So, according to tweets by Chris Priestly on twitter, you HAVE to play this weekend as either a Vorcha Soldier/Sentinel, Batarian Soldier/Sentinel or Krogan Sentinel/Soldier/Vanguard, correct? (Just after some clarification is all...). If you don't have them unlocked, then you can't participate and get a commendation/victory pack at the end? That's a bit unfair to new players who just recently bought the game/or haven't unlocked them yet (I have unlocked all three Krogan, two Batarian and two Vorcha classes though) imo that is.

TBH, I'm probably just going to get the squad goal and ignore the allied goal... Don't like the Vorcha or Batarian classes and I can only just stomach the Krogan Vanguard...

Seriously? That's your choice, mate.

I only play a few chars, but I'm willing to branch out and give the Baterian Sentinal a go for a weekend - try something new!

That or accept some runs won't accept you, but once people have their Commendation sorted they might change back to their most common toons to play out the rest of the weekend/Community goal (unless the community goal does require the restricted toons - in which case they'll probably still swap back because they don't care about the community goal anyway).

Hm. I like that BioWare's trying different things with the weekends, but the requirement of playing with only those three races is going to hurt some people who don't have them thanks to the randomised store. A friend of mine recently got this for MP and I know she doesn't have any of these classes, which isn't for lack of trying.

It's also going to cause some awkward kicking and lobby jumping as people try to fill the squad goal.

I don't suppose BioWare could change this to something like 50% or more of the players have to be Batarians/Krogan/Vorcha? That would let soloists do their thing and still encourage people to try new classes.

This I agree with. In most matches I've been in the last few days, there's almost always one Vorcha in the team, so if the Allied Goal could be made that you have to have 2 of the races listed (Krogan, Vorcha or Batarian), it'd be a lot more user friendly to those who haven't unlocked those classes yet (It took me until last week to get my Asari Justicar from the Resurgence DLC >.<) and would more than likely lessen the chances of people being kicked from the teams just because they don't have those characters... as that WILL happen, especially with PUG's.

Well, it's always been my fantasy to be part of an angry Krogan team. This weekend has exponentially higher chances of me finally seeing that fantasy come true. And I don't think one day would be enough for me to hear all the "Wahahaha" I want to get it out of my system.

EDIT: You know what. I came to the realization that they might mod the game and just swarm us with mooks. A hundred mooks can be deadly.

Oh, I also want to add, one of my most enjoyable matches was with an all Krogan team.  It's actually a lot of fun.  Bodies just go flying all over the map.

Or, maybe BioWare is trying to throw a bone to the heaping pile of the community who cry and moan about the N7 weapons they recieve every other week.  Or for that matter, for all the players who whine and complain about every little thing possible.

I don't get the complaining about this sort of thing - it's a community event, it rewards frequent players, and it's rewarding them more than it's rewarding casual players... that's what they get for playing frequently, and having unlocked the characters.

I could understand not having the Vorcha unlocked, but the Krogan have been around for some time...

I don't mind reward/competition weekends being slightly biased towards people who play the games more frequently, but I am grateful that they toned it back on the last 3 events from "must extract on Gold" to "must promote", "must be part of a team that has extraction on silver" and "must be part of a team who extracts on any difficulty as long as the team is made up of only vorcha, batarian or krogan"

That's a huge step down in how hard it was to obtain, but you can't make everyone happy.

Agreed with all you said, I love N7 weekends, I very much look forward to them no matter what the goal(s) are.

We have a Bavarian soldier!!?? Guten Nacht Cerberus grunts!  
Hahahah, nah just joking but that would be F***ing awesome for all of us Deustch gamers. 

I do say though that a combination of just Sentinels, Soldiers and the occasional Vanguard will have a lot of trouble with an advanced tier set of enemies. (Primes, Phantoms, and Banshees)

Exactly. The game has been out a few months (Vorcha a month). If the complainers only buy equipment packs or don't play often, that's their problem for not having unlocked characters.
