Try playing silver or bronze.  I found most of the players in gold already have their com packs so they can play  whichever characters they want now.  The community goal can be done with any of the characters, not just the savage ones.

I think this week's challenge is great! I really enjoy playing as a Krogan Sentinel (or any Vorcha) in a full-savage group. Too bad there aren't many on Silver/Gold...

Most fun I've had this weekend. You have to find people who can speak on a mic otherwise you get ransoms with the wrong races. Bring rollin with a krogan vanguard with a reeger and lovin it

Done a lot of games on silver (About 10) on ps3 with my Vorcha Sentinel which I love using.
Just message or use mic on non-savage team mates my sent messages was full of them.
Please BW to put a message up on main menu for next operation it would be a lot easier.

Try Gold on Firebase White with the Geth. Make sure to have at least to infiltrators, and everyone hide in the back. It's so easy

I have been playing games just leveling up my Bartarians and just joining all sorts of random parties some with humans and salarians and some with the required combinations needed.

Why can't you guys just do the same? Its not that difficult.

Plus side: Crazy fun playing my Kroguard and Batarian Soldier with other savages!

Down side: After 5 matches I wanted to continue working on my Lvl 16 Human Engineer because I felt like I was losing XP by continuing to use characters that were already at Lvl 20. Using the Human I was dropped into a savage match on Wave 3. After seeing the team build I immediately bailed out. Tried again and dropped into a savage match on WAVE 10!!! Again I immediately bailed, but probably messed up both of those matches (sorry if it was your match).

After hosting my own match, I found no shortage of players wanting to team up in non-savage matches. If BW is listening, the community would be better served if they could, at minimum, only disqualify matches if the errant team build plays for more than 2 minutes...or something like that...

To be honest, I didn't know that operations like this were even done on the Mass Effect multiplayer until Firday night.  I was playing with a Human Infiltrator and someone said "Operation Savage, look it up" over their headset.  I did a search and found this place.  Since then, I have been doing only Operation Savage games, kicking anyone who doesnt comply and locking games as private once at least three players were in.  

It would help greatly if the PS3 version of the game gave a splash screen the day before an operation.  At least then people would know this kind of stuff was happening and could make the decision to join the fight or not.  But I even had a guy last night who thought I was making stuff up when I said any non Krogan, Batarian or Vorcha fighters in our squad would void any of our kills.  I had to direct him here to prove otherwise.  Meeting goals is nearly impossible when people dont know there are goals to be met.

I have enjoyed it. Me and 2 other krogan Battlemasters (random team) Biotic Charging an Atlas in unison then head-butting it to destruction earlier today was one I wish I'd recorded!

Here in the UK, it doesn't end til midday on Monday! Plenty of time left to kill those pesky trooper classes!

Hmm, the "Squad" goal was quite fun.

Didn't have anybody about on my friends list and I didn't fancy trying with randoms so just solo'd it using my level 13 Kroguard (haven't played much at all since the promote characters op), I'd forgotten how ridiculously indestructible those things were.

Yeah...I got halfway through a match with my batarian, a vorcha, and a krogan, and an asari joined.

All I know is this weekend took my game to a whole new level. Avoided batarians before. So far, did my first solo run and first play through and extraction on Gold. Some may do this all the time, but I finally got there with my savages!
