Name one thing about your fellow gamers, that pisses you off.

2. Thinking they know how to make better games than _any_ developer.
3. People who claim gaming is being dumbed down. No, it is being made less obnoxious and intrusive, removing the tedium and boring out of playing games.
4. People who think Alpha Protocol is a good game.

What pisses me off, you say? I have two things.
1) Fanboys. Which one? All of them. Especially, the PC and Console ones. PC fanboys assume EVERYONE can afford a High-end gaming pc and have the skills to build one. In reality, most -inluding myself- can't afford one (even if "it's just $500!!!1!!") and would rather have that money go into bills or food instead. And console fanboys, well, are just like PC fanboys, but more annoying. Makes everyone else miserable with their "PC vs. Console" wars. (I like and played all the systems , btw)
2) When people treat online gaming as a dating site. This happened to me when I first got Xbox Live, I keep on getting hit on from random strange guys or got picture messages of some guy's...uh, "manly parts". All I want to do is play a few rounds of a multiplayer game. If I wanted to get laid, online gaming wouldn't be my ideal choice.

I'm not saying that they aren't being dicks, I'm just saying that misogyny isn't the reason.

If you're taking the meaning of the word "misogyny" to mean hatred toward women, then likely, no, they probably don't hate women's very existence. But misogyny has been appropriated to mean derogatory toward women, and you might not like its watered-down more general usage, but words get (mis)used in such a manner all the time. For instance, I have no idea why being liberal is so evil based on its most basic definition, but politics appropriated the term for its own uses.TheMufflon wrote...

In any case, gamers can be quick to belittle, and they'll choose whatever means they can to make sure they get there. Confront them on that, they'll swear that in real life they're not sexist, homophobic, or racist. So what does that leave them? I guess that makes them general bullies. Equal-opportunity haters.

Personally I find cyber bullying to be rather pathetic. If you're going to call me an idiot, have the balls to at least say it to my face.

No. I, like every reasonable person with access to a dictionary, take it to mean hatred of women. There is a crucial difference.
But misogyny has been appropriated to mean derogatory toward women, and you might not like its watered-down more general usage, but words get (mis)used in such a manner all the time.
But that's not what the comments contained either. They were derogatory towards a person, who also happened to be a woman. Being rude to someone because of an opinion that person espouses doesn't make you a misogynyist/sexist/racist/homophobe just because the person also has a different gender/race/sexuality.

Especially number 2. Some popular mods have become games themselves. Team Fortress, Day Z will be eventually, Portal and the list can go on...

1 - Elitism. Especially PC elitism.
2 - Those who support a company without even thinking, unable to have an independent and honest opinion regardless of the feelings.
3 - Those who insult other players because of their decisions in their playthrough. Those who take a game too seriously, who can't make the difference with real life. ( oh you bastard, You ****, killed thousand of Mages, It's a genocide, how could you decide that, you are necessarily a bad guy in real life
4 - Those who come to impose their modern morality with the human rights, who play the activists and all that crap in a game that is set in a medieval period.

[general vent] Gaming is a form of entertainment, not everything is built to cater to you. Not all books, television shows, movies and such are happy and offer self satisfaction, why aren't you complaining about that?

-Studio Elitism
-Genre Eltism (I like RPG's but I have good fun with games like Bulletstorm too!-doesn't make me any less of a player)
-Age/Experience Elitism ( you know the ones who say things like "Well, I've probably been gaming longer than most of you so I know better..." - BTW, I'm getting up in age and my peers who think like that p*ss me off)
-most of the other things I agree with as well.

That pretty much sums it all up, from elitists to fanboys to corporate suck ups. I'm cool with just about everybody, but I have a real hard time staying level headed when folks open their cyber mouths and spew hypocritical commentary, decide they have the right to cast judgment on anyone who disagrees with them, or in general fail to treat others with the dignity and respect one should afford to human beings - up to the point where they prove they deserve neither. At which point, disengage and move on.
