We'd all like to see bugs and exploits get fixed. I don't think there's a single person here that actively thinks, "Boy, I hope Bioware doesn't fix their bugs." .. Except maybe people who cheat. They're probably the only people who don't want Bioware to fix things. And even that's a stretch.

Oh even they want fixes come on cheaters like smgs and vanguards too lol

The bioware forums should have something like gamefaqs where you can hide posts from people you hate

You wouldn't need to hate if you weren't a little lying troll. You would probably get along with everyone much better.

I don't care if they have more credits than me provided they earned them.

How is that different from what I said? How does how they earned their credits impact you in the slightest?

Either you really don't understand or you don't want to...
It devalues the game for others. Earning means making an effort, not getting the credits for free. Credits is one of the rewards in this game. If others don't even have to make an effort, what is your new character / weapon worth? It's laughable, because others got it for free and you wasted your time actually playing for credits. If cheaters are allowed to prosper, they'll spread and one day you won't find a lobby without any kind of glitch-abuse. You really want that? It happen to other games before. Namely Enemy Territory. As it was free, banning was totally ineffective. In the end, you had more cheaters in a public match than honest players. Great future. I don't want that. I want to enjoy Mass Effect Multiplyer the way it was meant to be played. I can't do that if half of the players cheat to get something others have to acutally work for...,

It's the same with cheating on a test in school - it doesn't hurt anyone. That's no reason not to punish it. You fail to realize, that just because the wrong you're doing doesn't seem to hurt anyone is reason for not punishing it.

But that's a two-way street - no modification also means no creativity. The Zombie Mod is a bannable offense, despite removing the incentive for credits. It looked like a fun gametype, but I don't know if anyone will ever be able to play it again.

Really? Cheaters are creative? You're not serious, are you? The blatantly dull down the game into nothingness, you don't even have to play it to reap its rewards. Great way of creativity. Just the same kind of creativity as copy / pasting a book. The Husk-Zombie-Mode might have been a nice idea. But it's a grey-area. You have to draw the line somewhere. Bioware does draw a very strict line - otherwise the discussions begin - can you guarantee you won't get more XP from the Husk-mode than normal? Can you guarantee, that only people who actively want are put into these games by matchmaking? No. So, it's banned. Simple as that.

Any bugs left at a late stage like this is probably caused by some non-obvious working of the code, and fixing it may introduce bugs somewhere else. There's little reason to believe that the developers intentionally ignore bugs because they can just ban those taking advantage of them. The cheaters quite likely disturb the game of others as well, since game statistics are collected all the time. I think we can safely guess that these statistics weigh heavily when they try to fix balancing issues. Cheaters may skew the statistics, and therefore cause more difficult enemies for which the non-cheater cannot be prepared for. This would ruin the game of honest people.

You guys are on a roll!

Seriously, I'm glad they're banning people like this. I was once in a game that started at the last wave and I left immediately. I have no idea why people would use exploits or cheats to get money since it ruins the experience. Once you have everything, where's the fun?

Perhaps using unlocked weapons and characters to customize your unique class to play whatever difficulty you feel confident on?  It doesn't ruin the experience at all, its just a way of bypassing the BS of the store system.

Seriously though, its a co-op game, I can't understand how people are happy that there banning people, not to say what their doing is justifiyable and not saying cheaters shouldn't be banned, I'm just saying we shouldn't be happy or glad about banning others in cooperative games where one persons individual actions rarely effects the outcome of another.

How can I be happy that they're banning people? Because the people they're banning are CHEATING. They are BREAKING THE RULES. The rules WE all agreed to follow. They are purpousfully trying to gain advantages over other people. I play to have fun. Playing in a group with a bunch of cheating twits isn't fun.

You don't want to be banned, then don't cheat. It's that simple. 1 + 1 = 2. And if you ARE banned for cheating... don't expect me to feel bad for you. Accept some personal responsibility for once.

Don't expect people to feel sorry for them, like I don't expect people to be happy or glad that there banned.  Didn't effect my experience either way.

Cheaters spoil the fun even in this cooperative game as they ruin the chances to enjoy a fair, challenging and interesting match.

So yeah, I am very happy they were banned. There is no place for cheaters in online gaming, period.

BW internal meeting yesterday:

"Would you believe people are STILL using the host disconnect glitch!?"
"They're fools, we should ban them."
"Didn't we fix that in the patch?"
"Looks like it didn't work, and banning them's easier than fixing the problem in the first place anyway"

Fix'd.

Probably is, and effective it would seem.

If by 'effective' you mean 'stops people from playing', then yes, it's absolutely effective.
It also happens to be determental to the community, but that's beside the point, right? What matters is that those 2000 anonymous cheaters, whom we know absolutely nothing about, will never again darken our halls with whatever non-descript villainy they commited to earn those bans.

Hurray for fewer players! Soon we'll know one another by name! =D

Who wants a community full of pathetic cheaters?

And the "non-descript villainty" was pretty clearly indicated. They did a specific exploit. That's not "non-descript", that's "clearly identified". Your negative opinion must mean you've got something to worry about, hmm?

It was possible on the XBox as well - don't know about PS3.

So that means they've banned close to 2000 players now. I wonder how many people are still playing at this point.

They've sold >2 million copies. They've banned about 0.1% of possible players.

It's unlikely even 10,000 plays the game anymore.  MP or no.

Are we all forgetting that it takes full cooperation of the lobby to even pull off the host-migration? You can't accidentally end up in said lobby, so you'll likely never run into them. Besides, if we are worried about unfair advantages, anyone can have an "unfair advantage" over someone else, like say, being able to play a hell of alot more than someone else, or just dropping gratuitous amonts of apparently disposable income. I have neither the time nor money to keep up with others but I guess thats completely fair, right? I cannot believe this is even an issue in co-op.
But none of this discussion matters anyway because the hammer has been dropped.

Can't be happy that there are less people to be playing, cause those people didn't  ruin  my chance at fair play of the game, the store does since I keep unlocking stuff that I already unlocked, but thats a different story entirely.  The only time I will be happy that cheaters are banned are only in multiplayer games where cheating heavily influences how other people play.

There are still plenty of people playing ME3 multiplayer; I have no problem finding a game / lobby to join, or getting others to join my lobby. And no cheaters. :)

I've played with many cheaters and leechers before. It makes me quit the game and try to find another lobby. It definitely affects my experience.
