Can you imagine. All those months of hard work, and weeks of fan outcries, has come down to the extended epilogue that needed to be made to clarify an ending.

Which is everyone on the Normandy is officially stranded, but at least they made cupcakes.

Just waiting until they "clarify" how they magically landed on a dextro-garden-world with appropriate atmospheric conditions so Tali and Garrus don't starve to death, slowly, and the entire crew doesn't suffocate within minutes of walking out.

You missed the info leaking out that had eight hour meetings about the EC? Oy Vey.

So you know these 8 hour meetings was when they wrote it? When did this even happen?

Its a lie, BioWare has no QA team. "If" they did ME3 would have been a heck of a lot better (shipping it with a face import bug and a broken journal, gee thanks "QA team").

Nah, I'd imagine they have a wonderful QA team that, like most QA teams, was ignored.

"If" true they weren't the first ones ignored (it was the fans) and "they" won't be the last, what a "wonderful company" (a pox upon them)

And just for the record, just because a certain actor/actress hasn't reported on twitter that they are recording... means absolutely nothing. There's only been a few that have said a word, and you can't tell me they are the only ones that will be in the EC. I gaurantee you guys, most everyone will be back. Just because they didn't tell everyone on twitter, doesn't mean they're not involved.

Some tweet more than others. Some are told to tweet. It literally means nothing. We'll know who's in it when we see the EC. The cast will not be half a**ed. Most if not everyone will be back.

So for you Taboo, just because Strahovski hasn't said anything, doesn't mean a thing. You already know that. And I already know you don't care, but still, it would be better if Miranda had a voice. ;)

I'm guessing that's the general hope they have for the EC throw out the fan service and ignore the other nonsense.

It's the best they can hope for: Give a good funeral service / reunion and a happy ending and everybody will shut up.

It'll probably work, too, tragically. Hell, I admit that if they had shipped the game with that, I probably wouldn't have cared as much either.

To be honest so would I, but now given the scale of the self inflicted wound, my feelings towards Bioware have shifted.

To this day it amazes me how a company that was involved in KOTOR could repeat many of Obsidans mistakes with KOTOR 2.

It's somewhat amusing how you continually go on about this, when you've had that same banner for 3 months.

I think people get it.

I protested silently. This is how I do it.

And sent in over fifteen pages of notes to Bioware.

THAT was the most I've done.

Seriously, you'll probably get an ending where a nearby ship rescues them depending on your choices, or readiness.

Brace yourselves. This will either make or break the Mass Effect universe for us all...even more.

This... the day the Extended Cut is released.... there may be peace... or.... there will be a ****storm.... that we cannot even comprehend

This.

Unfotunately.

I doubt it, those who care have either decided to forgive or have lost interest in caring. In the end that was the main point of the EC.

to make people go "**** it i'm out"?

how many are left that will come back after this time and care to the same level of outrage?
Those that are going to download it are in one way or another aleady willingly to forgive and forget, those that aren't won't . The EC pushed the the backlash off the radar and gave them time to PR it.

My expectations fo rthe EC are so low that my collectors edition disc can stay as a beermat, it's more use to me than on the PC.

This. I'm one of those people who isn't even going to bother with Bioware anymore if the EC sucks, since, hey, Halo 4, Assassin's Creed 3, Dead Space 3, Crysis 3. If it does an amazing job of providing closure, I'll say "It's about damn time, some closure!" and go back to playing other games, and maybe a bit of ME3 multiplayer here and there. This whole rage storm over the ending has worn me out, and I'm sure many other people feel the same way.

Not if Hackett gives the order in Extended scenes.

So, what, is it being implied that it's more or less finished, then? As in we could potentially have it tomorrow? Because that would, amusingly, be the exact day I suspected they would release it--the first day of summer. Just like they said--a summer release.

Unless the team is currently working on something else, we could assume this is EC related. I don't know whether or not the same team does the multiplayer, but it doesn't seem like he'd be that relieved from some standard new fare.

No. What I'm thinking is that everyone's custom tailored aftermath could potentially hit a lot of bugs triggering the wrong scenes, etc. But to me, it seems more on that kind of scale for visible relief.

Different teams.

ALL of the single player team has been working on the EC.

I was under the impression they pulled all staff in to get it done quicker, hence why Dragon Age 2 The Exalted March dlc was cancelled.

Just looked it up myself, dw. Someone got their facts mixed up...

It's been three months. That's longer than LotSB.

Eh.

LotSB would have already been written, EC DLC was from scratch.

No. LOTSB was a response to fans wanting more Liara in ME2. It was decided upon after release.

Actually, no. A Shadow Broker DLC was planned from the outset, but not yet completely fleshed out by the time ME2 was released, as evidenced by this unused dialogue found in the original ME2 files:

Just because they had plans to do something, didn't mean they had a script written. Regardless, it is beside the point. All of ME2's DLC was not pre-written. Arrival was decided upon after release. Point being, it doesn't take but a week or two of a team of writers to produce a script for a couple hrs of DLC content. So, in the end, it doesn't change the development time all that much. The EC has been worked on for at least 2 months, which is the same amount of time most of ME2's DLC was. And we don't even know they're finished yet. So, they've put quite a bit of time into it.

I'm in two minds about it's release. While the event in July would be fine I don't see them elevaing this to something to celebrate, at the end of the day no matter how much PR it's not the best. Could they want to sneak it out quietly?

Then Hackett is an idiot for ordering the building something--and subsequently ordering the firing of--something of which he has no idea the proceeding consequences.

To guarantee that it doesn't kill everyone he has to say, "NAO RUN AWAE LAWL," seriously?

There is no "good" consequence from this.

This one looks a little iffy to me... but that's because I'm a huge fan of Dead Space and I don't like the direction they're going with it. But I agree with everything you said.

You'd think they would have had those when someone presented those abysmal ending options in the first place, but no.

I agree with you fully on that.

Someone told me yesterday that Patrick Weekes had to fight to get the squad goodbyes.
