've got a general idea of which people's general opinions I tend to share. If THOSE people are happy, odds are good that I can take a chance and download the EC. But if people like AtlasMickey, memorysquid, or...what's his name, the guy whose name reads like Cameltoe, like it, I'm almost certainly NOT going to like it and am best off staying far, far away.

EDIT: Actually, were you planning on playing the EC and reviewing it here on BSN, KotorEffect3? You're also on my list of people to watch for; would love to hear what you have to think.

^That's why.
I'm tired of "un-biased" game sites not telling me how the game really is. All of those review sites and magazines said that ME3 was a perfect game and called us a lot of cruel, childish and demeaning names for not following along blindly. So, no, I don't trust them and their bought reviews anymore.
At least here, I know I am getting an honest opinion. Does any member on this forum have anything to loose by telling the truth? No. I trust this fan base and their opinions.

I am generally biased in a positive way so I am not free of biasness myself.  I do plan on playing it without knowing any spoilers beforehand.  I will try to say what I liked about it and what I think it may be lacking at the time it comes.  But I won't lie I am biased so keep that in mind when I say what I thought of it.

play for sure. I'd rather experience disappointment first hand or be pleasantly surprised all while playing my file rather than hear about it

Gee, I wonder if I'm the only one aware of the irony of the same people simultaneously begging BioWare for a release date and whining "lolz I'm 2 good 4 mass effect ROFLROFLROFL wut a waste of time."

All posted on the Mass Effect forum, of course.

I haven't decided yet if I will play or just watch on youtube. Right now I am leaning towards play, but I am worried about getting emotionally invested again after the first play through was so damn disappointing. I will say this: if the DLC doesn't fix the numerous things wrong with the ending (I know that expecting it to will be a stretch) then I will be asking for my money back on the game. I realize that this will likely not happen but I will ardently try anyway.

It's free. If you're really too posh to take the time to download it then why do you even care?

"I'm not going to taint my hardrive with this free piece of DLC! I'm gonna watch it on the internet! Take that Bioware! You're losing money!

... Wait..."

I might watch, as Dawnguard is coming out soon and I'm lacking funds.

Probably will ditch ME2 and 3 and possibly DS2 to get it.

I'll play it before I go to see what the internet thinks. I want to enter it with a clear mind, not muddled with praise nor anguish... I will then be displaying my praise/anguish here, and I will strike a harmonius note of comraderie with the rest of us as we sing our opinions.

They will most likely be negative opinions.

That's perfectly fine! There is no such thing as an unbiased person. Anyone saying otherwise is trying to sell you something. ;) That said, while I don't happen to agree with many of your stated opinions, I DO believe that you are honest and say what you think. So, regardless of whether we agree or not, I trust you as a reviewer...does that make any sense? It made a lot more when it was still in my head...

(Also, I'm 100% sure that my biggest red flags, such as whether Starkid is still present or the ending was literal, will be trumpeted/shrieked from the rooftops, so I may not even NEED a reviewer list. We shall see...) *crosses fingers and hopes for IT*

I will be playing. Whether or not the ME series remains on my hard drive will be determined by the EC.

well.. it's free dlc... i see no reason to watch it on youtube when i can download the dlc, load up one of my save files and just experience the new story material with my own shepard ... the whole thing likely won't take more than 10 minutes or so anyway, so it's worth seeing it through with my own shepard rather than someone else's.

I plan on coming to the forums to see how ticked off everybody is when they find out that the new content is nothing more than a couple cinematics and some static text screens.

No intention of downloading OR watching on Youtube.

I'll play it if it comes out this weekend, maybe.  Moving next week and I'll probably head out to the cottage while I wait to move into a new place.  My girlfriend will probably come down and I don't play video games around her.  To be honest, I don't really think Bioware can repair what they've done short of retconning the whole game, anyways.

I mean ME3 was so screwed up that I am never going to play multiplayer and the last mission again, watch a few new cinematics and then sit back with a satisfied look on my face and say, "There.  That's better."

I am curious to see what they do, although my money is on:

1.  a few cut scenes mid-mission depicting the fate of Jack and Grunt and Zaeed and your non-squad member buds on the ground (like in ME2, which was probably the very least of what returning fans expected going in)

2.  some kind of context for whatever is happening to the Normandy at the end there

3.  scenes belabouring the elements of the ending no one liked as if people that didn't like the ending are too dumb to understand the ending and once they have had it explained to them with digital sock puppets they will catch on

So, it won't be worth the wait or the time to play through it again.  I think my EC predictions are pretty consistent with the contempt dripping from Bioware's response to the fan outrage.

I replayed ME1 and just finished ME2 and will probably finish ME3 right before the EC finally comes out. I personally want to watch it on my own and form my own opinions. I also have a second save that I will probably play/watch right after to see how things play out differently. If they don't then I will be quite upset, head to the forums and vent with others like I did the last time.

Well I will tell you what I want out of the EC.  While I think the IT is interesting and kind of cool to think about I don't buy into it either.  I think the endings are literal,  I could be wrong but I doubt it.  With that said what I am hoping for out of the EC is three major things, a more prominant role for Harbinger (he was the main antagonist of ME 2 and he is the largest and oldest Reaper he deserves to have larger impact on the story), war assets actualy shown in action (we spent three games gathering them might as well show them), and last but most importantly an epilogue that answers all of our questions and gives us a proper sense of closure.  I would also like the epilogue to include how, when , and if the galaxy overcomes losing the Mass Relays.

Also while not completely necessary I would like to know more about the reapers origins, when and how the citadel was created, what species the keepers were repurposed from etc....

I'll watch it first and then decide if it's worth it to play the whole ME3 game again, since I've lost my save file a while ago.
