So that means they've banned close to 2000 players now. I wonder how many people are still playing at this point.

"Would you believe people are STILL using the host disconnect glitch!?"
"They're fools, we should ban them."

"Didn't we fix that in the patch?"
"Looks like it didn't work, and banning them's easier than fixing the problem in the first place anyway"
Fix'd.

The less you know about exploits, the less likely you are to perform them =) It's not fair towards other players to cheat.
I don't think I would try to cheat, I don't even farm for credits. Ignorance is bliss!

Probably is, and effective it would seem.

If by 'effective' you mean 'stops people from playing', then yes, it's absolutely effective.
It also happens to be determental to the community, but that's beside the point, right? What matters is that those 2000 anonymous cheaters, whom we know absolutely nothing about, will never again darken our halls with whatever non-descript villainy they commited to earn those bans.
Hurray for fewer players! Soon we'll know one another by name! =D

It was possible on the XBox as well - don't know about PS3.

Now that the game is 30 bucks. There are many new players out there. Just you what till the game becomes 20 bucks. Heck they should sell the multiplayer for 10 and then we see millions more.

They've sold >2 million copies. They've banned about 0.1% of possible players.

what's the host disconnect glitch?
Without going into the mechanics, it is an exploit that allows players to begin a game on wave ten, so as to gain 34k ish every couple of minutes

'Some' people might be more likely to buy it at the reduced price, but that doesn't mean they'll be playing the Multiplayer, or for very long.
Price drops usually mean the game isn't selling well, or they're going to be pushing new premium DLC. In this case it could be both.

0.1% of all the total players, yeah. We don't know how many players still play, or how many of the ones they banned were current. Like I said in my second post, they were anonymous, and all we know is that we won't see them again. :\\

I don't see how the host migration glitch could still be working. Whenever I lose my connection I lose my credits, even if I reconnect immediately.
That's not how the glitch works - the glitch resets a multiplayer game, but starts it back at Wave 10 so you get the one objective wave with the most credit output without needing to trudge through the first nine. It was efficient if nothing else.

Actually rather glad. At least they won't have the ones that cheat on there and that will make the game more enjoyable for those that are left.
I don't get cheating on this silly MP game anyway. Whats the point? So you can get tons of credits quickly to max out stuff you don't use or want? Its ridiculous.

Yea, I saw this earlier and thought, dang, they are going after them like crazy! People say they won't have anyone left but thats doubtful.
The future of the game and the community could still go both ways, but their idea of damage control is troubling. The new Rocket Glitch problem, for instance, is being treated very poorly.

Yes and no. The ones who used exploits were a mixed group just like any other group. Some of them were antisocial, self-righteous ****s. Others were helpful, considerate, and good-spirited gents. Fact is that they're anonymous - we don't know who they were or what the impact on the game will be.

Part of it's backlash on the RNG system, but some people actually really enjoy playing around with the game. I myself find the new Rocket Glitch hilarious, and I got a kick out of watching it happen. I'm also a little amused by BW's knee-jerk "BAN ALL THE THINGS!" reaction, but less amused by the potential consequences of said reaction.
