To me, I could care less what happens to Hawke.  But I do sympathize with those who enjoyed the human who fled Lothering and then in turn fled Kirkwall, for I felt that my Warden didn't recieve a proper conclusion and was more or less just set aside while my other companions from Origins continued on in the world of Thedas.

Since an expansion is out of the question, how would you like to see Hawke's story concluded?  In Sonnet?  (I am curious to how you feel and not being a smart alec) Posted Image

Spoilers inbound:

Someone as important as Hawke or the Warden (if alive), deserves nothing less than either a role as an important NPC or optional playable PC in the future. That's the only way characters with much developed stories like those can be concluded.

Maybe we see Varric in a tavern, and we get an option to talk about the legend of Hawke?
Then Varric tells you an unbelievable end and you can push the topic a bit more, and then Varric tells the story of the last adventure he had with Hawke. After that, he can say he doesn't know what happened to him/her, but he believes that Hawke is still alive. Or dead. Depending on what the writers decide.

The only reason I'd want to know about Hawke is out of a desire for completion. I never felt invested in the character at all. What happens to him/her should be mentioned in game, but I'm more interested in the Warden, who did far more interesting things.

I'd like to see Hawke or the Warden/Orlesian Warden Commander be a DLC-only "just for this mission" type of companion for DAIII, kind of like Tallis was in "Mark of the Assassin." That way we still have some kind of conclusion for their character if we want it (I know lots of players don't care if they never see those two again) and hopefully since it'd be an additional DLC it'd have enough zots to accomidate a really good import system. =)

My idea on how to give closure to Hawke.......

mHawke or femHawke is featured in the first 15 minutes of the game. They save your character or something.

The last thing you see Hawke leaving alone or meeting up with their love interest and they disappear down a road.

I keep telling you people. Hawke and the warden were captured by an elite group of Orlesians commanded by the empress. They are chained up in a secret dungeon and she is draining their life force in order to become immortal.

It is getting a bit annoying that both the Warden and Hawke disappear into the great unknown no matter what, I'm already starting to be not that bothered about DA3's protagonist incase he too wonders off into the great unknown and the game hasn't even been announced yet.

Heck even one of Varrics stories would do:
Varric: "...and then Isabela got bored, slit Hawke's thoat from ear to ear and ran off to trail around after Alister to help him with his daddy issues."

Hawke was recruited by the Warden to go after Flemeth and they were both killed by the witch.

Unless Bioware are willing to make them playable somehow, just stick a few rumours about them living happily with LI and leave them alone.

This is actually pretty much the setup I've been thinking of.  At some point in DA3, the new PC can encounter Varric, who offers to tell the story of what happened to Hawke, if the player wants to hear it.  But instead of simply having Varric talk, they could do a neat callback to the framed narrative by allowing us to play as Hawke during the story.  It could be about the length of moderate-to-decently-sized quest, and take things into account such as whether you sided with the mages or Templars and who your companions were.  Potentially the player could have the chance to decide what happens with Hawke at the end.

I like this idea because it allows for Varric to make an appearance by acting in his ideal role as storyteller, and allows for logical cameos from the other DA2 companions.  Rather than a convenient "Oh, Fenris, Isabela, and Aveline all wound up in Orlais for some reason," they would be (potentially) included in the flashback story.  This would also allow for the player's DA2 choices to be recognized and given a bit of followup and closure, while not taking focus away from the main story of DA3 for too long.  And if someone really doesn't care what happened to Hawke, they can just tell Varric they don't want to hear the story right now.  ;)

All of the Hawke fans deserve something and all of the Warden fans deserves something. No matter what they need some closure as PCs

I think there should be a decision in DA3 where you go on an important mission given by Morrigan (but you don't know it's her) and she tells you to go rescue someone very important (the Warden), but what she didn't realize at the time was that Hawke got captured as well and you have to choose between the Warden or Hawke. The other dies and a little bit after the mission, the love interest of either Hawke or the Grey Warden (if they had one) shows up and gets revenge, thinking the MC could have saved both if they tried. I would save my Warden every time.

I understand Hawke left after the Kirkwall dissastor, but I'm not sure what happened to my Warden. I played the Witch Hunt dlc with two Wardens I'm interested in importing. One went with her because she was his L.I., so that makes sense. But one was just friends with her and it was like, "Gee its good to see you. I killed a lot of creatures and people to just say hi, what's up?" And then she left. A Quick cutscene to the book we were after and some package left for me. Then I find out in DA2 that I'm missing as well. What happened to me?Posted Image
