So this has been bugging me for awhile now, and I'm sure many others, but Bioware please, please, please don't make the mage armors focus mostly on skirts/dresses in DA3.

Yes I am aware that mods and DLC fixes this but I had to say (type?) it. You have proven that mages can indeed wear pants with Bethany being an excellent example. Yes the Circle mages wearing robes makes sense because I'm sure it's much harder to run away when you're clad in something akin to a ball-gown but my  apostate Hawke strutting around Hightown in this seasons fancy-dinner-wear-what-have-you really breaks something for me.

There's a lot of topics calling for big things in DA3 but lets not forget the little things shall we? So what (and chances are this topic has been posted many times before) do you guys want to see that's small but can make your immersion a lot easier?

In terms of aesthetics, more realistic weapons - gigantic swords being swung around like they're made of wood is really jarring.

There are some Mage outfits that aren't gowns. Most of them seem to be in the DLC's though.

I agree, the weapons are too big, and they move completely disprortionately fast - it's especially noticeable with two handers, that are gigantic, and and are used in combat as if they weighed no more than a dagger.

DA:O's two handed weapons were used with a more realistic speed, though I can understand if they speeded it just a little from that for gameplay purposes. DA2 went too far in the other direction though.

Origins also had the mage "dresses", which is why I was fond of the arcane warrior spec.

Aside from the dlc mage armor, the champion set looked nice on my DA2 mages. Too bad there aren't many other options pre-act 3 to show that my mage has legs.

Also, in DA3, please increase the range of trap detection for rogues. I understand having to tell the rogue to go disarm a trap or pick a lock, but I don't want to feel like I need to control them during combat, because many traps happen to show up when I'm busy fighting. Most of my DA2 playthroughs have been as rogues because I don't want to worry about trap detection when I'm not in control of Varric. If detecting traps in DA3 is anything as effective as it was in Origins, then I'd be satisfied.

DAO two-handers had nothing approaching realistic speed, and the hammers were stupidly oversized.  Not to mention half the moves looked like you were Tiger Woods driving a par 5 or Macguire swinging for the bleachers.

It is a total misconception that bigger weapons are slower than smaller ones.  Granted, if you're swinging around something ridiculously heavy, like, say, a 20 lb. rock, it's going to be slower, but there's a reason why actual hand weapons don't use that model.

Portraying realistic melee combat in a computer game (unless you want to devote 100% of your budget to it and maybe the budgets of a couple of other games to boot) is not going to happen.  Mostly, you just want it to look good.  However, that's highly subjective.  I personally prefer faster action and, for the most part, weapon sizes don't bother me.  Even the "FORE!" animations in DAO were more amusing to me than off-putting.  (The pew-pew mage staffs grate, though.)  I definitely don't like the two-handed weapon animations in Dungeons and Dragons Online if you want to establish a baseline.  That little jump they do in the middle makes me squirm.  So even for me there are limits.
