if it comes out in summer, there would have to be gameplay, right?

It's going to be a cop out and one I'll have to accept.

People will calm down when they get a LI Reunion or Synthesis people get....whatever they're after.

We'll see Hudson. We'll see.

Er, if you don't mind me asking, why is it something you HAVE to accept? There are good alternatives out there now. There's not going to be an ME4, so it's not like there's going to be a broken canon. To my knowledge, Bioware's not holding your family hostage. So...why do you HAVE to accept a cop out? (if it turns out to be one)

Because you don't normally get things like this. I'm willing to compromise. As an adult you should too.

Again, why? IF the EC is the same as we got before, (remember, we're assuming worst-case scenario here), then there is literally no reason for me to compromise. In this scenario, Bioware served me a second helping of **** instead of the steak I thought I was ordering. I believe I DID compromise in that I was willing to give them a chance to fix the error instead of demanding a refund and walking away then and there. But if they continue and compound the error, and there are other companies/individuals willing to sell/give me what I want...well, again, why should I meekly accept the turd?

EDIT: For the record, I am fine with giving Bioware time to work if it means that they knock the ball out of the park. In fact, please DO take all the time you need, guys! However, we've been three months without even the slightest solid info. Look. If you are bound and determined to keep Starkid, just tell us! Sticking around hoping against hope that all will be fixed, only to be confronted with the same **** is NOT going to magically make us like it! Whereas if you DO plan to fix things, letting us know now keeps the resentment and worry from building to critical levels and allows for hype/excitement to rise. You're hurting both us and yourselves with this silence business.

Great sense of humor you have there.

Copy & Pasted from the same thread yestersday:

Summer will mean different things to different people. Some people think of it as June, July & August (traditionally teh warmest months). Some people use the astronomical calendar which means summer is between June 20 and September 21 this year.

For Australians, summer runs November, December and January.

For the Extended Cut, Summer will refer to when it is done and ready to be released. Could be this month, could be next month, or August or September.

so we shall speculate more ? :D

One of the devs came onto the forums a couple of months ago and said speficially that they weren't going to retcon out the Catalyst. The thread may be gone now, but I'll see if I can find it.

The blog post about the ec says that all we can expect is

What can fans expect from the Extended Cut DLC?
  • For fans who want more closure in Mass Effect 3, the DLC will offer
extended scenes that provide additional context and deeper insight to
the conclusion of Commander Shepard’s journey.
What is BioWare adding to the ending with the Extended Cut DLC?
  • BioWare will expanding on the ending to Mass Effect 3 by creating
additional cinematics and epilogue scenes to the existing ending
sequences. The goal of these new scenes is to provide additional clarity
and closure to Mass Effect 3.
http://blog.bioware.com/2012/04/05/mass-effect-3-extended-cut/

so some cut scenes and epilogue slides is just about it...

I only read page one so I apologize if this has been said before, I'd be willing to wait until the beginning of next year if they give it their all and do right by us. I've not speculated anymore on what their releases have said because it be can interpreted in so many ways. I try to post every now and then to let them know I'm still here waiting, but I'm not going to bug them about it too much more except to go to other threads and tell them what would make it great for me.

Exactly this. As adults we should be willing to wait and see what's in the EC and judge it on its own merits, nothing more. Compromise doesn't mean accepting the same mistake twice but instead is giving a chance to correct the first mistake.

That's about as vague an answer as I'd expect from Blizzard :o

Yea but then when people complained on the blizz forums the Lead Systems Designer of the game would come and explain the situation like a normal person would in face to face conversation. Then the product would also be super polished once it released.

EA/Bioware awnsers questions/handles PR like their running for office..

Could be that non sequitur notation. Seeing as how we're both North Americans, y'know.

You're not helping yours--Bioware's--case here by saying "LAWL PATIENTS PLZ."

It'll be out in time for the Wii U release.

Still don't get all this "You better make the EC good, Bioware! P.S. Why isn't it out yet?" stuff.

^This^

They can take all the time they need, as I really want this to be good.

I have faith they can pull it off.

If I'm let down it won't be the first time, but whatever you do you should not try to rush them.

It might have helped if the "when it's done" timeline was used the first time around instead of having to base the release around EA's fiscal year.  <_<

Ill wait two year if it fixes the pile of crap we got with ME3. They need to start over from scratch.

This.

"LAWL PATIENTS PLZ" doesn't work when you didn't ask for it the first time.

What I can't believe is that we'll wait and wait and wait...and for what? It'll just be something else to let us down. Come on, it's a real possibility, what with their one initial statement that "we'll remain true to our artistic vision" and "we're not changing the ending".

I still have no desire whatsoever to play any of the Mass Effects again. I can't believe how utterly destroyed my love for the franchise is. Clarifying what we have already been given...doesn't bode well. Yeah, I'll still be interested to see what they have to offer..whenever it finally gets here...but I don't expect my love to be rekindled by anything EA Garns can concoct. Realistically, I just don't see it happening.

Man, I hope I'm wrong. :)

Seriously, is Bioware taking scheduling advice from Valve? Can anyone convert what Summer means in Valve Time?
