I have been struggling for over a year now to get my BG to work on my computer but to no avail. there is two insurmountable problems I face. It installs ok, but if i try to turn on 3d acceleration, all hell breaks loose and i face a flickering screen of death!
To add insult to injury, even if i turn it off, and switch to 16 bit to get rid of the jagged fog of war, the now crappy looking game flatout refuses me area transit!
I have spent a LOT of time on the interwebs trying to find a cure, so either it is not there, or i'm an idiot. For once i'm hoping for the latter...
This happens with or without the WSM and affects both modded and unmodded versions of both my BG2 and Tutu.
My system specs:
Intel core i5 3.1 Ghz
Asus 450 GTS
and other... stuff
i'm running windows 7 64bit
i'm not really sure what other specs might be relevant...

Anyway any help would really be appreciated, since this is getting kinda rediculous...

The very first sticky on this forum covers this problem. Some indication that you've read it and have tried the suggestions would move this forward a lot.

Very sorry. I've thus far tried everything that they suggest, compatability mode etc, and nothing fixes it. I found no mention of this flickering, but my searching skills leave much to be desired. The procedure i have been following is thus:
Install BG1
Install TotSC
Patch TotSC
Install BG2
Intall ToB
Patch ToB
Intall Tutu
I have installed the WSM on Tutu, that does not fix things, but i'm holding out on installing it in BG2 so i can still use it to reinstall tutu should need arise.
I'm using the 4 in 1 box set, DVD release that I got a couple of years back. Sorry for the oversight

OK sorry, got a bit terse there, I thought this was a vanilla install. This is almost certainly a tutu problem. Did you install easytutu or vanilla tutu? Easytutu is better unless you want non-english. Searching for 'BG2 tutu flickering' returns several links which may help, or not.

Other than that, follow the tutu install order without deviation:

Hey thanks! My (thankfully) brief research led to the discovery that the flickering ceases if i turn triple buffering of in the nvidia controll panel. Now just the question of travel. I cannot go into ANY area other than the one i'm spawned in. Again this is both tutu (yes, i use easytutu) and the vanilla BG 2 installations. I tried searching this but found no solution. Any ideas?

Yup, it is as I suspected from the very beginning... I am an IDIOT. Complete moron to be sure. I have not played the game in so long that I have been RIGHT clicking to enter new areas when I should have been LEFT clicking. Sorry to have bothered you, and many thanks for your asistance!

Oops, not anything to do with tutu then. Well I'm glad you're sorted, and happy I didn't impede your progress more than helping it :D
