A letter I sent to Bioware:
I am *extremely disappointed with an issue I experienced with your game
- and, from reading through forums, I can see I'm not the only one.
Like many, I went to a relative's for Christmas. I received Dragon Age
as a gift and spent a lot of time creating a character and getting into
the game. When I went to back up my save to a USB stick and bring it
home to my own PS3 to continue, I was informed that save file was
locked! Apparently having something to do with trophies?? I fully
understand a company's right to protect their own intellectual property
by protecting a game from being copied etc., however this is going *way
too far. It is MY saved data and MY time you have stolen. If I want to
start it at someone's house and continue it at my own, it is MY
business. If I want to play the game at a friend's house and show them
the game, it is MY business. As long as I have a legitimately-purchased
copy of the game - why on *earth are you infringing on my rights to
play it where I choose? I strongly urge to release a patch of some sort
to fix this issue *immediately* as other game companies have done and,
in the future, keep your hands off of users' data and how they choose
to use it. This issue mars an otherwise fantastic game and I truly hope
you fix it.
To which I received a useless reply and a suggestion to post on the forums ...
[Petition]Savegames - Make them copyable!

Signed. I lost a couple of games save data when my first PS3 broke down. I am really worried about losing my Dragon Age save data and would love the option to back it up on my usb flash drive.

Yesterday I upgraded my PS3 from 80 gb to 320 gb.
I did a normal PS3 backup from the system which copied everything to an USB disk (30gb).
I still got all my save games, and they work perfectly. So upgrading your PS3 is safe aslong as its the same system. Weee ^^

I would have to agree and sign this petition myself.
If only for the comfort of knowing that if my ps3 dies I will be able to use my backed up data once it is repaired/replaced.

How can you "copy protect" a save for a single player game. That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

Hello Everyone
I hope yall can help me. I finish my first play through of DAO and I went to start a new game for a different character and it erased all my save files after that. I was mad as hell but I said fine I'll just do it again and so I made a new character and played up to the dalish elves area and I decided to start a nother character to and yet again It erased the previous character does anyone know what is going on. I do happen to have it for the PS3

Unfortunately, I'm not as lucky as you. My saves won't transfer to a new hard drive on the same system. I have a 500GB I just bought that will be sitting unused until I beat this game.... and Assassin's Creed 2, which also blocks copies.
