i've created a list of things i think would be awesome!  i'm a HUGE fan of mass effect.... all the way to the last 1% of ME3.... (1% being everything after the citadel beam run, that destroyed the entire series for me)

http://social.biowar...7033/1#12647033  heres the link to my list, i've done alot of comparing with Mass Effect just because it was one of the best games i've ever played!

Now, heres the question for every one, hopefully bioware reads this once / if it gets a populated response to it.

WHAT WOULD BE BAD OR GOOD FOR Dragon Age 3?

I would also like to see another Strong female lead character!  the industry wants to include more women in the industry / fanbase...  good as time as any to start :P  i believe that Lady Hawke should make a return.  But she doesn't have to :P

Well, dear, I think a lot of items in that list are just personal pleasures of yours; for example, an "epic" hero ... I much prefer a more down to earth person like Hawke. I found Shepard quite boring and cliche, but keep in mind I only played ME3.

As for the ME3 ending, I really liked it; I like that Shepard died and there was nothing I could do to save him. That ending made me cry, and I thank BW for evoking such depth of emotion from me. No video game has ever changed me the way ME3 did.

However, I am a softie and I would really like a happy ending for my DA3 protagonist ^^

Returning characters: Not as companions, I hope not. I have little interest in Morrigan and definitely don't want a character who is a mother caring for a baby. But mostly I have just always been indifferent to her.

I would like new companions, although it's okay if they are pulled from previous games as NPCs, for exampl, Lia and Alain from DA3 ... I think they would make great companions. And Maraas, of course ;)

I preferred DA2's small-scale political upheaval setting to DA:O's wide-scale cliche LOTR type setting. But both were fine. Can't compare to ME setting really b/c ME is truly a space opera.

As for a female protagonist, I am sure we will continue to have the option to select gender for the PC. Hopefully BW will continue to progress in the areas of race and sexuality, too, so that players an make Black, Asian, etc. looking characters instead of just white characters. And of course players should always have the option to pursue romances regardless of a companion's gender.

In short I think ME3, DA:O, and DA2 are all great games. But I've only played ME3 once, DA:O maybe 4-5 times, and DA2 probably 10+ times by now.

What I think would be good for DA3:
- A new range of characters
- Characters to continue being their own characters like in DA2
- Loghain to appear (my wish)
- Politics to have a larger role
- Balancing player-driven and event-driven qualities

What I think would be bad for DA3
- A lot of old characters reapearing
- Two-handed swords being oversized

Bad for the next Dragon Age:
  • Putting 3 in the title.
  • Ending the series with the next Dragon Age.
  • Depending far too much on DA:O and Dragon Age: Kirkwall decisions.

Good for the next Dragon Age:
  • Having an episode name instead of a number in the title.
  • Continuing the series in other Dragon Age games.
  • Having a parallel story along the same time as Dragon Age: Kirkwall instead of a sequel after Dragon Age: Kirkwall.
  • Exploring specific parts of Thedas life in greater detail rather than trying to encompass all of Thedas' stories into a single game.

I don't want to de-canonize Dragon Age: Kirkwall, but I don't want it to corral the writers and developers by considering the events that happened there, forcing them to write stories dependent on DA:K events. I figure that a parallel story instead of a following direct or indirect sequel to Dragon Age: Kirkwall is the best way to accomplish that. It unbinds the writers' hands.
