I just recently got DA:O Ultimate Edition, and I was wondering which dlc's will be prevalent in DA2.

Your choice at the end of Warden's Keep may result in different sidequests within Act 1 of DA2.

Your choices in Awakening also result in different sidequests within Act 1 of DA2 and affects dialogue. Also, if you kept Nathaniel Howe alive in Awakening, you can go on a quest to rescue him in Act 3.

The decisions made in Return to Ostagar and Witch Hunt are apparently "checked" when importing but don't seem to have an impact in DA2.

There's a full list of how imported saves affect DA2 here if you don't mind spoilers.

Alright thanks, I was wondering, because having DA2 just sit there and not getting played is getting on my nerves with all of this dlc I need to get to first.

I recommend The Stone Prisoner, as the gear it brings is quite good and Shale (the extra party member) is quite fun. If you bring Shale along on the resolution of A Paragon of Her Kind, her presence adds quite a bit of dialogue.

Warden's Keep is decent. It's a fun little side-adventure and provides some interesting insight into the history of the Wardens, but the gear and the abilities it brings are strictly average.

Return to Ostagar is the most disposable of the lot. If you really want Cailan's Armor, play it. Otherwise, you could skip it.

Leliana's Song and The Darkspawn Chronicles are strictly side stories with no connection to the main plot. (Actually, TDC is set in an alternate reality where the darkspawn win.)  Of the two, LS is more enjoyable, but by no means necessary.

Awakening is a decent expansion, though a bit buggy. Still, if you want to add 20-plus hours to your Dragon Age experience, it's worth it.

Golems of Amgarrak is a "harder than hard" DLC catering to those players who found DAO to be too easy. Unless you hunger for a personal challenge, you can skip it.

Opinions on Witch Hunt vary. It's a good side-plot but provides more questions than answers. If you're seeking closure for a Warden who romanced Morrigan, then definitely play it.

Dragon Age: Awakening shows two characters that become companions in DA2, and if you put them together and with another party member (a human archer), their party banter will reveal some Epic Foreshadowing of events in DA2.

Dragon Age: Witch Hunt makes some references to and even foreshadows some events that take place in DA2 (as they both take place around the same time period), but otherwise? Eh.

Other than that, there's no need. The DLC are all cool, but mostly they just impact DA:O or stand alone as independent stories. Not much main story or DA2 involvement.

The outcome of Warden's Keep triggers one of two possible side quests in DA2 (Dark Epiphany, Terror on the Coast), assuming that you didn't kill both involved npcs.  Starfang and the Warden Commander armor set are nice pickups here.

As mentioned, Awakening also is referenced. Two of the companions return, and a third makes a cameo. The rest of the Origins dlc has no effect.  I'd play all of them to complete the Origins "experience", regardless of their influence on DA2.

DAMN YOU BIOWAAAREEEE..... for making such a great game!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why are these things so hard? xD

I have the Warden's Keep dlc, and for the life of me can't remember what sidequest was related to it in DA2. All of those sidequests along the Wounded Coast seem alike because its the same small map over and over again, with the same killing of waves of enemy over and over again. That's the problem with DA2, there is no driven plot so that the sidequest seem like an integrated part of your "hero story". All of DA2 feels like a bunch of sidequests wrapped around a flashback narrative.

The Warden's Keep can give you a stat point boost in DA2 if completed in a certain way. It happens through a new side quest it opens up in DA2. I will not spoil it here but it's easy to find. To my knowledge it's the only one with any real bonus. That also makes it the most valuable DLC if you intend to keep play through DA2 afterwards.

Which DA2 companion appears other than Anders? I know Nathanial appears but doesn't become a full companion?

I must say, I've been playing DA2 now for.... god I have no clue how many days for hours at a time, and to be completely honest, I have no problem with it. Maybe it's because it's gotten such a bad rap about recycled areas, that I knew what to look for and my hopes weren't "given up" so to speak. Either way, the combat is so much fun and the graphics (though not the best) are such a great improvement over DA:O I don't even noticed the reclycled environments, and when I do, I don't even really care.

The only thing I have against DA2 so far is that, none of the abilities seem to be too powerful (probably because enemies scale in level as you do?) and whenever I reach the end of a skill tree I'm expecting to be all-powerful, and use my new ability and it only takes down a centimeter of health. That and things like aura of pain for the reaver don't deal much damage over time because the delay is too long for the damage.

That, and the fact that you have all of the classes from the get-go. There isn't any fun to getting a new class becuase it's just simply there. I enjoyed the back story about getting blood magic and the reaver class and arcane warrior in DA:O, but I felt a little cheated to not see something like "drink this dragons blood to unlock this class" in the second game. They could have worked something out like, let's say you just unlocked blood mage, you don't have it right away, but instead, it sends you on this side quest that activates and sends you into the fade as soon as you exit the menu screen and you encounter a demon that offers you power saying some cool lines like "I see that you wish for more power.... I can give you the power of which you seek just help me get a host, find one here for me in the fade, and all I know shall be yours." That would just be awesome and make me feel more accomplished and more like a bad*ss every time I unlocked my new class.

Act 1, I think.  It's part of Dark Epiphany.  Explore the northern part of the Wounded Coast.

Aside from Anders and Nathaniel being in DA2, Justice is another, though he's part of Anders now.  Nate is the only one that you need to keep alive in Awakening (make sure he's in the party in the end), as the other two will appear, regardless.
