Is there any way to by-pass the Faith Quest? There is a bug on patch 1.04 which means that the program sticks on ...Loading after defeating the mages in the throne room, so I'd rather avoid the quest but this doesn't seem possible.
Alternatively, if you do not complete the quest or do not undertake it in the first place, will this affect Sebastian's support (if I kill Anders but support the mages)? He is on 100% friendship but without the Faith quest I will be unable to complete any quests concerning him in Act 3.

Isn't Faith a companion quest? Those are not mamdatory.

I realise it is not mandatory to the story but it is necessary to complete Sebastian's story. Admittedly his romance is not much compared with the others but you have to go through all his companion quests to get it. Since you cannot simply turn down the Faith quest and refuse to do it, I either have to accept it and not finish it or ignore it altogether. Either way that leaves Sebastian companion quests unfinished. Now it has been suggested in past that companion loyalty at the end is based on their friendship/rivalry and whether you have done all their quests (or refused to do them when given the option - as with Merrill and that tool in Act 2).
So I was wondering if there was some way of altering a code somewhere to make it seem as though the Faith quest has been completed.

If you have the developer's console enabled, use: runscript zz_seb_debug, go to Faith-Act 3 and select "Return to Elthina to complete the quest.
