A lot of people also do it because the game crashes so much and they dont want to risk a disconect on extraction, which means wasted time, no credits, and loss of consumables.

I dont tell other people to do it , but I will always agree to do it because of this.

This.

If there was a 10K extra cash at wave 11, then sure.

If I'm playing with people I know, I always do, on gold. If I'm on gold, I'm usually either level 20 or very close (don't have the skill to do it on lower levels), and often enough, I'm playing on a team of level 20s...

I know a lot of people are trying REALLY hard to get to that elusive level 21, but there's absolutely no point to extracting if the whole team is level 20. It's a waste of time. Level 21 cannot be reached! That level 20 XP does nothing! You just waste 2+ minutes of your life.

And some people are playing just for fun instead of staring at XP or credits.

Don't say "instead of." My fun in any RPG comes from a sense of meaningful progression. I don't find it particularly fun to extract, in large part because there's just no progression associated with it. It isn't an "instead of" for me or others like me. Fun is gained through meaningful progression, not just through running around forr 2 minutes hoping no one gets too intimate with a banshee.

I do this when the whole team is level 20. If anyone is under level 20 then I will try for extraction. Also, one of my regular teammates is troubled by frequent disconnects, so we always die immediately after getting the credits for him to mitigate the risk of him disconnecting and losing everything.

QFT

My experience has been that roughly 9/10 players will attempt to play the match through to the end every time. It can be a matter of pride, a matter of not knowing how credits are awarded, a fear of losing xp/credits or even possibly paranoia over getting banned, or any combination thereof.

I'll only suggest this in PUGs if a) most of the team is already dead after getting the wave 10 credits, or B) we're on FBWGG with four level 20 characters. In private matches, we're pretty good about communicating the plan from the get-go.

Personally, I don't have a problem with it. It's not even a farming efficiency thing. Between the massive armor damage resistances, stun-locking boss attacks, and the small yet ever-present risk of either me or the host losing the connection to the server, Gold just gets tedious and cheap at times. Frankly, I've killed so many Geth/Cerberus/Reapers on all difficulty levels, hearing the same bloody voice repeat the same bloody commands to do the same bloody objectives, I feel no urge to see every match all the way through.

Having said that, everyone needs to be on board. Finishing wave 10 and the 2 minute extraction is peanuts compared to watching some stubborn dinkus draw the match out for 10 more minutes while he goes through all 5 medi gels trying to beat  a whole map's worth of enemies on his own.

Here's an idea: how about the credits won during the match get multiplied depending on how successful the extraction goes? Like, full extraction gets double, partial 1.5, lone survivor 1.25, and no multiplier for failed extraction (but you still get the standard credits)?

Like others; I try my best to extract after getting the credits during wave 10, will mash the x button if down, but use absolutely no consumables.

No incentive, and wastes resources which could be used next game.

If they didn't want to give you more xp or credits, even like +1 to each consumable for full extract would make it more tempting.

I always try for full extraction. I will use consumables to get extracted alive. I do it for fun. You know, that thing we're all supposed to be having by playing this game? If you're so jaded about credits that you purposely die on wave 11 just to get to the next game faster then you're doing it wrong, IMHO. I admit, the game designers should put some kind of credit incentive to achieve extraction. Or, they should if it really matters to them. I guess they believe everybody on Multiplayer is there to boost their Single Player Campaign War Assets. That is wrong and they should realize that. The suicide on wave 11 epidemic is a direct result of a misaligned game mechanic and it should be fixed.

That said, if I notice everybody go down on purpose on wave 11 I'll just quit the game. I don't care. I'd rather lose the credits than be a part of some cheesy philosophy that credits are the most important reason to keep playing.

I actually do this all the time. There's no real incentive any more to finish extraction. Bioware needs to change this up a bit

I always play to the extraction, but have noticed lately an awful lot of players who just prefer to die and get it over with. For me, it just makes sense narratively to play for the extraction, so that the fiction level to the game remains true too. I do agree that there ought to be some form of incentive for the extraction, though, and was surprised to discover that there actually wasn't.

Same here. I keep going and will attempt to survive long enough to extract. But I won't use a medi-gel.  I might use a rocket if I can take out a whole spawn, but only for the satisfaction of blowing a bunch of things up.

Unfortunately, it's been proved that you've got more chance getting permanent gear from Spectre Packs, so for those going for it, regular Spectre is the way to go.

You shouldn't be so quick calling people idiots, that can backfire.

The word proof always makes me skeptical. Can you point me to it so I can see for myself?

I don't know where to find proof, to be honest. But I do agree that Spectre Packs give more permanent gear than Premiums. Premiums give more chance for Ultra-Rares, and Spectres give a better chance of getting perm gear. I know I've received a whole lot more perm gear by buying Spectres than premiums.

Best reason to die on wave 10 after mission completion is to lower the chances of the servers disconnect glitch and lose every thing gained throughout the match.
Kind of obvious really.

I've had a few funny cases with that - when on wave 11 people start to randomly change positions not knowing whether to camp here or lz, and someone dies just because he got flanked in the mess and others start to yell at him for presumably deliberate action.

All of my classes are level 20 and so extraction has no benefit to me, but I still attempt to extract from every match, I'll even use consumables even though it's not economic at all.

If the randoms are really bad I'll wipe on purpose if see them fo down. If I think they're going to clutch ill stay up to save time, If I'm with friends we'll wipe on purpose most of the time.

Long story short, I don't care about the extra xp as im level 20 on all characters, and the xp lost is regained by starting a new game 3 minutes faster anyway

Sometimes I'll extract for fun, but there's no incentive or me to do so other than that.

Spectre packs have one more equipment spot than Premium's, that's why you think you are getting more.

Everything is RNG, but facts remain facts, you get more Gold Cards for your money in premiums than you do in regular packs.

Why are you buying Spectre packs for gear? You get gold gear also from Veteran packs with just as many equipment spots as Spectre packs.

I'll always try my best to extract, and if I disconnect... big deal. I even use consumables. Why ? Just for fun. I enjoy it even if it's not the most efficient for credits. I don't play for credits anyway.
That said, everyone's free to play as they like.

extraction is pointless for me since i do not promote. my friends do, however, so most of the time i extract so they get xp. if im playing with randoms though i just do not care after i get the money. im not going to purposefully die, but im gonna half-ass it and not use any consumables.

If they really want us that are after credits to go through wave 11 add some minor bonus credits of up to 5k on say gold and I'll consider that worth the extra 3-4 mins of hassle to drag myself when I'm a lvl 20 to that extraction point thank you very much till then it helps solve my dilemma of lack of time in a day ... not all of us hav ea full day to burn up and waste on a game ya know xD it really should be made more worth our while on wave 11 with a tiny bit more bonus credits I mean it's okay to give us EXP but not all of us are promotional types I have no NEED to exist on a leaders board and if I wan tot really make it worth a while to promote ... find a way other than just N7 rating and Military points... how about some credits per promotion like 10k per promote... make it worth our while thank you

I wont purposefully die after completing the wave 10 objective but If I go down and the situation looks bad I'm not willing to blow my consumables to get to extraction. This actually happened to me last night. We disabled the last device and the area was swarming with phantoms. 2 guys went down but not out then I went down. One guy was out of medigels and I still had a couple left but I didnt use it as the chances were I'd be down again in a few seconds. If I was sitting on a pile of medigels then I would probably have continued but I'm not.
