I've been looking on here as well as on the game and just can't seem to find the scene for the axameter. Does anyone remember if they were a high level and where they found it? Please PM me with how you found it.

If it's the weapon I'm thinking of, there's a random encounter later in the game that pits you against a bunch of spiders. Scattered around the area are cocooned corpeses. I'm pretty sure one of those cocooned corpses had the thing.

I was there myself before it wasn't I looked on youtube and there is a scene like sword in the stone for it but I still haven't had any luck finding it.

I have never gotten that particular Random Encounter myself. I just assumed that the guide was wrong, and that encounter didn't actually exist. I could swear I've gotten the Axameter, but I unfortunatley can't confirm it.

I got it on my first playthrough. Unfortunately I can't remember for the life of me how far along in the main quest arc I was before I got it. It is indeed a random encounter, and it does play out in a silly Sword in the Stone kind of way. There's even a Monty Python reference.
Can't tell you how to get it but it DOES exist.

Ive got it from my second playthrough. I was for the first time traveling only with my main char. No party. It was like the sword in the stone, with bunch of the ppl around trying to get it out of some sort of log. Try traveling alone and u might get it.

I've only seen the random encounter once. Was near the middle of a playthrough. Had a group of 4. I think it is just a low trigger rate, and you might have to be in a forested area (the random encounter 2da's reference terrain, unsure how/if actually checked by the game).
Anyway, its the axe version of sword in the stone... is the axe that useful?

Oh wow really so I guess it wouldn't happen if I just kept moving up and down between the forest then?

Really, was it in that one? I actually got that random encounter with the spiders & the vaguely Shelob vibe to it. Hmmm, don't remember picking up anything with that name though. Maybe I missed a cocoon or wasn't paying attention...err, does it add a codex entry?

According to the guide you have imposable low chance of ever seeing it. Mega rare encounter apparently. Just like the one ring one.

No problem, if i remember correctly you get it from travailing to a forest location but like i said its insanely rare to get.

There is also a rare encounter with a shade ambush and two bodies. The note says, "Why didn't we take the flying eagles?!"

Oh, I feel so dumb! I had the Shade encounter but never got the Lotr reference, and I am a fan. LOL. Must be because I was playing all night without any sleep ;D The sword in the stone is definitely different from the Spiders one, since I had the latter but not the former.
