Does this mean that dinosaurs are from London?!    I'm not really sure how the "world's history" flows through London...

London is a super city and the most advanced on earth. Paris isn't and neither is New York.

If you're speaking in terms of policital, economical, and industrial; then both London and New York are on the same level.  Technologically, I'm pretty sure that's either Tokyo or Shanghai.

Every singe reply from you in this thread mentions new york.

Probably because it was her suggestion and this is her thread?

Now you're just being xenophobic.

You're upset that the OP suggested seeing New York, believing she thinks it's "The greatest city in the world".  Yet, the way you go on about London... It would seem you're just as guilty.

On topic, I will agree that New York is a little played out.  Tokyo would have been my first choice for new scenery.  I see no reason to get upset with the OP, however.

I would rather see Tokyo, as it was stated; along with San Fransico, as a possible Earth location along with London back before release.

Seriously, when I first saw Tokyo, I was in awe of its sheer scale and size and how it streached. We don't have any cities of such size in Australia; with luck we usually only have a hundred or so Sky Scrapers per State Capital. Tokyo would be even more amazing to see in a future setting.

Also, how about Seoul? They truely have an amazing skyline there as well.

New York? Kinda of sterotypical and old, don't you think? If it had to be in USA, I would rather see San Fransico.

...and that's where you're absolutely wrong. The most influential city in the western side of the world was and is ROME.

Rome was the head of the old roman empire, then the head of the western roman empire, then the head of the catholic church (with the Vatican within) and still is, it was the 2nd capital of "the axis" and then the head of the think tank "The Club of Rome". Every single major decision that has shaped the world as we know it, every language, most of the post-renaisance art, most of every country legal system....all of that has it's roots in Rome.  Heck, I could bet 100 bucks that the city, through history, has had more underground tunnels, hidden chambers, secret passageways and secret meetings between influential people than London, NYC and Paris combined. In fact, it's publically known and even confirmed by the Vatican itself that there are secret tunnels and chambers under the Vatican that only the highest ranking cardinals (and the pope, obviously) have access.

Besides, Rome has been burnt, destroyed and reconstructed so many times that it has earned the nickname "The Eternal City".

So, having all that into consideration, wouldn't make sense that one of the last bunkers the alliance has could be located deep (and I mean really deep) under Rome?

In fact, It would make sense if the alliance declares victory from an underground bunker there and then starts commanding from there, since all the "major" cities were attacked by the reapers (i.e. NYC, London, Washington DC, Paris, Moscow, Tokyo, etc).

Anderson is from London, so it wins by default :P

I could suggest my own country, but District 9 ruined that for me by showing it as a giant slum with alien tech that makes everyone explode.

I doubt we'll see any more Earth places in the story mode, but there's a good chance we'll see some in multiplayer.

Putting a command bunker under Rome would be an awful idea. For one thing, you've got two and a half thousand years of history sitting over you, making building ridiculously complicated. For another thing, Rome sits in what used to be a malarial swamp; the ground isn't particularly good for large underground bunkers. Plus, "number of major historical occurrences in the area" usually isn't a criterion for military organizations when figuring out where to put the Secret Underground Lair, otherwise NATO would be headquartered in Istanbul instead of Brussels, and they'd run the Alliance out of Baghdad instead of Arcturus.

Also, the weather in Rome sucks.

If you're looking for a decent spot for a underground command bunker, you could try Zhiguli, a mountain range near Kuybyshev in European Russia that, geologically, seems to be one really big hunk of rock. Speculation during the Cold War was that that was where the USSR put their version of Cheyenne Mountain. Kuybyshev was actually where the Soviet government was based out of for a large chunk of the war, after they evacuated Moscow in 1941. And it's far away from pretty much everything, not a lot of population centers near (other than, obviously, Kuybyshev itself), making it a useful hideout from enemies like the Reapers that would focus their Reaping on population loci.

---

Like many other people in this thread, I think New York is boring and played-out, especially in terms of alien invasions and whatnot. If we're going to have to show some Reaper War stuff in the US, we should show, like, New Orleans or something. You know, a cool place. I'm pretty open to anywhere that isn't horribly overdone (which at this point is pretty much "just New York and maybe LA"), though, so whatever.

Not that I'm particularly picky. I'd be happy with learning pretty much anything else about the Reaper War.

I want New York. :( They should, why do most of you hate New York, Mass Effect New York looks very interesting, it's major US and Humanity City. Why would I want to see China or someplace I seen that in Deus Ex. An North American/US location should be shown.

It's an Overused, oversaturated American City,
in all forms of media,
I'm sick of seeing it.

This!

This might be shocking news but human life do exist outside American continent!! ;D

Seriously, I think BW is going back to Vancouver (Prologue: Earth).

Rather not ... I hate that kind of cliche ... it´s a war than USA is still under attack.

You want make another Earth locations ? Than try European or Asian towns instead of some COD or CRISIS mainstream ... Let´s say Berlin, Madrid, Moscow, Hon-Kong, Tokyo each of these towns has something to offer instead of everytime recycled towns of USA... imagine Reapers walking around Red Square in future or somewhere near the old Parliament in Berlin, rather than see another copy of what we already have seen.

BioWare with that Earth related DLC you should add New York a location in Singleplayer and Multiplayer. I know New York my home where I live. I will love to see what New York would be like in Mass Effect before or after. It would be awesome to if we could have a Offline Simulation that's like Multiplayer and Piniacle Station that have all locations, game modes, weapons and species. I would really like that idea and be happy to pay for it. Now I think New York should be featured, it's one of the greatest Locations, lot of history in both real and Mass Effect and most populated, interesting and populated area. That what I think, it beavool location. :)

New York has been done to death after Crysis 2 and partially Crysis 3.

I rather a location NOT on Earth.

Otherwise, people here will start arguing why the chosen place is used, & not their home city which supposedly more interesting, & they pay for the game etc.

A turian colony or homeworld would be nice. I have yet to see a female Turian in all 3 game.

No. New York can p*ss off. We've seen it in every other video game and it's nice to see other locations in the world other than New York. So shut up OP.

You want New York? Play Darksiders, GTA4, Crysis 2, Crysis 3, Spiderman etc etc etc etc list goes on and on and on. Not to mention the damn movies. Godzilla, Independence Day... I can go on again. It's (again) been done so many times in so many different eras (past, present, future) that it's nice to see a video game that features Earth locations stay as far away from New York as possible. Screw New York.

OH LAWD T3H.. EMPIRE STAT BILLIN BEEN SHOT DAUN BY REPPER. WE MUST AVENG IT.

No thanks.

Play Crysis 2. You spend the whole game shooting aliens and rogue marines in Manhattan's streets. I don't want any New York in Mass Effect.

Sorry, but no. NY is a great city, but overused. Kuala Lumpur, Rio, Shanghai, Amsterdam or Istanbul would be much more interesting. Anywhere but NY, really.
And just because people disagree, doesn't make them whiners.

Personally, I think RE6 has the right idea with Bejing. Insanely High population leading to millions of deaths. Actually, if the reapers wanted to harvest as many humans as possible, why not go there? Maybe the "balance" of population changes in the future.

Big Fat NO to New York, and a Big Fat YES to Tokyo.
Tokyo deserves to be attacked by something that's not Godzilla-related..
