Playing DA:O for the first time ever and I'm stoked as frack! But I've got a few questions though.

Is there a particular order I should play the DLC's? So that some of it's elements don't interfere with any character progression, quests, etc? I remember ME2's Arrival DLC was best played after the suicide mission, is there anything like this here?

Then after everything hit up Awakening right?

Also, any other gameplay tips are appreciated to ensure my enjoyment and survival.

Thanks!!

Origin-Awakening-Golem-Witch Hunt=Epic.

Darkspawn and Leliana Song for your own order.

Chronicles gives an alternate ending, so you might want to complete Origins at least once before playing it to avoid spoilers.

There is a pretty good compilation page for various guides here. Also, take some time to get acquainted with the tactics system. There is an introduction here

Thanks for the input guys. I have another question, I tried installing the contents of the second disc which includes all the DLC and Awakening and it gave me an error saying I need a HDD to download the expansion. I looked around and despite all the ambiguous questions/answers, it seems that I will definitely need an official XBox 360 HDD to make any progress. Is this true? Or is there a way around it? I'm currently using an external hard drive with 15 GB of free space and it still gives me that error message.

Hopefully I can find a 20 GB HDD somewhere cheap.

Can anybody confirm this?

Yes you will need an official Xbox HDD to install any expansion packs like that, I remember having the same problem with Shivering Isles.

The correct chronological order is:

Leliana's Song
Vanilla Origins in any order you want, with the Stone Prisoner, Warden's Keep and Return to Ostagar completed before the end of Origins.
Awakening
Golems of Amgarrak
Witch Hunt

This is determined through codex entries/Bioware saying things like "Witch Hunt is the last adventure for the Warden" As you can see, there is still quite a lot of choice in the order of how you do things in Origins.

Thanks so much, DuskWarden! You went ahead and answered both of my important questions so thanks again. I just ordered a 20 GB HDD from Amazon for under $20 (shipping included), although it's used, which is 90% of all 20 GB's you'll find.

I'm so stoked to try out all the DLC's.

I would not play Leliana's Song until you've at least finished her quest in Origins.

I'd definitely go

- Origins (the DLCs that are contained within that campaign played whenever you feel like
- Optional*, Darkspawn Chronicles, Leliana's Song
- Awakening
- Golems of Amgarrak
- Witch Hunt

* - While these optional side-campaigns can theoretically be played at any time, I'd never recommend any one to play them before finishing their first game of Origins, no matter where they are on the time line. It's simply a better experience that way and you'll be safe from Origins spoilers.

One crucial game play tip: the TAB key. Use it a lot. A lot alotalotalot.

It highlights things you can interact with, and without it, you're bound to miss many, many things. (Personally, I changed the key bindings myself to change the key from TAB to z, as I find the z key more conveniently placed on the keyboard.)

Oh I wouldn't play through Leliana's song first, I was just telling the guy the correct chronological order.

And that's definitely a good tip about tab. Personally my mouse has some numbers on the side and I rebind the highlight objects one to one of those.

I bound tab to the scrolling button on my mouse, easiest for me.
