Hi! I've just recently returned to playing DA2. I'd like to know if anybody's got a link to the changes the latest patch implemented gameplay wise and if anybody's got a list of the items obtainable from that DLC. I've tried to run a search but I couldn't find one. Also, when do you guys think it's best to play MOTA? I've heard it has game-breaking bugs. Is there a way around those bugs? Any advice is appreciated. ^_^

Patch info can be found here, while MotA item info can be found here (spoiler warning).

To me, MotA makes most sense in Act 3.

Thanks! I just recently finished act 1 again (but I do have a save before I entered the deep roads). I've been hearing the playing MOTA can corrupt your saves after starting it. Is it safe to play it in act 1, act 2 or perhaps when all your party members have returned in act 3? Initially I was planning it before playing the final sequence of events in the game so in case it corrupts the files it would be ok.

If you're referring to the issue that the PS3 users were having, I think that was fixed with the latest patch.

DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT - "MARK OF THE ASSASSIN"

* We have fixed a save-game corruption issue that was occurring for a small number of users in the autosave immediately following the dungeon capture scene.

If you are super concerned, just do a hard save before you start the DLC. If your save gets corrupted, you should be able to go back to that point.

Also, have a look through here for all the various items available in the MotA DLC.

Edit...
Woops, someone already linked the MotA wiki category XD.

Yeah because I'm a PS3 user. So just make a save, back it up on a flash drive or something, then start the DLC?

Follow up question: who are the best party members to take into MOTA for maximum loot/rewards/xp? I'm asusming Tallis is locked in so I can only bring 2? I'm guesing Aveline and Isabela?

Tallis is locked in, yes. If you play in act 3, your LI gets additional dialogue. While most party members get a minor side quest, Aveline and Isabela get an extra quest.

It wasn't. It still happens.

Ayt. So it's best if I end up with Isabela then for more dialogue and the extra quest/items.

Ethereal, what would be the work around if I wanted to do MOTA at the beginning of ACT 3?

no clue. I had started a new game after the patch came out and went all the way to Act 3 and started MotA prior to The Last Straw.

Sometime during the DLC, I had to reload to an earlier point -- a hard save. It was corrupted.

So having started the DLC over again and playing it through, I just said "Screw it" and finished the game.

When I tried to load the post-game save, sure enough that one was corrupted as well.

As far as I know, there is no workaround.

Side note: you can't change Tallis' weapons. You're stuck with the throwing daggers she comes with.

I see that sucks. Shouldn't have purchased this. Oh well. I guess the best time to play it is post-game or just before the final sequence of events. I guess I'll also back up all of my saves in a USB to be safe before I start that DLC. They should've fixed this. What a waste of money. T_T
