But you also stated that it could be November, December, January....So the term Summer is pretty subjective to interpretation I guess

Great sense of humor you have there.

You expect us to have a sense of humor after what your company did to the game franchise we loved?  Yeah.

Careful, can't be too direct with those poor game devs. They'll think you're attacking them.

Seriously, is Bioware taking scheduling advice from Valve? Can anyone convert what Summer means in Valve Time?

Fair enough Mr. Priestly, might you, or somebody, be able to give a general idea as to where it is in the development process?  Is it in Production, Post-Production, Pre-Production?  We've heard close to nothing since the EC was announced, to quote Dr. Evil, "throw me a frickin' bone here."
D24O wrote...
I hope we don't have this thread every day until the EC comes out.
We could always keep bumping this one to keep it on the first page. It won't stop everybody but we might knock it down to every other day.

Hmm let's see, carry the five, divide by 6, to the power of the Gravitational Constant and we get about 3 weeks after the end of time.

Yeah, because after lying to us, stealing our ability to choose dialogue, ignoring all most all our choices, killing galactic civilization, forcing us to play multiplayer, stranding/killing our friends while at the same time neglecting others almost completely, stuffing fridges with bodies, and calling us into question when any of these issues are brought up... I could see how they think their the victims. They're evil.

Summer will mean different things to different people. Some people think of it as June, July & August (traditionally teh warmest months). Some people use the astronomical calendar which means summer is between June 20 and September 21 this year.

For Australians, summer runs November, December and January.

For the Extended Cut, Summer will refer to when it is done and ready to be released. Could be this month, could be next month, or August or September.

Let them take as much time as they need ;)

Someone else may have pointed this out but I can't be arsed reading through to find out. For Australia summer is December, January and February. NOT November. It's still Spring. SPRING!

I would laugh/and cry if all this delay for the EC and silence and time turned out to be the worse possible EC dlc they could think of.

If all we get is a text based epilogue ala DA:O then the people at bioware are not only retarded. but would have wasted a whole summer putting together a text based epilogue.

thats what we have fan epilogues for. it doesnt take a whole dev team to accomplish that.

heres hoping they dont **** up again

Oh that's right, I forgot.  This all happened in real life.

The multiplayer thing I totally get.  The lying, maybe.  As for the others, blantant hyperbole or injecting a realism that doesn't seem particularly healthy.

So summer=when is ready for release?
What a joke of a company lol
Why give a release date if you have no god damn clue when you are going to be able to finish the project.
And why is this taking so long? Is the team trying to recharged all their hard spent artistic integrity?

Personally, I'd rather the Australian summer. I would rather have a well thought out, carefully considered, and fully tested product than something that was shoved out the door to meet a deadline. My team is currently working under a very tight deadline, and I know what it does - frazzled nerves (not helped by all the feedback), rushed production, etc. You cut corners, you miss things that you just didn't think of, either because of the lack of time, or because you're not thinking clearly. For me, if someone gave us a more specific outline of what the EC will be, I'm more than willing to say take the time you need (provided it's something that actually sounds worthwhile, and not just expanding on what we already have).

Patience, folks. It'll get here when it does, nothing can change that. As much as I'd like to see something wonderful sooner than later, I'll keep myself busy with other games until the EC is released. Besides, at this point the damage is done and ennui has set in. Let's wait till the SDCC and see what happens. I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities to hurl more poop after that if deemed necessary....hopefully not.

I live in Montana, summer for us usually lasts about 2 months if we are lucky. I am willing to wait for the extended cut, let them do their job and make it good. These things take time, its not easy to create new cinematic, code backgrounds and input voices. All this takes time.

They've already said they're not changing the ending, not adding any new gameplay, just cutscenes and "ending clarification". How much time do they need? We will have waited half a year for more dialog/cutscenes. I'm not getting excited until I see something a little more concrete than "summer...". Hehe.

Meanwhile, thank goodness there are a ton of really good games out there yet to play. ME3 is now a distant memory, sadly forgotten. See you folks in 3 months.... zzzzzzzzzzzzzz..........

I live in Florida so it's summer all year around except for those four hours of winter.

I'm not advocating that they release it now or that they should've released it on the first day of summer. I just want an update that's not all cute and cryptic. Now that we've entered the announced time frame of release, an update isn't that big of a request.

I was under the impression that by 'summer' bioware meant the American summer since in most parts of Australia we have four seasons worth of summer per year, with some of those seasons being slightly less warm than the others. Also i think it's safe to assume now that there is no guarantee that the EC is going to be available in the next couple of months.
