Remember they're Talking about Summer and they're a Canadian Company...so yeah within the time between June-September

Probably sometime in July. Canada Day is July 1st. Although, highly unlikely to be the release date.

I really like the 'when it's done' approach. (Honestly, not being sarcastic)

You should've used that with ME3 to begin with, so we wouldn't have this mess.

Why would it?
Canada Day has nothing to do with summer,
It's just the Canadian version of the 4th of July.
the first day of Summer in Canada is June 21st
same as most places.

Please don't hate me for this, guys, but I honestly don't care when it's finished. I can hold it in me, time passes, I got things to do. From my point of view, BioWare can take their sweet time. For a good ending that gives us (how they call it? oh yeah) "closure", it can take as long as a year or more if it's necessary, but by God it better be good. Cause, you know, between "let's wait for everyone to finish the game" and Mass Effect community clash, all this (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ will be multiplied by... lets' see... sin(2/m^2-...... a lot.

End of zip line.

Summer will mean different things to different people. Some people think of it as June, July & August (traditionally teh warmest months). Some people use the astronomical calendar which means summer is between June 20 and September 21 this year.

For Australians, summer runs November, December and January.

For the Extended Cut, Summer will refer to when it is done and ready to be released. Could be this month, could be next month, or August or September.

Chris just killing time at the office to say "I have no bloody idea" stop speculating.

Don't underestimate how long game development and content creation takes.

Quality is much more important than timeliness. They need to get this right, there's only one chance. And besides, do you really expect the full weight of BW to be behind a free DLC? I bet half of them have moved on to next project. And still more took much deserved time off after release.

Doesn't the certification process take 3 months? Didn't they only start working on the EC in April or May? Honestly, if it was anywhere close to release at this point I'd be worried.

We don't want a rushed DLC. Please, Bioware, take your time, we can wait.

If you remember, they actually pushed back the release date from November 2011 to March 6, 2012. You saw how well that worked out.

Summer is a 3 month period, and is different in many different parts of the world. How about chilling for a bit? It'll be ready when its ready.

Ready when it's ready.

If bribed with sufficiently large amounts of cake, I might even be gracious enough to allow Bioware to release it on the first day of Autumn. Yes yes, I know, gasps of shock all round, but I'm in a generous mood.

Its only summer. They should take all the time they need to make it right. Any earlier than Christmas and you know it won't be a decent ending. Don't rush this.

ME3 has already dropped out of the top 10 in game sales. Amazon-proper is selling the XBOX 360 version, new, for $29.99. If BioWare blows the EC, ME3 sales won't just tank--they'll go subterranean. They absolutely have to get this right--well, as right as is possible. BioWare will take as long as it takes to release the EC.

I don't think ME3 sales are much of a factor at this point. I think it was always about the marketability of the franchise and the Bioware brand name.

Kalms, as I said, Summer covers June 20-Sept 21 and it will be ready when it is ready, next week, next month or whatever. We'll announce it before it is released (no matter what people think) , but only when the team is ready to do so.

Looking forward to it!

I hope they wait until next March before they put out any dlc that would cover an ending. That should be plenty of time to make something decent. Anything this year would be bad. Take your time.

An entire year? That's half the time they spent making all of ME3.
