Name one thing about your fellow gamers, that pisses you off.

Sure looks like misogyny to me.
Plus she was right to add to it, It may look better on Pc but it does play better on Xbox.

I'll take quality over quantity every time. Borderlands wasn't all that great or all that interesting once I got past the initial oohing and aahing because of the nice cel-shaded graphics. It ended up being as boring as hell and a repetitive grind that I ended up forcing myself to finish. What did it have...lots of guns, annoying respawning enemies, irritating checkpoints, a thin storyline and a craptastic ending.
To reiterate what I said in a comment on another site about the quality over quantity issue, I would have traded in a considerable amount of the time I spent in Borderlands for a better story and just one single character that I cared about it and could connect with.
As for one things that annoys me about my fellow gamers...I don't just have one thing. Here are all the things that I can think of atm:
1. Their elitism, especially when fellow PC gamers start blaming everything terrible in the universe on console gamers.
2. Their belief that they're the "true" fans and that anyone who opposes them or has different opinions is not a true fan.
3. Their seemingly endless complaining.
4. Their inability to move on with their lives.
5. 99% of their (at this point) incredibly redundant threads.
6. Their rudeness and their occasionally reprehensible behavior (vicious attacks on devs, verbal threats, etc.).
7. Whenever one of them uses the phrase "dumbed down" because a game has gone in a direction that they personally don't like.
8. Some of their more out-there protest ideas - like that one about the billboard(s) to protest the ME3 endings.

People who complain about complaining.
People who **** about that some of us are bitterly disappointed in the strong "dumbing down" tendency that sickens the industry in later years. And, again, typically do it with personal attacks.
People who thinks a lot of things are just "subjective", and that they there, someway, regardless of their own opinion, have some point.

The ones who take their games so seriously that if they acquire an "activist" mindset as passionate as political activists, except they're channeling it toward the "injustices" of some video game company instead. Just seems... really, really sad.

Case in point my youngest brother is a pretty cool guy. But once he starts playing Gears of War or Call of Duty he swears like a drunken sailor who just got out of a trucker convention. It's disgusting. And I'm not prude I mean I swear a lot and I don't want to sound like I'm on my high horse but there's only a certain amount of whining and ****ing you can take. Especially over a video game. GTFU!

It's still behavior that's way out of line. They can disagree with her all they want, but they should at least have some f**king respect and not resort to labeling her in such a manner.TheMufflon wrote...

The crucial par of that sentence being "in response". Disagreeing with the opinion of a woman (even rudely) is not misogyny. Hatered of a woman is not hatred of women. Hatred of a person because of their actions or opinions is not the same as hatred of a person because of who that person is.

The demand that they feel like a hero: This mindset generally translates to "I want to play as BadassMchandsomeAwesomepants and get away with whatever the hell I want".
Things that come with this mindset are:
- The demand that they always get a happy ending.
- The demand that whenever they're faced with a tough decision they should always get a third option.
- The insistance that if a game's an RPG they should be able to have the world conform to their whims.
The degredation of female characters: One need look no further then Samus Aran. A strong, confident female character who wears an iconic [shapeless] badarse armour. Yet, do a quick google search for a picture of her and what you'll get is thousands of tarted up pictures in minimal attire with balloon breasts and a dumb doe eyed expression.
What's worse is it's this image of her that's leaking into later games. Thanks fans.

See, personally, I feel people should be upfront with what they want in a game, but if a company isn't providing that for them, they need to eventually move on and find a company that is willing to fill the need.Ivandra Ceruden wrote...
Also the 'don't like it, don't buy it' mentality. People, and especially gamers, should stay critical instead of letting (gaming) companies willingly screw them over time upon time again.
I think this is a tough sell for someone to understand when a company used to make games they enjoyed and then moved in another direction. You can want them to move backwards, but they're under no obligation to. This is where "if you don't like it, don't buy it" comes into play.
You're either vindicated when the company is a shadow of its former self in five years time, or in five years time the company is producing games that don't particularly suit your needs, but it doesn't matter, because Bethesda/CDProjekt/Joss Whedon is your Master now.
It's just a followup to my previous post of what doesn't necessarily ****** me off about fellow gamers, but perplexes me somewhat about them: they want something and confuse it with... I'm not sure of the best way to phrase it, but almost like an obligation to have it. I don't know of anything in the real world that is equivalent other than the right to live, and when you compare that to a game, then it's like... what?

There was a time when I would agree with you but looking back many games I played were barely an hour long.
Look at Megaman X... One of my favorite games of all time. You can get through that in less than an hour even if you get everything.
I keep saying I enjoy Uncharted's 8 hour campaign more than many of those 60+ hour RPGs and I MEANT IT.
Don't tell me I'm wrong your doing exactly what people are complaining about in this thread.

1) Fanboys. Which one? All of them. Especially, the PC and Console ones. PC fanboys assume EVERYONE can afford a High-end gaming pc and have the skills to build one. In reality, most -inluding myself- can't afford one (even if "it's just $500!!!1!!") and would rather have that money go into bills or food instead. And console fanboys, well, are just like PC fanboys, but more annoying. Makes everyone else miserable with their "PC vs. Console" wars. (I like and played all the systems , btw)
2) When people treat online gaming as a dating site. This happened to me when I first got Xbox Live, I keep on getting hit on from random strange guys or got picture messages of some guy's...uh, "manly parts". All I want to do is play a few rounds of a multiplayer game. If I wanted to get laid, online gaming wouldn't be my ideal choice.
