Personally, i think you all have it wrong; i know exactly what bioware is doing.

Theve analyzed the stats, they know how many people have the needed races, and they dont like what they see.

By doing this weekend, the will force anyone without the needed races to play.

A LOT in order to get the card needed to complete the squad goal and get that coveted n7 weapon.

Vets can easily solo bronze, or do private games, so finding needed games for experienced players is irrelevant.

The servers will be bangin this weekend.

the only down side is there will be an assload of noobs in the pugs.

Your reasoning is so flawed I wouldn't even know where to start with.

Why would they not like to see people with Krogans and Batarians and Vorchas, it's not like the players opt them out when they buy a pack!

The cards needed to obtain the objective (do at a bronze game with 4 KBVs) seems a lot more available than the previous ones (extraction on gold)

Assload of noobs in pugs... what does it has to do with anything related to... I don't even...

you have clearly misunderstood what i was implying.

they WANT everyone to have the cards.

By requiring the new races for the squad goal, they are forcing all the people without them to play a lot in order to get them from the RNG.

as a side effect of all the noobs needing to play a lot, there will obviously be more people in the pugs than usual as they will have to keep playing until they get the needed cards, or the weekend is over.  Since you need a specter pack minumum to have a decent chance at the gold charactar cards, and most noobs not having their gold guns maxxed, there will be an assload of noobs in silver as it would take 4 bronze games to get one, versus 2 for silver just to get a single specter pack.  Multiply that by half a dozen packs and you see my point.

None of this i have an issue with, im more than happy to help the noobs achieve there goals and increase the resepective skill level of the community :-)

again, just my opinion, and analysis of the situation based on what i see and understand about what motivates people in general.

just have 4 kroguards in bronze match. squad goal done under 10 mins.

But where's the challenge in that?  At least go silver.  I'm afraid everyone's going to solo with their Krogan on Bronze and it's going to be impossible to find games with the whole team being Terminus boys.  Let's at least have some fun with it.

Does soloing count?

I hope so, otherwise no comm pack for me :crying:

Well, if you're on X-Box, my gamer tag is" LNedPepper."  I keep a mic on and will be pestering people all weekend to play with Krogan, Batarians and Vorcha.  It's FUN playing with 4 Krogan or two Krogan and two Batarians.  Or 2 Vorcha.  If everyone just solo's the damn thing, everyone will get their packs and switch back to their infiltrators.  Then the rest of us are screwed.  My only gaming buddy I know in real life just started playing MP and hasn't unlocked any of the classes. ( But he's determined to. )  My point: the community needs to come together on this.

solo counts..

Youd be surprised how many people will not switch back after using their Reegar Kroguard and realizing how much fun it is.

Plus there is a very large percentage of the community that wont switch just to help out the newer players.  We want the community to grow, not get frustrated and give up.

That Bioware should want or not want players to have the KBV cards, it doesn't change your illogical conclusion. Should those players buy veteran packs instead of spectre packs, it's credits spent all the same.

You seem to think this objective is THE one incentive the casual player needed to try to collect more credits per hour.

no, the Incentive is the n7 gun, not the squad goal itself.

in order to get it you must complete the squad goal. In order to do that, you must get the card.

Veteran packs will not give the card as often as the specter pack will, since you are guanteed a gold card with the specter.

It would be inefficient to buy vet packs in order to get the KBV card.

Most people will figure this out and use the silver pugs.

there is one assumption here, and i dont believe its off mark:  Most people use the pugs, not private games.

Isn't it what I said? The objective's reward is a N7 weapon. I say the incentive is the objective, you say it's that objective's reward... the color of blue is blue.

Again, what's it to Bioware if casual gamers buy Veteran packs instead of Spectre?

OK, here's the clarification I want:

For the goal of 7 million troopers, do you have to be in a game of only KVB characters? If so, do you have to be playing one of them?
Let's say I bang out a solo bronze with a Krogan to get the squad goal done. Then I find three people who have done the same - now if we join together and play non-KVBs, will the troopers we kill count? What if I'm a KVB and they're not, will my kills count but not theirs? Or, if we have one non-KVB in the game will the entire game not count?

Any clarification would be great!

"They're making us play a lot to get these characters"
>Buys 1 spectre pack
>Gets 2 of the characters

I don't get what people don't understand about this.
Kill 7 million troopers: You need to kill 7 million foot troops. Soldiers, cannibals, maraders and cannibals (and husks too).

The other one just needs to complete a match in a group of all listed characters. (any combo of them).

Nowhere do they say you need those characters to kill 7 million characters. So people need to stop thinking that's what it means.

The way I understand it based on priestly's twitter feed (a shout out to CP to repost here) -- it must be an all savage squad for the kills to count.

There is a Twitter from Chris replying  "CORRECT" to one guy asking "We need those classes for BOTH objective, correct?"

Oh, hey, we're back to using PST when the current timezone in the Western US, Mexico and Canada is PDT. For a couple posts they started using PT (which is generic for current DST offset).

So, does this start at 5 PM PDT or is this a typo?

:( I thought I could just suffer through using one of those races to get the comm pack then go back to my usual adept/engineer/infiltrator class preference for the community goal. Looks like I'm going to be kicked a lot this weekend... might as well not bother playing.

Thanks!  That sucks though - I'll probably do a bronze on Krogan to get my N7, then maybe search for a couple matches and hope for the best.  If there aren't any all Savage matches to be found I've got other games to play.

There is confusion over the Allied and Squad goals.
Allied Goal can be ANY race
Squad Goal MUST be only krogan, batarian or vorcha or a combination of those races

im not sure what you arent understanding here.

you will get the card quicker with a specter pack, than a vet pack, so why would you buy vet packs? Im sure bioware would happily prefer you buy vet packs, as it would take more games to achieve.

Im strictly talking from the players point of view as far as the packs go.

it has nothing to do with the store, it has to do with how many games you have to play to get the nessisary card.

It keeps people playing and gives bioware a larger pool from which to extract their statistical data whch is one of the primary purposes of this MP game as has been stated elswehere.

or in the case of people who purchase the packs rather than play for them, they trade off gameplay stats for microtransaction income.

Oh sweet!  OK, new plan: finish a Bronze solo with a Krogan, then go buck nutty on bronze missions with my Asari Adept.  THROW all the TROOPERS.  For Thessia!
