Okay, so another savegame issue thread.

I'm soon to be upgrading my hard drive in my PS3 to a nice 120GB, from the current 40GB.

I've now made about 3 characters, all roughly 16/17 in level, and I've invested about 40 hours into each of them. Honestly, do you think I want to have to redo all that?

Consider the trophies, 'Reach level 20 as rogue / warrior / mage' - 3 Silver trophies, required for the platinum.. Do I really want to have to spend ANOTHER 120 odd hours getting those, once I upgrade?

- Please don't suggest that I just change my harddrive whenever I want to play it, because it's a ridiculous alternative when the savegame could just be copied to a USB.

Now, I don't know why it is, I've heard rumours of it's because of the DLC or whatever.. Can't you just link the Savegame to the PSN account that the DLC was redeemed on? Surely it's not that hard, and it would fix so many issues here.

I know others are having the same problem, it's all over the place (not on these forums).. I mean, with such a huge open RPG, why has this been ignored??

Anyways, just sign the thread if you agree with me and would like to see this implemented.

THIS THREAD IS NOT FOR DISCUSSION, PLEASE PM ME WITH WHAT YOU WANT TO SAY, AND IF IT'S A VALID POINT I'LL ADD IT TO THE MAIN POST - IT WILL BE STUPIDLY HARD TO COUNT THE SIGNATURES IF THERE'S A HUGE CONVERSATION GOING ON.

Thankyou,

Yes, you can now. With the 3.15FW, you can hook the two PS3's together, and it will *migrate* copy protected saves/game data/dlc etc to the new unit, but any saves 'copy protected' will delete the source save once the copy is complete, thus only 1 copy of the save at a time.

I haven't used it, so I'm not sure how granular the settings are, I think it's more of a migration tool than anything, for moving your stuff to a new PS3, but it's the only way to move a copy protected save to a new PS3 at the moment.

Yeah, the recent update doesn't transfer locked saves afaik, that simply because Sony cant. Game saves are locked at the request of the publisher or by conscious choice on the part of the developer. If it's an issue with the developer, then I'd fully expect BioWare to resolve the issue or give some insight, they tend to care about their customer. If it's a restriction brought up by the douche canoes that are EA then I wouldn't expect them to give a rats arse.

The silence on BioWares half would indicate EA had the final say, and that there is little they can do.

Signed in hope, none the less.

if there are ways saved games can be transferred on pc than why shouldn't the consoles have a method themselves. My idea is that they add an option on the playstation menu to "Transfer Saved Games to USB" (since PS3 doesn't include a dvd burner if I recall) and then another option saying "Upload saves from USB" where the saves will return back to the PS3.

That just sounds too complicated for me lol. (I'm a hardware noob)

As for the petition, S to I to G to N to E to D
