I think people have the image of bane as damn sidekick in Batman and Robin film, which is tottly inaccurate. !

UGH that version of Bane makes me sick to my stomach.  Like there isn't enough bad things from that movie they completely neuter Bane and turn him into a retarded monkey slave for Poison Ivy (this is the nice way of putting it as far as I'm concerned) Just like I refuse to call Twilight vampires I refuse to call that thing Bane.

"Freeze, the heat is on."

That movie had the most beautifully written dialogue I've ever had the honor of bearing witness to.

Cut me some slack, not many 8-9 year olds with a PlayStation wanted to spend all their time reading comic books. :I

The only comic I've ever owned was one of the Ultimate Spiderman ones, and it was a gift. Oh, and Calvin and Hobbes.

Graphic novels are waaaay better in my honest opinion. Scott Pilgrim is one of my favorite things to read. And I also like to pick up manga every once in awhile.

Anyway, my point is, I just watched the movies and stuff. I just never really liked Bane.

Well on the plus side I guess you'll be seeing the comic side of Bane anyway.

Ok I guess I don't know the difference between Comics and Graphic Novels because I though we were just using the simple form of saying Comics as both.... Now you say you read some Graphic Novels like Scott Pilgrim?  Is this a semantics issue?  Batman and Spiderman aren't Graphic Novels now?

Well, I suppose it's only really picky people like me that actually care about the difference. Graphic novels are usually smaller, with an actual cover, while comics are like magazines in the sense that they're basically all paper.

Graphic novels are also usually in mostly black and white. Usually done with a dip pen.

And then manga is just a Japanese graphic novel, and they follow the same style as anime, which I'm sure we can all agree is totally different from the artstyle in a Batman comic.

Mostly though, I just don't read comics because most of them are about superheroes, and it just never tickled my fancy to read about them. Something like Scott Pilgrim is more interesting to me.

AH I see... I thought they were all Graphic Novels and Comics were mostly strips like Calvin and Hobbes or Garfield.

I don't really have any proof to back that up. It's just the way I always looked at it. I could very well be wrong though.

Anyway, I'll be leaving this thread now. Need sleep.

It's now exactly one month until TDKR's release. Can't wait.

Aside from what has already been mentioned, what excites me about these trailers is that we're given a little insight into the volatile, playful chemistry that characterises the Batman/Catwoman relationship. If there's more of that in the movie, I'll be extremely pleased indeed.

I'm one of those folks that is prepared to give Anne Hathaway a chance, by the way. I think she's going to be a great Selina.

New 14 minute featurette for The Dark Knight Rises.

My hype is getting pretty up there. Everything looks and sounds great. And its awesome how Nolan just seems to understand these characters so well. I love Batman Begins probably a little more than The Dark Knight, but I really think this is going to be better than both of them. Especially since I believe it when Nolan says he'll provide closure and bring things full circle.

And samples from the TDKR soundtrack have been released. Here they are all put together.
Zimmer is so incredible. "Why do we fall?" sounds incredible.

I've always asserted when it came to atmosphere and pacing, Begins was superior, but Dark Knight took other aspects to a whole new level. It had more spectacle and in-depth characterization. This third film really does look to be blending both.

And yes, Zimmer is bloody amazing. His signature theme is the best for a superhero movie ever.

So my opinion on Selina has changed a bit for the better. I also liked that the Batplane is really a hover craft and it looks like it'll handle really well on film. Still though, I can't shake the feeling like something is "off" in this film as a whole. Something about everything I've seen for this movie has bugged me in one way or another, but I'm not quite sure what it is.

Just give it a benefit of a doubt. There will be so much hype, and it will not be possible to live up to all of it.. but so far..

it looks amazing.

So who thinks that Batman is going to die in the film, considering that it is the final Batman movie from Nolan? It is a viable possibility in my opinion.

I don't think he's going to die, but I think he possibly could be maimed or somehow wounded enough that he wouldn't be able to continue being Batman.  Maybe Bane will break his back like in the comics? Maybe he'll have to break his one rule to beat Bane and he would retire after that?

It would be a huge mistake. I'm personally over the sacrificial hero bullsh*t, and in this day and age, it wouldn't go over well at all.

Empire has got the whole TDKR soundtrack up to listen to on their site.

That last track gives me goosebumps. Can't wait to hear this in IMAX.

Not at all, really. WB let 100 critic's watch TDKR and it was given a standing ovation. If Batman was to die, I am sure most critics wouldn't be jumping about.
