Favorite "old" games?

When I say "old" I mean anything before this generation of games, i.e. Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, 3DS, PSVita, and any PC/Mac (with the current generation.) games that came out.
Well to start, I will mention my favorite of all time is the Legend of Legaia. Very old school JRPG for the PS1. But the fact that it has hard core martial arts attacks (even if they were unrealistic and over-the-top excluding the hyper attacks which were done via a specific plot element...) and an intense tactics system underneath that layer of simplicity makes it fun for me. Also, this is one of the hardest games I have ever played. Most of you may have not heard of it though as it is a very obscure game. Nothing an emulator can't fix though.
PS1 Mention: Chrono Cross, FF7-9 and FF Tactics
PS2 favorite: Kingdom Hearts 2. This is the only game I have done EVERYTHING in. and I mean Everything!
PS2 Mention: FF X
Gamecube Favorite: LoZ: Twilight Princess/ Wind Waker. both are awesome. 'nuff said.
SNES Favorite: FF2(4) and Chrono Trigger. They are the best old school games ever!
Xbox Favorite: SW:KoToR 1 and 2
GBA favorite: Fire Emblem (7)
PC: Might and Magic 7(mostly in general though.) and most Bioware games for the PC.
Sorry if this is an annoying wall of text.

I'd have to pick Quake and Quake 2.
I used to be a huge id Software fan until Quake 3.

the pre-Spider-man 2 Spider-man games (2000, Enter Electro, etc)
Super Castlevania 4
Megaman X-X6
off the top of my head.
I won't consider the Gamcube, Xbox, and PS2 old until the next generation of Consoles.

I never really cared for the gameplay itself as much, but the art style was something I thought they got down pretty well.Heretic, Hexen
I was very iffy about that game. It's almost like trying to take Earthbound/Mother 3's goofy narrative style into a cyberpunk setting. I enjoyed it, but you can't really say it felt believable. Gotta love the cathedral on hephaestus, though. I still want that T-shirt...Anachronox.
It's certainly the most original, out of the game lists above.PLANESCAPE: TORMENT!!!

I dunno. I'd never beable to name all of them.
And I try not to include NES games and things like that because I would very rarely choose them over a newer game. I mean, Mario and Zelda are fun and all, but games are getting better made these days. I replay old games for the nostalgia, or out of boredom. I don't think for a second that Tetris is anywhere near as amazing as MGS4. And I'll choose MGS4 over Tetris every single time.
Old games are fun, sure, but stuff has gotten better over the years, and the older a game gets, the less fun it is. Nostalgia only fuels a gamer for so long before he says "This is boring."
